I occasionally get an inadvertent screen shot when touching the recent apps button. I barely touch it, the recent apps aren't displayed, and I get a screen shot. Very annoying. Anyone else experience this?

I did experience this a lot while I had the stock from installed along with it before rooting and unlocking. I installed Zeus' rom and I have yet to have the problem.

Just turn the "long press recent apps for screenshot" setting off in the settings menu
Why not just disable it in the ASUS customized setting menu?
Yes, just turn it off and use the built-in Android way to do it: Vol Down + Power.
The Recent apps menu and button is so damn laggy I kept getting tons of unwanted screenshots when I had that feature activated.

Well I didn't want to turn it off, but now that I know there's another way to take a screen shot I will.
Thanks for the info.

I got fed up with screen shots every time I hit the multi task button until I did this. Maybe when JB drops this won't be a problem anymore.

Does anybody else that is running the official JB have this issue? Set an alarm. Choose any ringtone. Wait for it to go off.
For me, when it does, it plays the first note or two of the alarm, then stops. That's it.
Rather annoying and utterly useless as an alarm.

Tried it here with rooster alarm, no issue. Running all stock and not rooted, but want to be haha

Yes I have the same issue. EDIT: works correct if tablet not locked. But otherwise does not work right. Checked it on Nexus 7 and it works correctly.

got it here too. first day of my new job too...
Just to follow this up.
The alarm works fine if the screen is on. However it doesn't work if the screen is off, which unfortunately is pretty much the only time I'd need it.
Reboots don't change this behavior. Adjusting various display and power settings don't change this behavior. Using the exact same settings on my Galaxy Nexus running JB works fine.
So it appears to be a legitimate bug.
What I haven't tried is a full wipe and reinstall using the JB image from the ASUS website.
A workaround that seems to work perfectly is using Alarm Clock Xtreme downloaded from Google Play.

I tried it, and turned the screen off, no issue. Doesn't mean there's no bug. Too many others are having the problem.

I have the same issue.. with ICS never had this happen.
+1. Wait for another update.

I noticed my TF700 is suffering from contrast degradation after prolonged use. I could be using the browser and then the screen seems to kinda whiten up a bit more then usual. It's still readable but noticeable. Wondering if anyone else is noticing this and if it has been noticed does it get worst because mine is happening more often now.

Turned off Auto Brightness?
Turned off Battery Saving? Not the speed toggle, the one in settings that turns on when battery gets low. This has an auto-contrast.
So that settings / power savings / first selection battery saver. Thanks I will post results.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
I'm still getting the weird contrast.

It sounds like the effects of the Asus "Smart Backlight Adjuster". Go to "Settings->Asus Customized Settings->Enable Smart Backlight Adjuster" and uncheck that option - I think that will solve your issue... This is completely different (and separate from) the auto-brightness setting.

Thanks I will try it when I get home. Kinda driving me nuts. Instead of the solid black letters I get light grey letters. Harder to read. Just started happening maybe 2 weeks ago.

Are you talking about xda? If so change your theme to xda 2010 at the bottom
It starts up fine then after a while when it gets warm everything gets lighter. More noticeable when browsing the web.

Hmm, that actually sounds a little more serious that just the setting that I talked about a few posts back... Almost sounds like a hardware issue.
Let us know what you find out - a picture would also help. In fact, if you take a screenshot with the TF700 and post the picture and the picture looks fine, then it would definitely be a hardware problem (the screenshot would capture what is supposed to be displayed - if it's a hardware problem, the screenshot would look normal to everyone else, but would still look bad to you, if that makes any sense)...

I have the same problem, noticed yesterday for the first time. It looks as if contrast is lower and brightness higher than normal.
I am still within my 30 day best buy return period, should I consider returning it? I have unlocked it, would best buy care?

Yeah that's what Im experiencing. I have a square trade warranty but I'm curious to see how they will remedy this. They would have to use it for a bit till it warms up.

This is smart dimmer activating..
Two days later and haven't noticed the issue reappearing. Deactivating that setting fixed it for me.

Cool - glad that if fixed it for you guys. Personally, I don't know what Asus was thinking with that one! It's utterly horrible! At least they finally provided a setting for it (previously, you had to be rooted and type some commands @ the Android command-prompt to disable it)!

Hi there,
It's about time I root my infinity but before I do I just want to check up on some issues to see if it's warranty or just an annoyance I'll have to live with...
Whenever my keyboard is out of battery while the tablet is not, my tablet seems to turn off while not being actively used. Is the the way it's supposed to work, or at least the way it works for everyone?
Thank you for reading!

Yep, if you mean turns the screen off. You can set the time out under display settings. No, if you mean completely shuts the tab down.
Out of nowhere today, I started having problems with my screen. When I press the left middle of the screen, it shows me pressing 2 inches above that. My keyboard in that area, is non responsive, and when I'm in apps and trying to navigate, it gets all haywire on me.
Is their a way to get it calibrated? To stop the intermittent failure of my screen in certain areas.?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
Is this happening with power connected or without?
Saw a neat clip once of the screen's different feedback between connected and not. When was connected to power, user showed how his touch input resulted in erroneous touch all over the place.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
At first I thought it was during connection. But now it happens intermittently with other without power. When I called Asus. They said it's the "Digitizer" I'm under warranty, but If theirs a fix we can do on our own, I'm all for it.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
Unfortunately, it probably is hardware-not software related. Get a RMA and send it in....
If you want to narrow it down some more, you could enable"show touches" in Developer Options.
But I doubt that it would help...

That's exactly what I did, to know that when I touch one spot on the screen, it showed the actual touch, two inches above where I was actually pressing. What's maddening is, it doesn't happen all the time. Just different times throughout the day.

Hopefully forum will let me post this link (still a new born here).
This is the video I saw, though I now see it is for the prime, but anyways take a look at the symptoms he had, and try and find that app he loaded, maybe can help you narrow problem down...

It does sound like a hardware issue with the digitizer. Sending it in might be the only way to know for sure and to fix it. It is under warranty, so you won't be charged anything. Try doing a full factory reset first before sending it, though. There could be small chance that it fixes it that way.
Im wondering if there is a way to write a mod that you can force a 90 degree rotation while keyboard is docked. I ask this because there are times while using my tab that i hold it in portrait mode and read or walk around. Its very comfortable to hold in my left hand like a book. And use my right hand to scroll. I find it easier and balanced with the dock attached. And when im done i can just close it. Thank you guys.
