Am I correct in understanding that there's a hack for some devices whereby increasing (changing?) the dpi value in the framework alters the screen layout and removes the top status bar in Jellybean? I'm running with CM10 at the moment (thanks aorth!) but I couldn't quite gather from all the existing threads whether it's entirely possible to get rid of the status bar, what consequences there might be, or even how to go about it. Is it a build.prop tweak? On-device or thru adb shell? Any clarification appreciated....:silly:
You need to lower the dpi to at most 133 I believe. Be warned, the text will be small, but you will get the hc layout back

Use root explorer to edit the build.prop in /system. You have to mount it read/write first, then edit ro.sf.LCD.density. it should be 160 stock, change it to 133 then reboot. Make sure to be using a launcher that supports it, like apex or you will get massive fcs

Awesome at 133. Toggles in the status is more usable for me, especially having the brightness slider back. Also a lot of apps, such as settings now have the two pane layout again, bonus!
Notification icons also now not too small, and makes them useful again.

Thank you, friends. You recommend using a launcher other than Trebuchet? I'll investigate. Thanks.
Thanks for the replies
What DPI values u set to get this?

Trebuchet works fine for me at 133 dpi. The icons & text are a little small, but not too bad. To center the display properly change the grid from 6x6 to 7x7. If anyone knows of a launcher that has larger icons at those settings, please let us know.

Hey guys I wanna use the fancy icons feature in ADW EX but I Sony like the way it wraps text in the labels
Anyone know a setting to allow text to actually wrap or all sit on one line instead of this jumbled mess

thanks for the suggestion! but see what i mean about apps with spaces in their names like Root Explorer and Handcent?
don't like it, looks messy
I hate that!! Did anyone find a fix for this?
Personally, I like it. The only way to get rid of that is to go back to standard icons. But the labels won't wrap, they clip off the end just like they always did. Can't have it all.
To change the way the apps labels are display.
Go to ADW Settings » UI Settings » Icons
Uncheck "New Icons".
This is the way I'm use to see the labels. Let me know if this was what you're looking for.

I have the same problem when i want change the signature under the icon. Everything goes back to the beginning when i restart the phone. Any ideas
I never had that problem but what you can do is use the backup options built in the ADWex menu. That way if you restart your phone just have to restore your settings and everything is supposed to be as it was.

I know exactly what you mean. The text labels always revert after a reboot, it would be nice if the settings would stick..

Looks awesome man.
I am currently running this. Only criticism I would give is the page slider could use tuning its kind of edgy low res on my phone. But, it isn't a deal breaker still the best theme I've had on my phone

Id would like to, but im not in reach of a computer. If you scroll up or down in a thread it's the blue triangle that appears on the right side. That is blocky. Idk if its fixable or not. But like I said awesome theme regardless of the little tiny triangle slider

Does this theme work with Gummy2.0? It looks good
Also - I understand wanting your name on your work, but the Gummy badge in the notification bar drives me bonkers. Is there an easy way to strip that so it just says Verizon again? Thanks
Does this theme allow the displaying of Missed Calls/Unread Texts on the MIUI lockscreen in GC 2.0? I've noticed that this functionality seems to be missing in the default theme.
Please READ people!!! I revived this post to clarify: I'm NOT asking about system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk that is the Google search WIDGET!
I want to know where the persistent search bar system files are located in ICS so I can add the Google-logo again! The new persistent search bar is too empty for my taste...

Anyone?
I believe Google removed it from the quicksearchbar, it's not caused by a custom ROM.

I don't think so. When I flash the 4.0.3 OTA, it's there. With the ROM in my sig it's gone. Just need the location/path so I can get it from the OTA...
Anyone?

Hm, strange.. I read around and that's what most people said.
I could be wrong, though..
Here's the location; system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
It's part of the GApps.
That is the Quicksearch WIDGET you're pointing to. I'm looking for the persistant UI searchbox. Could it be inside SystemUI.apk maybe?!
Damn, I didn't notice it was gone until reading this. Now I want it back.

yes, you can remove it , but you can not use the empty place
BUMP; Edited my 1st post in this thread...please read!
Well why not just use a custom launcher? I'm using Nova Launcher and the search bar has the google logo. Take a look at the screenshot below.
Also you can disable the persistent search bar, makind that space usable, and add the quick search widget which looks the same and that you can move.

In my first post I stated I DO NOT want the WIDGETs location or to use the widget or any launcher...*sigh*
Where are the system files/.png icons of the persistent searchbar located in the OS files. I can mod them myself...
..
Edit:
I just used G2 Xposed and set my nav bar to 50% transparency. Done and done. If you have any questions, just ask.
--
I've read a transparent is possible with certain settings but I've also read that it is not possible. I'm half way there but I need the help of others.
Right now, I do have a transparent navigation bar on top of Nova Launcher. My only issue is the gradient behind the dock items and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Anyone else run into this issue?

You'll just need to uncheck the 'show shadow' option under the desktop settings and you'll be good to go.

It has been a while since I last used Nova and the suggestion above sounds good but in case it does not solve the issue I would look at the Dock options in Nova and see is there is a transparency option there. By the way your screen looks it seems to be shaded from Nova on the Dock.

Hey guys,
long time gone since I asked something in Q&A section, but no idea anymore...
I tested xposed framework again after some time. Problem always was the icon themer module which always want to get activated, even it already was.
This time I could change the icon theme once and afterwards I couldn't get back into to change to default, because the module wanted to get activated again -_-
After deleting all I had the default icons back, BUT my icon size and distance isn't as it was.
So with changing the density to default, u won't see any problem, but with setting it down (like I always had) u can see what I'm talking about.
Actually:

Yeah, like I wrote I always have changed my dpi. I always on 435dpi.
Only default (480dpi) will show all correct.
CHEERS
OK guys, I got it back again.
1st of all, like @thereal_bigjake mentioned, u need the actual icon themer!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sg.ruqqq.IconThemer
But now it's not just done with changing icons...
- U have to choose another icon theme first
- Reboot
- then choose the default/system one
- Restart launcher
=> now it's fixed and u can change to another theme if u want.
Thanks guys and CHEERS
EDIT!
*push*
I was wrong -_-
After a reboot it's back to the 5*5 than 4*4 raster and having the normal icon size...
Any more idea... Really disturbing
PS: So I always get back the original view when restarting the launcher via app. But after reboot it's bad listed again.
