I tried flashing a custom rom on my Fiance's phone. It stuck at boot loop. I retried everything on this thread.

Probably best to go back to GB with Root, then flash the Heimdall ICS revcovery, then pick your ROM and follow the instructions on the OP.

Read the stickies in the development section on how to flash roms. There are a number of steps you have to take and if you don't educate yourself first your going to be sorry.

Yes. Have you tried to upgrade your phone with kies? Where did you get the 4.1.2 file from, what file format is it?

I can't upgrade via kies because it won't even recognize my phone, tried on 2 diff computers.

Read all the stickies you can before doing anything. Vincom has posted a few, read them all, read them till you feel confident you can do this. 2 Wipe DATA/SYSTEM/DALVIK in CWM.
3 Flash tar as PDA in Odin 3, download Odin here http://file.jayceooi.com/2012/05/Odin3-v3.04.zip.
4 Flash old recovery tar as PDA in Odin 3. Link http://d-h.st/Z97 .
5 Flash new recovery zip in old recovery. Link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777970 .
6 Done.

For prerooted and improved Rogers JB (get CWM here http://d-h.st/Z97 ) .
1 Download rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158262.
2 Download radio of your choice, or don't (radio for above rom https://mega.co.nz/#!FchjUArZ!QPtwwGvt0KPNE9LFkj9lhTObUSZ1MtI-vKeQxdiefU8 ) Flash radio in CWM.
3 Wipe DATA/SYSTEM/DALVIK in CWM.
4 Flash rom then radio from old recovery / new recovery (<--link).

PS. If you use google backup (in settings/accounts) all your phone numbers and most other settings will remain. There are other ways but i don't care about them. ds.
Finally i would like to join the crowd and say READ THE STICKIES. They exist so that you won't have to waste your own time making threads like this.

OP, I think you should stay on ics until you can get kies to work. Your going to end up losing everything on your phone at best and bricking it at worst.

I would start reading some posts in the development forum, and other specific topics on the various steps you will need to take. But...
First you will need to install a custom recovery, like clockwork mod(cwm) or twrp.
Second, you will need to find a ROM specific to your device, making sure to check your model number and only installing a ROM if it is intended for your devices model.
Third, flash the rom .zip in the previously installed recovery.
That's really all you need to do, but you should read how to take those steps in the threads for them and your device.

When you flash a stock firmware either from that link or (recommended) sammobile.com, its called stock for a reason it turns the firmware, recovery and kernel back to....err.....stock

I have looked but cant find anything that is exactly like my problem...
I was using Omega ROM but wanted to go back to Stock unrooted firmware.
I flashed Stock 4.3 (XXUEMKF to be precise - both Baseband and Build) using Odin 3.04
Now I cant turn wifi on (common problem I believe???)
When I go into Download mode I dont have any KNOX lines and my Binary is Custom not stock!!!
What is the best way to get my baby working..... im in the UK if that makes a difference
