WPA2 Enterprise - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

Is anyone using WPA2 Enterprise with their Photon Q? My evo shift connects no problems, a coworkers galaxy nexus connects no problems but my photon q fails with the exact same settings....
WPA2-PSK works just fine.

It might be a cert issue, I couldn't get my phone to do exchange activesync or wpa2-enterprise until I trusted our certificate explicitly. We're using a cert from a root ca that's in the default trusted list but the photon couldn't figure out the chaining for some reason.

VisionARY & Barnacle Tether

Hey everyone,
I used VisionARY to temp root my G2 and I'm trying to use Barnacle for hot spot tethering. It has super user access and says its running but my network doesn't show up in my iPad or anywhere else. I'm using a 5 key WEP. I've tried using different channels. Any ideas why?

I tried several configurations on Barnacle connecting from Win7 and never had any luck. I finally downloaded Wifi Tether from here (wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre11.apk):
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
Initially that didn't work either until I turned on WPA on Wifi Tether and then Win7 connected to it without any complaints.
Hope that helps.
Kevin
That worked. Its running perfect even without WPA. Thank you!

Have a new problem now. My iPad picks up and drops my network over and over every second or two. A friend of mine has a Hero using the same tethering app with no issues. Any ideas why?

Cm7 tethering not working

Hey ppls I recently upgraded my phone to cm7 one of the rcs and tethering stopped working. When I tether I only oddly get Skype to work but not anything else. I had this same problem even with the Skype thing when the DNs server IP changed on my wifi and I could only use skype. Is this related to the dns change? Or do I just have to like download something.

Anyone?

I'm posting this while tethered. It's safe to say that the issue lies w/your device, although I'm not sure what that issue may be.

How do I connect to an ad hoc network using Nexus S

Well as the title says, is it possible to connect the nexus to an ad hoc connection if yes, how?
I create one on my laptop (router not working, using broadband meanwhile), network it's working because my iPod is able to see the network and to connect but I,m not able to see the network on the Nexus S.
Is it possible to connect to an ad hoc connection on android? Am I missing something to be able to connect to this network?

Android doesn't support this yet. Get wifi analyzer and check it out. It can see the network, but it can't connect.

didn't know that .. Guess I'm without a fast connection until new year

Try changing your ad hoc wireless encryption to WEP.

[Q] any solution to tether with ICS?

Hi all,
I have been trying for a while now to get the wifi tethering app and the native hotspot app to work in ICS on my NS4g (i have flashed all the ICS roms and even back tracked to older 2.3 roms) but nothing seems to work. The other devices can see the network and connect, but there is never any type of data exchanged. (the wifi icons never show an active online connection) I can use my GF's Evo with the unlocked Sprint hotspot to connect every device I own (tablets, laptops, etc...) but my Nexus will not work at all. I can get the ad hoc tethering to work with the old wireless tether apk, but only my laptop recognizes the connection.
Is there any rom, app, or fix to get my Nexus S 4g to tether in infrastructure mode? I love this phone, and the lack of tethering is persuading me to jump back on board with my OG Evo.
Any help, insight, or recommendation would be appreciated. I've been searching online for weeks looking for a solution and have come up empty.
Thanks
Jason
Have you tried open garden ? On the market

Yes I have tried it. That app only supports ad hoc connections
Wow I do not have this issue
Try the one in the phones settings with a simple name ssid like "cranberry" and have it be open.
That's what I do. Also wifi has to be off.

I do that and it connects, but I get no internet. The bars never change colors showing there is an active internet connection...

Tethering to a PSP?

Hello,
I have a rooted Thunderbolt (stock rom), and I use the 4G on it to tether to both my Windows 7 PC and also my Roku player. I use the app "Android Tether" on my TB. I'd now like to use my PSP's WiFi capabilities to connect the two as well.
But I'm having some trouble. When I go into "Network Settings" on the PSP, I scan for access points. It DOES find the Android Tether network, but it's grayed out, and under the "Security" column is says "not supported." I have tried switching to both ad hoc mode AND infrastructure mode, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there any way around this?
You may have to do it without the security settings in place on the tether side.

Try wireless tether beta it works good

The PSP doesn't support a certain type of WPA encryption. WEP should work fine. The PSP just didn't have the hardware for newer WPA connections.

That's what I was thinking and that's why I suggested disabling it just to see if it works.

It does, it's just kinda touch-and-go. I think WPA-TKIP connections works, but not WPA-AES or something like that. WEP is much simpler. I finally just gave up on tethering to it at all.
