ROM developers already spend enough time to provide a quality product, but not all of us are always 100% happy with the way the ROM looks. Theme developers will make different themes for a particular ROM, but even still not everyone wants every change introduced in the theme. It can be cumbersome for developers and themers alike to thoroughly please each of its followers. That's where I'd like to change the game with the GSIII - rather than having to rely on a themer to make something that looks close to what you'd like, you'll be put in the driver seat and choose your own modifications.
What options are you presented with?
- Battery style
- Clock position and color (stock grey or ics blue)
- Brightness slider (won't work on stock ROMs)
- Placement of the date/clear button bar
- Transparency % of the notification area
- Lidroid toggle style (keep your current or use my slimmed ICS blue ones)
- Number of lidroid toggles shown w/o scrolling
- Text labels or not below those toggles
However, these changes can't be made possible without a little side effect. In this first version, the style of the clock, date, clear button, and toggles use the ICS blue color. In future versions of the theme system, additional styles will be provided!

yesssss! Been waiting for this.
Sexy!
Well done! Options are always nice to have! Minor, slightly OCD request. Would it be possible to have the percentage in the honeycomb or circle battery icon be blue to match everything else? Thank you!

Came from MIUI on a Droid X. Had something like this. Could get rid of the battery icon altogether and just show a line across the top (could even pick the color). Does the download currently allow for this?

Correct. Flash it from whichever recovery you use - should work fine on CW or TWRP.
Everyone, once you've tried the thing out and played with it to create maybe 1 or 2 styles, feel free to provide some suggestions of what you'd like for version 2. Unless you guys have some objections, the next thing I'll be working on is a JB styled notification area. Did anybody actually like the TouchWiz style? I found it to be ugly, but if enough people wanted it I'll provide that as another available theme to use in v2.

I second this with the option of having an animated image.
This is pretty awesome. Only thing I would change is the white background on the installer. It is super bright.....
I would like to see icon packs
Inverted app installer
Anything and every thing you can add that would help NOOBs.
This IMHO is a monster leap for the avg/inexperienced Android modder

I may be interpreting your first post wrong but you plan to allow for color picks or just different theme choices in the future?
And how about lockscreen options?
30% transparent on the statusbar might be the sweet spot for me. Any chance of adding increments of 10, rather than 20?

It would be cool if the vibrate icon in the dashboard was themed blue.
Nice work rehpyc!

ClockworkOrange theme v2.0. This theme is based on Synergy R50....
Themed:
SystemUI

lidroid-res
Gmail
####################################
THIS IS OLD
This SystemUI is based off of Synergy ROM v1.2, which is awesome by the way! If you haven't yet, check out Team Synergy's thread here. Highly recommended.
If you are on v.1.2 of Synergy you can flash either of the 1.2 zips. If you're on v. 1.3 you can flash that one. Descriptions are as follows:
synergy1.2.orange.signed.zip - Orange toggles and default black notification background.
synergy1.2t.orange.signed.zip - Orange toggles with transparent background (black image set at 70% opacity).
synergy1.3.orange.signed.zip - Orange toggles for Synergy 1.3
Word of warning on these. They are based on the delivered SystemUI's from the Synergy ROMs so any additional customizations that you have made to SystemUI will be lost.
As an additional treat I have also attached just the changed images for orange, ics blue and stock toggles/battery. Those are the 7zips. If you don't want to overwrite your existing SystemUI.apk by flashing and you're comfortable with decompiling/recompiling then all you have to do is grab your SystemUI.apk and merge the contents of these with the ones in SystemUI/res/. They could also be applied to non-deodexed ROMs in that way. For a great little tutorial on decompiling/recompiling check out the second post of freeza's thread here.
####################################
Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. You are responsible for what you do to your device. Always backup before flashing anything. I have tested these changes to the best of my knowledge, but I'm not promising perfection.
Enjoy!
CHANGELOG
8/1
Added orange toggles with transparent background for Synergy v1.3 base. Flash 1.3t_orange_toggle.zip
8/2
Added white toggles for Synergy 1.3. Default blue battery. Flash 1.3_whitetoggle.zip
Added white toggles for Synergy 1.3 with white battery and data arrows. Flash 1.3_whitetoggle_batt.zip
Added no toggle mod with transparent notification background for Synergy 1.3. Default blue battery. Flash 1.3_notoggle.zip
8/3
ClockworkOrange v1.0 - Thought this release deserved it's own name. A good bit more orange incorporated. Looks like this.
8/4
ClockworkOrange v1.1 - More orange status bar icons: battery percentage, bluetooth on and bluetooth connected, vibrate and mute icons, airplane mode on, no signal, sync and sync error.
8/6
ClockworkOrange v1.2 (Synergy 1.3 systemui) - 15 toggle mod, 1% circle battery, sayonara am/pm on the status bar clock. I highly recommend wiping cache/dalvik for this one. It's the first that required smali edits. Also give full credit to Lidroid for the original 15 toggle mod and whoever actually ported it to the s3. I used Synergy 1.4 as my 15 toggle source.
ClockworkOrange v1.2b - identical to 1.2 except with brightness slider.
8/7
ClockworkWhite v1.0 - For lack of a better name I ripped myself off to deliver the comparable white version. This one is identical to CwO 1.2 so check out the info above. Thanks again to loonyone for the help on the white circle battery images!
8/10
ClockworkWhite v1.0nt - Same as v1.0 but with solid black notification background in lieu of transparent.
8/11
OrangeD v1.0 beta (Synergy 1.6 based) - Pretty much orange on dark/black. This theme incorporates all of ClockworkOrange v.1.2 plus additional SystemUI changes (too many to list so just check it out). Framework and Settings themed. I'm calling this a beta because I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test and I want to make sure I get enough orange in there! Thanks to GrainOsand for letting me use some of his dark holo images! Let me know what you run into.
To add the brightness slider to OrangeD v1.0 flash this.
8/21 Oranged 1.1 (Synergy R50 based) - Phone and Contacts "oranged" as well as a few additional framework components. I've added the brightness slider in as standard since that's how Synergy rolls.
8/25 ClockworkOrange 2.0 - Going back to the ClockworkOrange brand for the theme. Version 2.0 so hopefully no one is confused. Inverted Gmail added as well as some additional SystemUI and framework pieces (a few more status bar icons and orange overscroll). More inverted apps to come! If you want the center clock mod flash this instead.
Credits:
All the Synergy devs
Travp624 from rootzwiki for his fantastic inverted Gapps

High guys I was hoping somebody could port motomoto's theme over to US/Verizon S3's. His new update doesn't seem to work with other S3's and if possible I would like a couple of changes to the theme.
1) Semi-transparent status bar and notification panel
2) ics blue numbers for dialer.
3) ics blue titles for notifications
4) ics blue notification symbols
5) TWRP support, he seems to only support CWM
6) I don't know if he kept the ics blue notification bubbles on his new theme but he had it on his old one and that looked awesome.
Thank You, I am sure this would be an awesome theme if somebody could make it.

The 12/7 version is same as the Aroma version for 4.1.1. The changes affected 4.1.2 and don't work anyway. To get what you are looking for flash kindacraps mods picking everything blue and black. Set transparencies to 75%. Then flash Moto's theme. To flash on TWRP swap out zipalign in the 2 VRTheme folders in the Moto zip. Zipalign can be found here. If using kindacraps mods on latest Synergy with Multi-Window do not flash the android policy mods which is the middle one of the first three options. Only flash the SystemUI and Framework mods.
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/utilities/zipalign
I was hoping somebody with theming experience could combine both themes together as a flashable zip but as soon as I get to my computer I will try changing the vrtheme.

AS OF 6/26/13 I AM NO LONGER TAKING REQUESTS.
If you have any MODs you would like for a specific ROM, please kindly request for me to make it for you. I can't promise I can make it, my skills are limited. Also, if it's a really heavy duty MOD (a lot of code, and time consuming) I may have to turn it down because of the sheer amount of time it would take to accomplish. The more requests for a given MOD, those will be done first.
I only ask you hit the "Thanks" button. It's just a sign of respect.
I do not ask of donations, BUT, I am very broke, and I do this on my very limited free time for MODs I do not use 99% of the time, I do this for the community, so if you can donate, it will be kindly accepted and highly appreciated and recognition in the second OP BUT please DO NOT feel obligated or pressured to donate, I do the MODs in terms of how easily I can get them done, so please don't feel like I am ignoring you, it's just so much is going on it's extremely hard to keep up, please also feel free to PM me if I haven't responed about the MOD and you maybe asked twice or something it's 100% not intentional so a PM will let me know, and I won't forget.
Also keep in mind this is a MOD thread not a goto for how to flash them. I ask that you please leave those questions out of the thread or PM me. If a MOD for example edits a file let's say SystemUI.apk and then you flash another one with the SystemUI.apk you are replacing the work done in the first flashed MOD. Please keep this in mind and open the .zips before flashing. Most things are not compatible if same file and needs to be edited.
If trying to donate, and the button isn't working for you my PayPal is [email protected] - thank you all so much for the donations they are so highly appreciated and go to great causes!
MOD Requests
VRBMF1
- APM (Advanced Power Menu)
- Remove WiFi annoying notification from pull down
- Lidroid Toggles, black status bar - stock colors - 100% full notification removed
- Call Recording
- Settings > About Phone > Status - Shows "Normal" Rather Than "Modified"
Not any of these were tested. Please nandroid before hand until confirmed working. Although, really the only one I am worried about not working is the lidroid toggle MOD.
Blocking Mode (Call/message block)
This is the first time this MOD is working 100% on the GSIII for VZW. NO other ROM has this feature working 100%.
To developers, please ASK
True "Blocking Mode"
Now been 100% ported to VZW using all Verizon files. Developers please ASK, I put a lot of time into this. Thanks Verizon and Samsung with your half assed coding
I personally test every MOD myself. If you have any issues, please make sure you are on the stock ROM without prior MODs, otherwise I cannot support you.

With MANY thanks to loserskater he kindly found my error and got the Volume Skip MOD working 100% (I haven't tested these, keep in mind it edits the same .jar file as in APM and/or menu to kill. so if you want that mod or don't want that MOD, and it's included in one of the .zips, let me know. Also, now I can port this to other 4.1.2 ROMs, and probably 4.1.1 as well, so if you would like that let me know)

I love the dedication man. Thanks for starting this thread... I was thinking of PM'ing you about this request too. Beans is about to drop B13 with no long press to kill mod baked in. What are the chances that the 'hold menu to kill' flashable zip from your CR 6 theme thread will work? Not sure if Beans made any changes to android.policy.jar or not.
(I know that this is a lil premature, but just throwing it out there)

This is a simple MOD, so once Beans drops his B13 ROM, I'll make a new .zip based off his android.policy.jar so as to not have any issues.

i would love the status bar expanded xml edit to get rid of the verizon wireless. everything i've tried just is riddled with errors recompiling. i can cover it by expanding the tw statusbar on and off pngs, but it still comes thru if i don't match the color perfectly.

I hate asking for donations, but if you guys have even just $5 it really does go along way! and I make sure to thank you by posting your name in post #2
I'll be getting on these requests soon, and all will be posted in post #3 with person who requested the MOD + .zip.
I ask you please do not ask for an ETA. I don't have one, and it is very rude.
Thank guys!

Easiest fix... either
1. in tw_status_bar_expanded.xml remove @id/carrier_label with android:text="blah, blah"
2. in same file just remove @id/carrier_label
Sorry andybones, not trying to steal your thunder..

Hi there,
I decided to share some changes I made to the UI, mostly to the Lockscreen as I didn't like Moto's icons.
This is "take it or leave it" If you don't agree to the things I like, please do it by yourself or leave this package alone.
This is a CWM-package, install it from there. The package will replace framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and MotGallery.apk and will delete the *.odex files, so this Mod works for odexed and deodexed systems JB 91.2.26001 en.EU.
What I did:
(framework-res.apk)
- changed icons for new lockscreen (AOSP style)
- removed the silent switch
- removed phone and messaging shortcut
- removed the SOS icon
- removed the dividers
- new lockscreen circle
- reworked the music lockscreen widget
- changed blue gradient background in many apps to solid black (since v1.4)
- changed LED blinking rate from 800/3200ms to 500/1500ms
- 2 versions to flash: Notification LED in green (standard) or blue, see attachments
(SystemUI.apk)
- removed the carrier label in status bar completely
- changed the GSM signal to standard Holo color (blue)
- reworked the standard battery icon to fit the blue of the clock, made it slightly smaller and nicer (especially the red battery icon)
- reworked signal cluster completely, no gap anymore between Wifi and GSM icon
Caution: in order to get the white camera icon working, I needed to change the standard camera icon of MotCamera.apk - so this apk will be exchanged too!
Caution: Since version 2.0 there is no need to change MotCamera.apk anymore, so I left it out of the CWM package. If you flashed the old LockscreenMod and want the stock camera (with a new fancy blue icon, see screenshot!) back, just flash JB-Camera.zip in CWM, too. This must only be done once! Clear cache and dalvik afterwards.
If you never flashed my Mod before, you don't need to flash Camera (but you may if you want).
Enjoy!
And please make a backup first, just for your convenience.
Update 1.1:
- found a nicer drag handle, added it in framework-res.apk
Update 1.2:
- changed notification LED blinking rate from 800ms/3200ms (ON/OFF) to 500ms/1500ms (unreceived calls, GMail...)
Update 1.3
- reworked signal cluster in SystemUI.apk with new standard Holo icons, no gap between Wifi and GSM icon anymore
- smaller drag handle in lockscreen, finally found the standard one
- 2 versions: Notification LED in blue or standard green (for unreceived calls, messaging, GMail, ...)
Update 1.4
- changed blue gradient background in many apps to solid black
Update 1.4.1
- Changed Lockscreen circle to a half circle
Update 2.0
- Completely rewritten unlock circle, just AOSP now, see screenshots!
- reworked music control, so that the circle fits in a whole
- since v2.0 you don't need to change MotCamera.apk anymore, read above!
Update 2.0t
- added a transparent music widget for v2.0-blue (date and carrier half transparent too)
Update 2.1
- lock circle stays in same position now, regardless if music widget is active or not
- removed carrier label, so that lock circle is in the lower third (you can see carrier if you slide down status bar)
- full date instead of abbreviated weekday (Germany only)
- from now on I will only maintain the "blue LED/transparent widget" version, as I use it myself
Update 2.1a
- same as 2.1, but with a menu button instead of the recent button, see here:

It's only possible to change the color for ALL notifications. Standard color (Mail, SMS, unreceived call, GMail) is green. Yes, this could be changed, but only for all apps together.
If you need separate colors, use LightFlow from market.
[edit]
There you go, I updated the OP with 2 new zip's, enjoy!
New version 1.4.
This will be the last update for the next time as I am completely satisfied
BLACK background instead of the blueish gradient tint in most apps and settings, looks so much nicer now. Try it with black themed Messaging.apk, looks really wonderful.
Can I use your mod ? I want to add 1% battery icon to it, and remove white and blue circles on lockscreen.
BTW. Great mod, thanks.

Nothing I ldon't like how the blue circle looks at all, and the white gets truncated when sound widget is visible, so I've removed both them. It looks simpler, but I like it. I'll upload picture tommorow.
Although I didn't want to update, I took your inspiration to create a new (half) lockscreen circle with a small blue one, see screenshots in OP.
Just a minor update to 1.4.1

I like what you have done with the SystemUI. Well, at least I like the changelog I am going to try it, and see how it looks like.
Do you think you could also incorporate the following change:

Personally I prefer the smaller standard clock, but you may change it by yourself in /res/values/styles.xml in SystemUI.apk
Interesting though that I removed the "-6.0dip" margin at the Wifi icon and we can see now, that AOSP has it in, it overlaps the signal bar... sigh. Thought this was Motorola's fault.
Sure you can use everything in your mod if you like it!
(i.e. it costs $10 per changed code line )

Sorry to be a noob, but how do I edit SystemUI.apk? All my versions of apktool and aapt fail when trying to decompile it, and in 7zip I cannot find /res/values/
Try it with these files, these are mine:

You need correct JB framework though.
This is nice. Thank you for your effort!
Can you do that "sprinkle" lock button from AOSP?

Thanks again!

I updated the mod minutes after that, because the unlock button was slightly screen off. Look at your lock icon when unlocking, if it's capped, you have the wrong package, just download again.
Thanks for your kind words!
Definitely nice work dude, I like it. I'm currently uploading an AOSP Black Out Pack, of course all Credits are given to you.
What I would like to see is the Eclipse 1% Battery Icon (Request )

Regarding 1% Battery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxFIVX1s
Maybe there's another one who likes to implement this, not me, sorry
[edit]
Your standard BlackOutPack is missing the MotCamera.apk - you used the old framework in that package, this should be together in that case, as the "old" lockring uses the icon of the MotCamera.apk.
Either add the cam, or use only the new AOSP package, there is no changed camera needed. Just FYI to minimize support requests
Hello everyone!
I'd like to present the first "real theme" for LG G3
The story behind is that I just hate LG's UI, it's so childish and cartoonish and just awfull so I wanted to change that, I want a different theme, a better one.
First I wanted a stock theme but for that everyone can flash a stock aosp rom and for G3 roms there are plenty of aosp theme and then it hit me...Samsung...Touchwiz...more precisely Galaxy S7's Touchwiz so I started working on that and trust me, LG's own framework is a pain in the a*s. It was so difficult and hard to get that but finally I did it.
So now I present you my theme, Touchwiz...ish Theme for LG G3 (based on Fulmics 4.2)
Compatibility:
Fulmics 4.2 for now. Should be compatible with any stock MM rom but you may lose a few tweaks!

- "clear all" buton change to match samsung's one
- changed notification padding to look better
- better animation for recent apps page
Framework-res - making overall action bar bigger
- changind overall action bar icons to match stock marshmallow and touchwiz

- animation from touchwiz
- dividers, switches and more icons from touchwiz
Settings - theming Settings (only list view)
- V1.3
Contacts - Themed as touchwiz
- V1.3.1
SystemUI - Clock in statusbar padded like Samsung
- Clear all button in recent smaller

ENJOY!!!
Best looking theme I have ever seen for G3.
Many thanks.

Awesome!
I will test and report back.

It's compatible with Fulmics 3.1 as well.
Thanks!
