[Q] [q] sapp100 rom?

Sorry for super newbie question: I just want to update an HTC Magic SAPP100 to a new version of Android (2.x), and all I find when I google is people asking how to do unlock it (I donĀ“t want to unlock it, it is already unlocked, I guess what I want is to root it), or people that have bricked their phone, or guides for Sapphire models that seem not to be the same as mine (32A and 32B are always mentioned, but mine in SAPP100).
Any ideas to enlighten me? Thanks very much.
PS: Can I use this guide? forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f606/htc-magic-stuck-voda-screen-1205134/#post_message_6944450

[Q] May I ask for an advice?!

Hi all, guys!
First of all I want to say thanks to all who get this great forum updated with ROMs, guides and tutorials! I've read all of the most interesting threads and I'm ready to put my hands on my Desire S I'm waiting!
I need only a little advice. The Desire S I'm waiting is branded by my national operator. No SIM lock or other, only some personalizations.
I think I'll debrand it at light speed, flashing an official ROM and then proceed to unlock it / root it.
And here I need ur advice: do you think it's better to flash an old official ROM to unlock and S-OFF with Revolutionary, or to flash the latest and unlock with the HTC tool?! What are the benefits to have S-Off / Unlock VS S-On / Unlock?
Thank you in advance!

If you unlock with HTCDev HTC may notice what you did to your phone. So there is a bigger chance of voiding your warranty.
Also if you s-off you will have much more possibilities for customizing your phone. And everything you do will be much more easy (flashing ROM, changing radio, kernel etc.)
So I would really recommend you not to use htcdev but to s-off your phone by yourself

Ditto.
But if this is the first time you're doing all this, i suggest a few days worth of reading about RUUs, CID, Goldcard, Misc_version, etc, before you contemplate changing branded phone firmware. You may not need it, but knowing this stuff is like having a condom - It's better to have one and not need it, rather that need one and not have it!
Thank u for replies!!!

LOOOL, u're definitively right (about condoms first!!!) !!!
As I said in my post I've read hundreds of posts and tutorials about goldcard and debranding, warranty, S-OFF and many others stuff.
I've downloaded the possible and the unpossible about Desire S!!! And I haven't the phone yet!!! LOOOOOL
Make sure you read the sticky thread in development section. It really helped me a lot when i started. As for roms to enjoy your mobile phone since its new i would suggest not to go to ics yet since some stuff are not functional. Go for 2.3.7 roms mostly. Welcome to Android side and hf.

Thank you nikolaaas.
I know ICS for Saga is not fully functional (yet?! ;D ;D) and a little buggy.
Hope developers may find better solutions when ICS will be official for Saga!
In my case I'd like first of all to debrand my phone and then try some custom ROM (I've read great things about MIUI or Runnymede based ROMS).
By the way I'm not really new in Android experience. As you can see in my signature, thank to great people, I use Android 2.3 in my reallllllly old Polaris since 2 years (with some problems, obviously, but nothing really bad!)! I think that these are the things that make great Android and this group of developers!!!!
Thanks!!!

[Q] HTC Sensation Root Information

Hi everyone,
Im new to XDA Developers I have tried to search for the answer to my question but have not had much luck. If someone could help me, i would really appreciate it.
I want to root my HTC sensation XL, but I am unsure about the correct way to do it. Im hoping someone could give me a quick run through of the correct way to do this so that I do not brick my phone. Thanks A lot guys.
Also, I went to HTCdev and tried to unlock my bootloader but I cant find my device, I wasn't 100% sure if it would be Sensation (EU) or if i should select 'All other supported model'

[Q] WP7 Full Unlock for HTC Titan

Okay, I want to full unlock an HTC Titan. My understanding is that first I need to put HSPL on it using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684912. Then I need to cook the full unlock files found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2021180 into a custom ROM such as the one provided by DFT here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684907 using the tools and methods detailed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970370.
Doing all this will give me an HTC Titan with a fully unlocked custom ROM that I can use on a cell carrier in the United States? Did I mess up somewhere or is everything here? I really don't to buy a new phone just to brick it.
Thanks in advance for any help provided and my apologies that I am unable to provide specific phone info as I have not bought the phone yet.

[Completed] Considering rooting my device

Hey, so recently I've seen quite a few good and useful advantages for rooting my phone but a few disadvantages if i did decide to root my device, I would go ahead with this process however I'm not sure where to go from here and if i should actually root my phone.
I have a HTC One Mini and I've got a few questions about rooting since I haven't really done it before just read about it and watched videos about it,
Some questions I have:
If I did decide to root my phone what would be the best way(e.g. the most trusted/popular tutorial for rooting etc) and where should I go from here?
If I did root it, what would be the chance of bricking it and actually breaking it fully to the point of no return?
If I did go and root it is there any way to revert back to a non-rooted device or will it be rooted forever if I do root it?
Is there anything else I would need to know before I did root it?
Thank you for reading.

Best way is too read the HTC One Mini > One Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > Frequently Asked Questions thread.
Q2 is about rooting.
You can find more useful information and guides in the HTC One Mini > One Mini General forum.
And if you have further questions, please ask in the HTC One Mini > One Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.

Bricking it would be a very miniscule chance. I doubt you would brick your phone because it only will happen if something just went AWOL.
As for unrooting possiblilities, It is possible. Don't know how you can unroot a HTC One Mini but im sure there is a easy way.
