So I bought a 16GB GNote last week, and Amazon app store worked fine.
I swapped it yesterday for a 32GB model, and installed Amazon app store. But it won't let me install ANY apps. It gives me a message that the device is not compatible with the app, no matter which app I select.
I logged in to Amazon and checked my device list: I only had 7 in the list. I deleted the ones I hadn't used for a while, so now I just my phone and the GNote. But this didn't fix the problem.
Anyone else having this problem, or have a solution? Amazon's support staff did not, and could only tell me that the Galaxy Note is NOT yet on the list of compatible devices.
If this makes a difference: My GNote last week had the update that Samsung pushed out, but this GNote does not since that update has been halted.
Thanks.
JC
I have the Amazon app store working fine on mine. Before and after the update. I had a 16 g that had the update- currently i am using it on 32g that did not get the samsung update... Just used Amazon app store a few mins ago.
Maybe try the usual stuff- clear cache, data, even uninstall and install back, reboot your device.
Hope that helps.

ive noticed as well that some apps will say "not compatible" as well. Started recently. But the clock and widget also dont update unless i restart. I will try again when i get home to see if that was the issue.

Thanks for weighing in. I've been able to install Angry Birds and Sketchbook since I first posted. But the other apps I try (like Virtual Printer) insist they are not compatible. But I am sure that some of the apps now marked "not compatible" were apps I installed last week!
Oh well. Maybe my memory is going...

Thanks-- I tried all that stuff, but no dice. Except for Angry Birds and Sketchbook, I am unable to install apps. We'll see...
No problems here. Using Amazon App Store since day one. Just installed another app without a problem. Didn't do anything special to set up. Is it possible you got a non US model by mistake? FWIW, I didn't take the update?
Solved: Amazon app store demands an SD card!
Thanks to XDA forum veteran SteelH, I have the solution, from the thread linked below.
Long story short: SD Card. Since I upgraded to 32GB internal storage, I didn't bother to put in my piddly 2GB micro-SD card. Apparently Amazon expects the device to have a card present for certain cache files, and without it some apps will not install.
So, I put the card in, and it seems fixed.
Here's the link to the Nook thread where I found the solution.

Anyone else getting the error "There was a temporary error signing you in. Please try again in a few moments" when trying to login to the app store? I am using the latest LeeDroid rom, started getting the error last night around midnight, still getting it today.
Thanks and sorry if this has been covered but I did a search and didn't see anything.
Also Hello all this is my first post, really enjoy the site and all the information on here.
Welcome to XDA.
I'm not having any issues w/ the Amazon App Store on CM7 #69.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Same thing is happening to me, cannot sign me in. Frustrating cause i have alot of apps on there that i cant get to. I realize this is for the inspire 4g, but i have an Incredibile and its not working for me either and i have tried several roms, including CM #73. Now on MIUI GB and still not working. Sucks..
I just checked and it is working for me.
I logged on to amazon's site and edited my devices, removed them from amazon profile, then reinstalled on my phone. Works fine now. Not sure what had happened.

haha that worked, i went and de-registered about 15 of my phones. i guess flashing ROMS so much and things changing i added my phone differently each time to amazon and it only allows so many registrations. Hope this helps someone else.
I had the same problem and customer service told me I had 22 phone registered.
Thanks a lot guys this was exactly the issue, I had 25 phones registered. guess swapping phones back and forth and changing roms almost weekly didn't make amazon very happy.

Zero devices, same error.
I got the same error, but removing devices didn't work, unfortunately. I have zero devices on my amazon account, I've reinstalled the app a few times already, and even verified my password. Still didn't work. No idea what to do here. Any advice?
Hello all, while messing around trying to root some Chinise tablets I have been buying thu Aliexpress.com I came across this program callled MOBOROBO. It can be found at www.moborobo.com. It is a free program and I use it to manage all my android devices. I allows full management of almost any android device that I connect to my pc.
Just received my 32Gb S4. After finding out about the space issue and found out the 32GB was coming, I marched right in the ATT store and swapped. Had to pay the restocking fee but felt it was worth it. I have already rooted the phone and was thinking of disabling the bloatware while I wait for recovery ROM.
I just came home from work and connected my phone to the pc because while out today I decided to bite the bullet and took the OTA from ATT. Update went well, did not see any difference to nothing on phone except that it killed ROOT. I connected my phone and moborobo came up. I minimized it while I re-ROOT-ed my S4. I then went back to mess with moborobo to do a backup (I use it sometimes even though I have TiBU.) I then clicked on the apps tap at the top and noticed it listed all the apps on the phone. The was also a list of system apps. Went to the list and decided to uninstall some of the bloat. I figured maybe they won't be deleted, no prob if they don't I could then "disable".
To my surprise moborobo UNINSTALLED ALL the apps I threw at it. I was very cautious, I did not uninstall everything, only the ones I was sure of. Now I can always go back and do the others when I am sure I need to. Please check it out.
i just tried it and it works on att apps i just delete all this att crab.but this program doesn't know my phone name.

If your drivers are installed it will show your device name. While the program is running try disconnecting and reconnecting your phone. I have used it with my S4 (SGH-I337) my wife's S3 (SGH-I737) my older S2 (SGH-I777) and last night a friend came by with an S3 from t-mobile and when I connected it it came up (SGH-I339) I think. I don't have the most updated version of the program ( was not sure about keeping it) but mine starts up as soon as I connect my phone and sometimes it does not readily show my phone name.
Titanium Backup is my fave app to remove bloatware and back up all my apps and call history & text mssgs:

Both require root, of course.

I just deleted the AT&T apps along with yahoo and that yp stuff. Since I just got the phone I wanted to check out everything and decide what I want to get rid of. I read somewhere in this forum, someone posted a long list of all the apps including the Samsung ones. However I am going to be cautious so nothing gets messed up before we have some good ROMS coming from the great xda-developers kitchens. Some of the apps are not easy to identify from their apk, example: ATT navigator, the apk says telenav....apk.

I am with you on those apps being good apps, I am not sure however if TiBU actually remove the apps or just freeze them. I have used it to freeze apps the I could not delete or wish to return to at a later time.
In all of this though, one thing has come to my mind. Even if we remove all the bloatware, we still do not have more space because all of this reside in the special partition that we do not have access to until it is re-partition or allowed access in a recovery ROM. With all the removal that I have done I did not see an increase of space available. Going back to moborobo I can see that my system file list have been greatly reduced but my available space have not increased. I have therefore concluded that removing bloatware will only console me to the fact that all that junk is not on my phone. The 6.5Gb used for system files and bloatware is a partition that was set aside. I could be wrong on this so if necessary please teach me.
Yep, with Titanium backup you can either freeze or permanently uninstall any app or system app.
My S4 is still in FedEx' hands so I haven't had a chance to see the file system yet.
Speaking of FedEx. I'm in Austin, Texas. FedEx picked up the phone from AT&T in Ft Worth Texas. Now the tracking shows it is in Memphis, TN for some reason.

Yeah, returned the 16g ver for the 32g yesterday rooted that sucker using my new and improved S4-Chopper, rom toolbox uninstalling apps & backing it up using titanium pro then started tweaking it... I would suggest making a list delete 4 apps then back-up del 4 mo then back-up. That way you can get this monster the way you want it... mine is pumping out Slightly over 13000 on quadrant so im happy!!
It goes to Memphis because that is FedEx's main hub. So all packages go though there first

Memphis is FedEx's Hub. Everything goes through there, even when it means going from Texas to Memphis and back to Texas. The Postal Service does similarly if I mail a letter to someone in town. It goes to the regional hub (30 miles West from home and back to home.

Let's try to keep all Q&A's for this tablet in one thread for now. Wonder if I should drop tips here too?
Autocreates junk files
ONE folder gets filled with junk files which renders the entire tablet almost unusable. I can't even delete the files.
All I can do is to shut down the tablet, connect the SD to a pc and backup all files, EXCEPT the backup folder as it's corrupted.
My tablet is running on Android 4.1.x (it DOES say "x" in the phone info) stock rom with root access.
It's ONLY folders called something with "Backup", like "Backups" and "TitaniumBackup" that have been affected so far.
It's also only the folder with that name on my EXTERNAL SD that's affected.
Several virus scans have been performed which came up clean.
I even wiped the entire unit including System/data/cache, also to no avail.
This issue happens MORE than once per day. The tablet gets very sluggish, and the files are there.
I found out that when I did NOT have a folder with "backup" in it, then it runs for days with no issues.
Note that I also have a phone (LG Optimus 2X) which have NO problems. The phone uses a rooted Android 4.2.2 custom rom.
I attached a dual screenshot showing a clean folder and one full of junk. Note dates for creation.
Anyone have any ideas as to what causes it?
Further testing shows that other folders are ALSO affected, but ONLY folders containing Titanium Backup Pro backup files.
Even more testing shows that even if I try to use a sub-sub folder, then it still happens.
I even tried using a folder name containing spaces and danish national letters:
"/mnt/external_sd/Titanium/Sikkerhedskopier/HÃ¥ber at denne mappe virker/"
Still get the junk files, as seen on the screenshot.
Note the reported size and date of the files.
Dates seem very random, and although all file managers shows the SDCard is almost empty,
then the files put together adds up to much more than the 16GB the card is in size. So something is NOT right.
I have also noted that I can delete SOME of them with Root Explorer, but as soon as I do a refresh then new files are already made.
Logcat only shows files deleted, but not added.
I could REALLY use some help with this.
FURTHER testing shows the files are ONLY created when Titanium Backup Pro is set to do regular backups, so I am beginning to suspect it's a combination of my tablet AND Titanium that is the cause.
I have noticed my tablet kills the menu at what to ME is random intervals.
It doesn't matter if I even USE the tablet, just as long as it's on.
Anyone have an idea what might be the cause and maybe how to fix it?
I have attached an alogcat file, from a point where it happened.
I WANTED to attach it, but it seems like I am not allowed... can't even use smilies????
Managed to attach the logcat that failed the other day.
Must admit that I an beginning to wonder if I just write for my self, or somebody is actually READING this?

TIP!
How to add GPS functionality to the tablet using an Android phone:
1. Download "Bluetooth GPS" from Google Play to the tablet.
2. Download "GPS over BT" from Google Play to the phone.
3. Pair the two devices.
4. Start up the programs and connect from the tablet to the phone.
This has been tested with a 4.2.3 phone and a 4.1.x tablet.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I believe we are talking/looking at 2 different versions of the same thing though. Probably same hardware with just a little bit different versions of firmware/software. Odys/Xelio. I don't have mine in hand yet, should have sometime next week and will defiantly let you know how it goes when I get it, still learning the Android OS, have had a Nexus 7 for a little over a year now, and a HTC Evo 4G LTE for some months now, so this tablet was purchased just for the 10" screen for reading and have sold my Nexus waiting for the 7-2 (STILL)..
I had links to both, but still can't post URL's yet, sorry
Eh what were you thinking about then, when talking about Google Play Store?
I want to help when I can
Update: Early morning here so...
It's not the Xelio10Pro you are getting?

Well, I got it yesterday sideloaded the Play Store and several other apps & apk's with no issues, it seems to be a very light a sleek little tablet with no bloatware at all, I really want to like this tablet but the LCD screen is just awful. I really wish I could adjust contrast or something more then just brightness, the glossy face on it and the res just make it really hard to read or look at any sort of pictures, to just read text isn't bad but with pics it just has such a glare and brightness it's just weird to explain. I had already ordered some generic 10.1" tablet screen protectors and they should be here in a few days, so I am really hoping that they are a little bit matte and it'll help or fix the glare issue as I really want to like this tablet.
I know how you feel.
I generally have issues with the touch sensitivity, but have gotten used to it now.
I also noticed the reflection from the screen, which is pretty bad. Makes the tablet useless in sunlight. Hope you can give some good news on that when you get the cover.
It IS good as an ebook reader as long as your surroundings isn't too bright.
I also think it is quite powerful, considering the price.

I have been in contact with Odys support with a few questions.
They told me that they will NOT update the tablet. Not even to 4.2.2. They claim it requires too much of the hardware,
even though I told them I have a phone with only one fourth the memory of the tablet and a smaller CPU running 4.2.2 smoothly.
It seems like they have decided to solve all problems with a standard answer: reflash the stock firmware.
They even told me to do that AFTER I told them I already tried that.

I decided NOT to use my external SD card after the last two restores to factory default (including full flash of factory firmware).
First time after that restore, I installed Titanium Backup Pro, and set up a schedule as always.
This resulted in my INTERNAL SD card became read-only.
Only way to fix that was another firmware flash.
I then decided NOT to install Titanium Backup Pro again.
The tablet has been working perfectly ever since.

And no, you're not the only person with this tablet. I can't help you at ll, but I am very interested in this post, I live in China, and despite most of the technology being built here, it is not easy for a Westerner to A) get hands on stuff B) get information on, and C) not get ripped off in the process of A) and B). So far, I haven't had the displeasure of C.
Actually, I see elsewhere that there is another user posting about trying to get GApps onto his N9006 and not having much success getting infomation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454079&page=17 . Not sure if that is because he is a complete Noob, or whether it is because no one knows or both.
So, I'm wondering about the N9002 and the N9006. Did the aforementioned N9002 come unlocked and with GApps installed? Is a dual sim even useful?
How does it differ from the N9006, I wonder? Also, can I root them easily, as I am sure they won't come with GApps (sigh!) I had no problem rooting a Chinese s4 for a friend, but it was an i9500 and didn't have a strange model number.
Has anyone got one of either the N9002 or N9006 and had success? It is a bloody awful amount of dosh to pay for a phone, if it doesn't work properly for an English or non Mandarin native user.
Look forward to hopefully seeing some replies and advice.
Cheers.
When I got mine, I made sure the saleman install Google apps for me. I got play store, gmail, and everything. But I don't know how. All I know is you can do it somehow. Even I factory reset, and I can still use google apps.
I rooted it myself. I just googled it and find the necessary .tar files. And flashed with Odin.
The n9002 support dual standby and dual call (concurrently). The first sim supports hsdpa but the second sim only supports gprs.
I bought this for my brother who has to travel a lot. With the large battery, I think this is thd perfect travel phone. Buy a data sim oversea and put it in as sim1 for data and put in the native sim in sim2 to such that all business partners can continue to reach you.
Hope this helps.

What is the internal GB - is it 16 or 32 GB ? How's the battery life ? I am also looking to buy one from HK ( i live in India, would be visiting HK in the next 15 days or so ) .
.............also, where did u buy it from ? I hope it has no regional Lock issues ?
It is a 16gig. I can't report on the battery yet. Still testing. There is no region lock issue. I use my HK sim to turn it on (it is a China phone).
I bought it at OceanTec Mobile at Shop G61, Sincere House Comm. Podium, 83 Argyle Street, Mong Kok.
The price I got it for is $6980 hong kong dollars.
I am not associated with this shop. Just bought it there.

I bought a n9002 yesterday in China, and I am a non-native. It is 16GB and they didn't seem to offer any different. At first they asked me if I wanted a China Mobile (carrier) phone, and I said no so they got me a different one. They asked for my sim card so we could check that it would work but they did not let me see them turn it on. It worked but when I turn it off and on at home it has Unicom (other carrier) crap on it, even without the sim card inside. So I thought I was getting carrier unlocked but possibly not.
There aren't any Google apps and instead there is a Unicom one. Search for things like Skype, and you get the Chinese (monitored) version. It's the same with the magazine, you can only join Chinese social accounts. I added a VPN and went to Facebook and tried downloading the app, but it seems any URL starting with market:// isn't loading.
I downloaded Google play to my computer and used bluetooth to send it across to N9002. I had a warning about installing software from unsupported markets but a change in setting let me install it, but it won't run.
I'm all right with technology but this is my first ever Android device so I have never rooted before. I would like to go back to the shop and see what I can do but yesterday was manic because it's a national holiday (that's why i didn't hang around very long) and it might be like that for the next couple of days.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for starting this thread.
Blizza,
I got my google play installed by the salesman. But I think the following link should work. it seems pretty simple and just use Odin to flash.
https://support.mobicity.com/entrie...Play-Store-on-the-Dual-SIM-Galaxy-S4-GT-i9502
I was able to root.
It is pretty simple as well. You can just follow the followings:
Flash CWM Recovery with Odin using this: Down volume, home, and power together.
https://hotfile.com/dl/246835247/21b6180/n9006-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.7(0922).tar.html
Flash the .tar for root using this with the CWM Recovery: Up volume, home, and power together.
http://www.netded.com/xiao_1.php?url=http://pan.baidu.com/s/1yy9IP
If you don't know how to use Odin, then let me know. Try at your own risk....
Use titanium backup Pro (paid version) or search some Freeze App in Google Play to freeze all the bloatwares. Mine is all good now.
Thanks for the advice and I really want to try it but I am using Mac OSX so I can't use Odin. However there might be another solution in Heimdall. I'm still looking into it but that was a very encouraging video.

Let me know if you figure it out, I just bought a 9002 as well and the Unicom store sucks... My grief with it is less with the terrible design but more of whatever app you download from that store does not show up in your application list!! Also I feel a little uncomfortable with apps coming from Unicom knowing a lot of my info.
Tried downloading G-Play but it would not run (would install ok, but would not open)
I too only have a mac atm but if what it takes is a PC to fix the problem, I'll gladly go and buy a cheapo one.
Overall its a great phone, I have my China number and a my HK SIM card in the phone and they both work great. Also navigation is really really fast. I also have a single SIM S4 that I bought in HK.
Found this while doing research into this, its in Chinese so not sure how that may help you guys. Guy is promising 100% success rate into installing Google Play.
I might get a PC so I can try this out to see if it works...
Edit:
I am a new user so I am unable to post external links... search n9002 google play and its on a 52samsung forum
This might be a bit long but points out what I have noticed is different or missing from 9002 version.
1. Google Apps, including Play 2. Only 3 languages (Korean, Chinese & English) 3. Only 1 keyboard (Samsung Chinese IME) 4. Magazine only allows access to Samasung partner apps in China (Sina Weibo & Renren) 4. Samsung Hub is in Chinese 5. Numerous widgets use Chinese partners (i.e. Baidu search, not Google).
(Feel free to add to this list, I should be able to go back and edit additions in).
My perfect scenario would be to flash and install something that makes it all Western style, but that might take some time for this version.
On the Rooting side I thank Yatbond greatly for his help, the links were very helpful despite my not being able to use the PC. You can still get the needed files.
There is a Mac OS X alternative, Heimdall, which uses terminal. I have seen a video on youtube that demonstrates the process on a Mac and Note 2 (I can't post external links yet but search 'root note 2 with mac osx' and you will see it, or visit galaxynote2root dot com. This method requires having the restore on the SD card which I will go and buy today.
I am a noob so i am being a bit careful but I think that a mix of yatbond's and Heimdall has the answer for mac and 9002 users, it's just be great to have a guide of some sorts.
I am going to check Infuras link now, and see if I can use the translator to make progress.
Yatbond, I noticed that one of the files is n9006-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.7(0922)-fix-adb.tar - n9006 not 9002 is OK?

Infura led me towards the Chinese 52samsung forums and after a search i found 2 posts. 1 gives the same files as Yatbond's however another one linked to a different recovery file. Here is the link http://bbs.52samsung.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=713202
I used the translator and it mentions recovering using n9005 (HK) and goes onto say that performance is improved.
OK, quick update before my laptop battery dies. I went to the Official Samsung shop where I brought the phone and they said 'no can do' and that it was impossible for these dual sim phones to come with Google pre-installed because they are for the Chinese market. However he told me where I could get it rooted. I went there, the kid had never done one before and was trying to use, what looks like a very easy, Chinese app. However it's a new device and he couldn't do it. I had downloaded the files that yebot gave me before, and we watched the note3root.com video and did it. However no Google play, so then we watched the video yebot sent me too, and we did it! I've got Play working, downloaded Titanium backup and also got rid of a few Chinese bloatware apps. I'm still having issues getting facebook and skype though, and quite a lot of the store app descriptions are showing in Chinese or Cantonese so maybe it isn't quite right.
Mac OS X users, I didn't want to try it myself until a video guide was done. Borrow a PC or wait until note3root.com shows you how (but he doesnt show the adding of google play, and the CW versions are different to what yebot linked us to).
I will update when I have done more.
Blizza,
I think you are fine. The file for 9006 is fine. That is the one I used. It is a recovery file, and so should be ok.
You are obviously in china. Play store probably is in Chinese because of that. And facebook probably won't work in China.
Now, try resetting your phone and set it up again. This should clear all locale that has been set initially.
You should be able to keep root. And hopefully play, which I am not sure. Or alternatively, you can go into all related apps from application Manger in settings and clear their cache and data.

There is a special package for google apps you need to flash in recovery. The samsung rep is probably a clueless kid, i will post details when i will be back home ( tonight chinese time ).

Please do. I'm a laowai in BJ who accidentally ended up with the 9002 and stuck without GApps... I've managed to root it with CF-Auto-Root but the only GPlay apk I could find will install but not open.
Thanks to everyone in this thread, it's been immensely helpful to someone who never even considered rooting a phone before.

A follow up that, like Blizza, I got mine to work now it seems. It took a long time of mixed up confusion, but it looks like if you only root using CF-Auto-Root, that it doesn't allow GApps to be installed, because the recovery hasn't been flashed to CWM (or I did my flash wrong).
Using the cwm files for the 9006, I was able to follow this guide:
galaxynote3root DOT com/galaxy-note-3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-3/
and then use the GApps package listed here:
support.mobicity DOT com/entries/22148360-How-to-flash-the-Google-Play-Store-on-the-Dual-SIM-Galaxy-S4-GT-i9502
to get GApps installed and set up.
I can't thank the contributors to this thread enough, I could never have figured this out without this thread and I'd be stuck with the chinese apps that I can't read...
Excuse me while I go play with my new phone finally. (and donate after confirming everything's looking good :good
Hi,
I just got my Galaxy Watch and I am pretty happy with it except for one thing. Google Pay... Before buying it I researched and came to the conclusion that GPay is working as it should on the watch. Well it seems that is not always the case. When I downloaded the app it prompted me to add a card and everything was ok. Until it requested to be the default payment app. In the settings there is only the option for Samsung Pay, which is not supported in my country. There is no option to skip making it a default app so it is unusable. I searched for people with the same problem and found only one thread on reddit but nothing more. I tried downgrading the app to the older version from october I think but it stays the same.
Is there any way to make it work? I don't know if it matters but I bought mine from Amazon Germany. I have attached some screenshots.
Hi!
I had exact same issue and honestly there are plenty people out there that struggling with that, I tried this yesterday: https://forum.xda-developers.com/posts/85581263/ and it worked although the next day my watch got unpaired from my phone for some reason and I had to reset it but I've seen people saying it worked for them so maybe you can give it a try. You can also find some threads with people complaining in the Samsung community about gpay https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/wearables/google-pay-on-galaxy-watch-4-not-working/td-p/4373741, https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/wearables/google-pay/td-p/4821359, https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/wearables/cant-get-google-pay-to-work-on-my-watch/td-p/4794609 etc seems like it's pretty buggy unfortunately
Thank you for replying. I just saw you had posted about the same problem eariler, how did I miss it... I tried the steps and the results are partial. It did not appear in the NFC menu but it doesn't prompt to be the default app and shows my card! I will try to make a purchase tomorrow and I hope it will still work.
