Miui themes not changing - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Just last night I installed miui from on my sgs2 skyrocket. None of the themes are applying. I no that people have said to make the folder themes in data/system/ but I don't even have a system folder under data. So what should I do? Thanks in advance!

Im not trying to get hand fed... i researched this before i asked believe me

Try this one
su
mkdir /data/system/theme
chmod 777 /data/system/theme
cd /system/etc/init.d
I think that's what I had done for my gf phone to get themes working. I don't own a skyrocket myself.
That should create the proper theme folder needed and set the proper permissions for it to work.
Oh also the reason you do not see the folder system under data is due to the file explorer you are using either does not have root permissions or does not support viewing the files. ES File Explorer needs settings change to view root folders before you are able to see it. Well long story short just use those commands in a Terminal Emulator app and you should be good.

Are we going to have one of these threads in every subforum?
Everyone will be discussing the same thing, it'll just be spread out to 100 different discussions instead of 1 thread.

I tried to install it in gingerbread. After installing my system kept giving me the no more space error when trying to install apps. Does this one use more memory than previous markets? I'm sure gingerbread takes up it's fair share already.

Work for all phones?
It at least works on this phone, and should on others. Just backup your market and try it. If it doesn't work, just restore the original.

Stop complaining. Nothing wrong with posting things like this in different forums/sub-forums. Not everybody ventures every part of this website. It can be found in main Android forum but not too many people actually venture. So far you are the only one complaining.
OP: THanks man, love it.

How do you do that with gingerbread and no bootloader (so no cwm)?

I'm already convinced that until their is more figured out about gingerbread on our device, or someone modifies the new market for 2.3.3 on our device, it simply will not work. There has not been a whole lot of optimization besides deodexing, and gingerbread already seems a little jammed into our device (have to delete bloat for a little system rom space). I can imagine that the bells and whistles in the new market, along with the rest of gingerbread's goodness, takes the phone to it's limits (although when I check it, it seems to have plenty of available memory).

You can set permission through adb:
Navigate to your adb directory and type:
Code:
adb shell
su (go to phone select allow)
cd /system
busybox chmod 777 /system/app
busybox chmod 644 /system/app/*
reboot
No guarantee this will fix your problems but it should fix any permission issues.
Edit:
oops wrong thread.
But Thank you for the Info.
I'm liking the New market.
Edit 2.
Has anyone noticed some apps are not showing up.

Mod Close Thread Please

Just flash
ONLY FOR ICS ROMS
This may or may not work on Infuse.
Does not work on GB
http://db.tt/otFbO1aP
You have to extract the TouchWiz app and lib file from zip with Root Explorer or something similar.Place the TouchWiz apk in System/app and give permissions RW--R--R. Place the lib in System/libs and give permissions RW--R--R. Reboot device.

Didn't do anything on Dark Knight
Same here did nothing
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA
You have to move the lib to system/libs with root explorer
Edit: Give me a sec
It will not work on GB just on ICS roms. I couldn't get it to work on Dark Knight or INFINITUM v2.2
Will someone check to see if it works on CM9 or Nuns AOKP?

I just reset my phone back to stock, using Odin, and added the files perspectively into a Custom Version of UniPorn I have and rezipped it, I'll get back with you to see if it all works or not.. BTW, I also added S Voice to the mix.
In Addition, not sure if everyone else is having the same problem, but I noticed that when I go into recovery and Factory reset all user data, Wipe Cache and Dalvik cache, then Flash a Rom, the Rom will start up no problem, but it'll be like I didn't flash another Rom, it'll load up exactly the way it just was as if I didn't even do a wipe or anything, I've never experienced that, it's really weird. So all that being said, I'm using Odin to go back to stock and see what happens after I finally get back to ICS.. lol..

You do nothing with it. Its only there for flashing the zip, which only installs the app and not the needed lib file.

It possible it does not work on the Infuse yet. It could just require an edit to build.prop.Idk. I didn't get to mess with it long on my wife's Infuse before she ripped it from my hands. Lmao. She didn't really, it was a great visual though huh? So I didn't try any edits to build.prop to check.

Good luck flashing those apps to your system you don't have the space our system partition is only 598mb theirs has to be at least a gig because that's the size of the system folder installing one by one to test out though should be fine

It's best to all Seanz to make a flashable zip for that normally modding those apks can cause conflicts. Or if you wanna give it a shot yourself you can pull the apks from a stock Ics ROM and use root explorer to write and fix permissions in the system/app or system/data

Should I even consider Rom Manager?

I have heard from sources that rom manager is a quick and easy way to get CWM and Roms onto my phone, but then I hear from other people that it will brick the skyrocket. Can someone put this into perspective for me?

This it's a question you could've answered yourself by spending five minutes with the search button. ROM Manager is good for fixing permissions and making paperweights on the Skyrocket, and that's about it.
