Tmobile replacements reddish tint - HTC One S

Soo I've been getting my one s replaced throughout the weeks cause my first ones screen wouldn't register my space bar at times a lot .. so the first one they sent me had a crazy red tint to i compared it to my original phone in the settings menu with full brightness on both phones and it had a red tint on a white background .. so I went to T-Mobile and the guy there had them send me another one (the guy agreed the tint wasn't right) .. I got the second replacement yesterday and that phones power button wouldn't work so I couldn't even get it turned on so I called T-Mobile and 25 minutes later she had them ship me out another one .. so today I get the third replacement phone and it also has a reddish tint to it (not as bad as the first replacement phone but its there ) so I took it back into T-Mobile and showed them the 2 replacement phones compared to my original and the manager was completely against sending me out another one even though she admitted to seeing the difference between both of them and my original ... So are these phones supposed to have a tint and not be fully white and my original was just a fluke ? Or are all their refurb phones just messed up ... Another guy working there agreed to do another swap for me (he also agreed about seeing the tints although he said he coulda lived with the third replacement phone) but their system was down so now I gotta call them back and get it done .. another thing the manager was saying was that she can't keep replacing my phone cause its not the exact shade of white that I want .. that kinda pissed me off cause shouldn't all the phones be the same ? My family has 3 other ones besides mine which we all bought together on release and their screens are white white too so I just don't get it .... I added a pic on the bottum of the three and I believe you can see the red tints in the picture too but let me know what you guys think
Phone on left is my original phone and the right 2 are replacements

T-mobile send out a replacement phone and you have so many days to send back the "broken" unit once you received the "replacement".

Ahaha fort you were lucky and they didn't ask for them back lol shame you already lost them

MT4G w/ "Superior" Screen Vs. Iphone 4

This is a shot of my replacement MT4G with the "Superior" screen compared to my wife's iPhone 4. Colors on the iPhone Retina still look better but at least my MT4G is in the ballpark as my "inferior" screen before this one displayed the same picture in a salmon color.

It's the luck of the draw. Just keep returning it till you get a good one. Newer batch seems to have a higher probability.

I did get my replacement, and compared it to my co workers iphone 4, and I can confirm it is up to par or slightly better in some cases than the iphone 4, as far as picture sharpness... I think the Mytouch has the edge, coz you can adjust brightness, saturation, contrast, sharpness and other more photo tweaks before even taking it.

You could but I'm not sure if they recognize this as a actual problem yet. You could add another more serious random problem, and the screen as another issue.
re:You could but I'm not sure if they recognize this as a actual problem yet. You could add another more serious random problem, and the screen as another issue.
This is true, I had mine for about 2 weeks, every day looking at my girlfriends good screen pissed me off. So i unrooted mine and called t mobile. Was one the phone for about 30 mins and he said it was not a common issue yet. He did day I was his second caller calling about the screen issue. I also had a spot on the screen that was flawed, it would not let ee touch the " compose message" spot when texting on anything else. Anyways they are going to overnight one with no shipping. Also I took a survey and they told me for doing so, I get one free month of service. I guess getting a "bad" screen was a good thing.

So.... Is there anything I can do about this? WARNING: BRUTAL PHOTOS

Today I learned that the MT4G can't take a 2.5 foot fall onto the floor of a bus. I didn't buy it though T-Mobile, and I have no insurance or anything. What should I do here?

It looks like the LCD might be okay, so it may just be the digitizer that's damaged. Those are fairly inexpensive to buy but I've heard they're not very fun to replace if you're inexperienced. Try seeing if there are any repair shops around that will fix it if you provide the digitizer.
what happened to it? it looks fine to me
p.s. digitizer and LCD need to be replace Digitizer is usually 60 dorra(attempt at Chinese accent)
It literally fell 2.5 feet out of my hand onto the floor of the bus while I was getting on. I'm going to try and scrap it on eBay to offset another one.
Get insurance on it with tmo over the phone, wait a few days and file a claim. Or just order the parts and watch the youtube video for it. It really isn't that hard to replace. Just take your time when you do it.

CyanogenMod 7 with the Cyanogenbread theme that is included.
That sucks man... I use a T-mobile 2 part case that's rubber with a hard plastic shell
It's taken its share of falls from my lap getting out of the car (nasty habit that I will eventually kick). The plastic is actually broken off on 2 corners. Only thing that is wrong with it is some damage to the bezel since that part is only covered by rubber. It has seriously paid off dividends though. I'm sure my phone would be mad ugly if I never got the case.
Guess its random... I just dropped my phone like three feet to concrete... no damage thank god! Anyways you can try calling customer care and complaining about the lack of durability... I know gridlock dropped his phone and it broke and he called and complained and got a new one free of charge... you should pm him and ask him what exactly he said ....

...and the tales of survival commence.
A week or so after getting the phone, mine fell 4-5 feet into concrete stairs. It hit on a corner, had a tiny mark because of it. The phone worked fine otherwise.
But...a month or two after that fall I was able to replace the phone because mine had the "bad" screen.

I think mobiletechvideos.com may be where that video is. I do believe that he offers a service to replace it ... If you end up not being able to.
I think I may be jumping ship to either the atrix or the inspire. That is if I can get the wife to let me use her upgrade. The parts to replace are $125. I can get a new phone for close to that. Of well we'll see what happens
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I see your logic but your not actually saving money doing that. Your just eating another upgrade and committing another line to att for another 2 years. Quick fix but more money long run.
I am aware I am not saving money but I get a new device, that while it may not be "better" it is newer. I know newer isn't better. And as far as committing to att for two more years they are the only carrier that I get service in my area. And my wife really doesn't care about the upgrade shes still happy with her razr and doesn't want to get anything new.

Not sure if you can separate the glass from the lcd. All the replacements I saw available come with screen+digitizer as an assembled unit already. Pretty sure you have to replace the whole thing not just glass only.
Prices really raised huh.... got mine for $60 a few months ago. Maybe supplies is getting short.
I bought just the glass itself and yes you can buy it by itself either with the at&t or without it. Now i just to need to see how to separate i was told the two are held together by adhesive

Well to be honest, I just paid $600 for this phone, so if HTC can't design a [email protected] sticker that contains the serial # to stay on the phone for more than a couple of days of very light use, then they aren't worth my time anymore and I'll just move on to another phone once it's released

I really don't think HTC designed that sticker to stay on there, considering every ad for the One X shows the phone sans sticker. Just peel it off, it looks better without it anyway. Digitizer dying, stopped working in certain spots, and hot pixel

Just got home from school and went to unlock my HTC One X and did my usual pattern, and found out that it didnt unlock. What happened was I would go down at an angel from 1 to 9 and the screen would stop recognizing my finger. I tried again, and again and again and nothing. So I loaded up sketch book and decided to just draw lines from the top of the screen to the bottom and I found out the exact spot where the digitizer is either failing or not recognizing my finger.
Heres a picture of the drawning.

It does not matter if u got your phone from, amazon , Wal-Mart or att , if u pass the 14 day buyer remorse , att covers the warranty for 1 year for new phone , 90 days for re furb , they will want you to do a master reset on it, so call att n get tech support on the line. And then they will transfer you to WSC for replacement . Hope it helps

I've got a similar problem but the dead area on my digitizer is at the bottom of the screen where the options bar normally sits. The digitizer area below the screen (back, home, switch buttons) is just fine. This is one of the worst places though, since I can't press space on the keyboard (in portrait) and I can't pull up the digit keypad when in-call.
I'm planning to upgrade to the HTC One in a couple weeks, so I really just need a temporary fix. (I don't have insurance, and my screen is already cracked in a different area so a warranty replacement is out).
To get around this, I wonder if I could change the height of the screen that's available to the OS? I'm happy to try building a ROM from source (if necessary), does anyone have any suggestions for where I would find and change those parameters?
