Is there a way to turn off the key press sounds in the stock calculator app?
Calculator sound is the system sound. If you mute the system sound, there will be no sound in calculator. Settings-->Sound->Volume-->System

Friends!
I always keem my system volume low but ring volume at 80%. But when I receive the SMS it Notificatio plays at system volume, not at ring volume. Now how can I recover SMS notification Volume at ringer volume.
Is it so that, SMS alert Volume is System based Volume, not Phone base Volume ?
Previously I was using Photo Contact Pro but I have removed that, after that this issue arise.
I have this problem too..i dont want my System Volume at 100%, but i want to hear my incoming SMS...
Any solutions? Its it possible to put SMS and Mail tones into the Ringtone category?

Any help on this would be useful; as stated, it seems that the sms alert is system volume rather than ring volume, is this correct?
Thanks.
I have to +1 this, on my touch hd same thing, it's just plain stupid that MS put the reminders, sms and stuff to system volume!!! I see no point in doiing so, nobody with a fix for that?
Anything on this?
A bit different, but: Is there a programm that forces SMS notifications to vibrate/ring more than one time?

Not a real solution but a work around is you can increase the volume of the wav file you use for SMS notification.
Its very simple, copy the wav file to your XP desktop (not sure if vista is similar) and right cligh the file and choose record. Then from Effect choose "Increase Volume" and save file and copy back to your phone and use it as you SMS notification. If you need it to sound higher, click "Increase Volume" as many time as you want.
same problem here!
so far, i merged the system and ringer together and kip all of them at 100%, but i have to remember every time I'm listening to some music and decrees the volume to put the volume up again!
there must be a way ... please help
Hey guys
is there a widget to display and control volume levels on the home screen?
Need to control mainly the media volume but having control of voice, incoming calls etc would be nice too
thanks!
Try Audio Manager Widget.
Try Quick Settings, available in Market
I don't see why there needs me to so many choices when it comes to sounds. There's
Incoming call volume
Media volume
System volume
Notification volume
Is there a way to set the sound option to actually turn off/on ALL the sounds? Or at least group the Incoming call volume, system volume, and notification volumes together? For some reason, even my notification volume goes way down if I try to turn the ringtone volume down through the rocker yet it won't go back up unless I manually do it from the settings. It's a little annoying, this is the one thing from Apple that Android would copy. Running Infused v2.2.3 by the way.
Have you tried the sound button in your notification bar?
That turns off everything with 1 button.
Kinda obvious lol
Edit: it turns off all sounds except media volume.

Thanks captain obvious but I would like it to turn off sounds from apps too. It's annoying to have to always put the mute on in games.
There's also the problem of sounds from notifications changing too. I want those to always be synonymous with my incoming call volume.
There are plenty of apps that can lock volumes togheter. Search for sound in market. Dont remember any names

I like Simple Sound because you can place a quick toggle Widget on your home screen...
If you're feeling fancy, you can use Llama and it will do location based toggling

I have that app. My biggest reason for purchasing it was the "silence timer" that would, after a set amount of time, turn your volume back up. Can't get that to work on my S III though. When I set my phone to silent, even using THEIR widget to do so, it doesn't ask when I'd like it to go back up. Yet if I launch a camera app that uses the volume rocker for zooming, the volume timer popup pops up over and over and over. So it definitely needs some work. It's a great start though.
I have Samsung Galaxy SIII too and I do not experience this kind of problem. I think this must be some other app conflicting in your phone.
When setting an alarm on ths stock alarm app, there is a scrolling sound when scrolling through time.
The sound is also there when the phone is on silent and vibrate (very odd).
How can i disable it?
Look under settings / system sound vibration control
Maybe I wasn't clear, it's not the vibration, it's actually a sound effect of scrolling the time rollerdex that is still active even if the phone is on silent mode. Any way to disable it?
