My preference is the line across the top of the status bar from the MIUI days on my DX. Selecting the line option would hide the icon.
Found an app that will accomplish the first half of this. But it will not hide the icon.
Poke around on ROM Toolbox, but all you can do is change the icons.
Don't mind editing via ninjamorph if that is what it takes.
Running Beans' rom.

Hello,
I love my new windows mobile phone but there are a lot big icons on top of the screen. I would love to edit things like the HSDPA icon, romaing icon and other things like that. Is there any software that is able to change what is shown on the top menu?
Hi,
Those icons are in your ROM and you cannot directly change them without dumping the rom and modifying the icons.
To change the start icon on the top menu bar check these threads:

EDIT: I stumbled on this threads and saw that there is a way to change shortcut icons.

I've just installed PhoneAlarm, but an ugly icon shows up in the task bar. I would like it to be a black & white icon and also have a more central position on the task bar, because on some screens it is placed over text.
Does anyone know how I can change this (I have the icon changer app installed), or maybe someone is willing to make a nice, simple B&W icon?
Best solution is disable the taskbar icon and use kisja's mod to replace the operator name on the Sense homescreen with the profile name. Well thats what I do anyway.
Thanks CrazyC! I just found out how to hide the icon (under Host Settings, hidden mode) so for now the problem is solved.
Just wondering if there is a way to hide the non-system icons in the status bar.
I see a few threads about hiding the system apps, but not for the icons on the left hand side of the status bar.
I've seen some references to doing this by using smali/baksmali to recompile a services.jar file - has any less "dangerous" method surfaced more recently to allow this?

I have installed a white theme that i really like but now the text from status bar can't be seen as it is also white. Is there any way without root to change text colour or background? Changing the theme picture top could also be an option if i could find it and paint it dark but it's downloaded from theme store. Can it be found and be modified?
Did you find a way around this?
I once had an app called super status bar installed. It doesn't affect the original status bar (because AFAIK that's not possible without root) - but it replaces it completely and you can customize it then freely.
There are probably several other status bar replacement apps on the Play Store too, there should be something fitting for you.
I'm using resurection remix nougat and I want to change the icons on the upper shortcuts
When I pull up the menu I have default, system icons and gallery for choices
The default and system icons one work, but I want to go through gallery and pick the icons I'm using from one of my icon packs.
I select the icon pack I want on the left and I pick an icon and I get this message "The chosen app did not return a valid icon or does not support image cropping. Use another app."
I've tried with three different icon packs and I always get that message.
Not sure if its a RR issue or CM/LineageOS or an Android issue so I'm asking everywhere.
Thanks
