[Q] Gameloft games hinting availability...? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Checked Order and Chaos the other day and it was compatible with the TF101 with original firmware. Other games were also available, most of the company's library, in fact. But I checked again today and now it's incompatible; returned to the old list.
Has anybody had the same experience? I also downloaded O&C and played a bit, but it crashes within the first 10 minutes of gameplay.

Has anyone been able to install Monster Madness on the Eee Pad?

A game called Monster Madness shows up on nearly every top 10 Honeycomb apps list, but for some reason, I'm unable to find this app in the Market. It was specifically designed for Tegra 2 powered devices like the Xoom, so I figured it would be available for/compatible with the Eee Pad TF too.
Has anyone successfully installed this game on their TF?

Nevermind. I just found out the reason. It was launched in March and then removed from the Market. New release date is June.

[Q] Amazon Appstore Issue

On Revolver 3.9.3 and just got update for Amazon Appstore and for the last 2 days been getting the message app not compatible with this device. Any one experiencing this? Is there a workaround? Thanks.
I have Revolver 3.9.3, too. Tested the amazon appstore today after lunch, I get no errors. Try to reinstall it.

NBA JAM

Has anyone tried this app out on the TF101.
Silly EA seems to have prevented us from downloading the app officially from the market. Yet people say it works on the prime???? Even dumber, I can downloading on my ol' school t-mobile G2.
I though about buying it on my G2, then doing a Titanium Backup over to the TF101.
Has anyone tried it, doing something simular?
I got it to work on my Transformer, no fiddling necessary.
EDIT: PM sent.
I have it working on my TF101.

How did you bring it over? Or did you use TB and bring over the backup?

You know what, it just randomly started working. I kept checking cause since I paid for it it was never playable. Then it started working one day.
So yes then I used TB to carry it over.....but it has stoped working again.....that and a few other games.......

Just restore .apk from TI backup.
If the game checks device info (Eg. Gameloft):
This method can be used for Gameloft games: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25509954#post25509954 So I'm sure one can be derived for other apps.
Another method is to modify your Device ID to something like the galaxy nexus in the Build.prop file. This does change your whole device, though.
All requires Root.

Game crashes

What games did you have problems with?
I had weird flickering in Six-Guns which I was not able to play at all and now in Siegecraft THD Lite (= demo) which just crashes after hitting play (or play / next)
Some others crashed randomly, but not so much that it would be worth mentioning with all the problems with T3 / TF700...
Update: I've found out that a reboot actually might help when experiencing problems with games (not sure why yet).
Update: After excluding some lines from build.prop and rebooting the device Siegecraft works. Will have to find out what influences the games in general.
It seems that switching off these two in my build.prop file helped with Six-Guns too!
# debug.sf.hw=1
# persist.sys.ui.hw=1
Montezuma 3 starts flickering now and then for no reason, only way to stop it is to kill the game with a task manager and restart it. No other issues found so far with games or apps. Don't have Siegecraft though.
I have issues with Grabatron on my Bionic, a game that I really enjoy. Anyone want to test that one for me? I'd love to play it on the Infinity when I pick it up.

I've had problem with most THD and 3D-games, heavy flickering and constant crashes. Its better after the latest update though, games still crash but not as often.
Seemed to be memory related as my log showed this error with every crash:
D/NvOsDebugPrintf( 5793): NvRmChannelSubmit failed (err = 196623, SyncPointValue = 1319148)
Wrote a post about it earlier: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766647

I had flickering effect in a few games, but after build.prop changes, two of which I've excluded lately. Apart from that, I think that data wipe + flashing TW firmware helped me with a lot of these issues, might be worth a try (you could use MyBackup and store it on external storage manually)
After a bit more testing the crashes are as bad as before and heavier games are as good as unplayable because of this. Anyone else having the same log error as I described above? This is really starting to piss me off...
@d14b0ll0s Might try the build.prop changes you suggested but a data wipe only seems to temporary delay the problem. Might be a memory leak somewhere or in the worst case scenario its defective RAM.

If you hadn't done any build.prop tweaks before, you don't need to exclude these lines, as they are not there.
It may be just system memory settings. Are you rooted?

Nope, im not rooted yet. I've rooted every android device I have ever owned but wanted to wait 'til we got an unlocked bootloader before I started to mess around too much.
Noone else having the same issue?

Thanks for the info...my phone won't load it whatsoever. I'm wondering the issue is...it loads the first time, but if I try it again, it will turn the screen landscape and then go back to portrait. Glad to know I can try it out on the Infinity when I get it.
Can it be the openGL driver? Sounds like the problem i have with Sygic navigation. Screen goes black on heavy 3d zooming.

I'm having trouble with the simple games, too : Words with friends & draw something. They crash instantly every time.
Are game issues another victim of the terrible i/o problem or is this something else?

I have the same problem with Words w/ Friends, even after un-installing and re-installing a couple of times. Before I can even start the game I get a 'sorry need to close' message or something like that.

I've heard similar problems from people over in the Android Central forums. Words with Friends and Draw Something don't work for some reason...
After rooting and changing scheduler to sio I no longer seem to have problem with games crashing all the time. The difference in all around performance is huge, the tablet is finally really responsive.

It seems it's just the tablet version of Words. I sideloaded my TiBu backup from my phone and it works fine (portrait mode only of course).

Games started to flicker...

Hey guys,
I guess my infinity has a serious problem. Today I was playing TW Battles suddenly screen started to flicker.I was able to touch the screen and give commands but screen didnt change. Then i tried Dead Trigger,it happened again. I shut it down and opened then played for a while (like one hour) it started to flicker again. After that I cleared all tasks from Asus Task Manager except the game, I was able to play then.Anyone has the same issue? Can it be repaired by firmware update or is it a hardware issue? Any advice to solve?
By the way my infinity is unrooted and C70 serie.

Mines been doing the same thing. Every few days I clear the cache and it temporarily fixes it.
Thanks for the reply but how can i clear the cache and by clearing it would i lose any data from apps or games?
Any other solutions? Is it a common issue?

This is a known issue. It originates from the NVIDIA driver. It is rumoured to be fixed in the upcoming JellyBean update.
For now have a look at this workaround: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31177808&postcount=8
So, the only solution is clearing the ram before starting a game?
Is there a app that keeps the free ram at the same level?

That is a really good question. If an app could just clear out all apps, like advanced task manager, and then free up all the ram, that could be used before running a game in the meantime. Does something like that exist?

There are many memory cleaners, I use this workaround: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...08&postcount=8.
Cleaners cannot "reconstruct" fragmented memory, only a reboot will do that. The real solution would be for ASUS to update the (already fixed) nvidia driver(s) to fix the NvRmChannelSubmit failed errors.
