Hi,
I need a Wifi device which should be,
pocket device, anywhere we can take,
which runs on dual power like battery and dc power,
which accepts all simcards like 2g, 3g as well as it should hav jack for brand band cable.
and imp it should deliver good perfomance, I mean wifi speed.
and most imp my android device should recognise this wifi signals (acer Iconia tablet A500, Samsung Galaxy S I9000)
Please suggest me the best wifi device with these features.
Thanks & Regards,
Ravi

I have a HTC touch pro (wm6.1) and even if I'm very close to my wifi router it has to reconnect frequently. I even set the wifi settings in the phone to better performance and still no difference.
I'm using sip softphone over wifi and wondering if anyone has or has not the same issue with maintaining steady wifi connectivity atleast for an hour, if so, which phone do you have?
I use Sony Ericson C 905 and i always use wifi internet on it and its realy good to use
I'am using HTC Wildfire and my Wifi adapter has range about 20-30m.
My phone's connection will usually outlast my laptop's, I've always been very impressed with it.
Some new models do seem to suffer from a "death grip" depending on how you hold them though, could that be an issue for you?
Relieve from mine

My evo seems to periodically have issues when switching from home wifi to 3g when leaving in the morning.
Sounds like your router. I've never had a phone drop wifi, I've had too many Wifi phones to list, but currently have iPhone 4, Droid Incredible, HTC Surround, Google Nexus One, Samsung i920, and a MyTouch 3G. Current router is a Linksys WRT610N with Broadcom chipset. I did have occasional wifi dropping with my old router under heavy wireless load. That was an Airlink AR670W with Ralink chipset.
A good router can sometimes make all the difference.
Mines not soo good (Samsung Apollo)
I have an HTC Dream and I don't have any problems with wifi although it is usually very low. Sometimes it could be a little unreliable... But in general it's not bad..
This is super off-the-wall but does anyone else use a Macbook via wifi on their home network at the same time as an Android device, and notice super crappy wifi performance of just the Macbook? I am using an AT&T uverse wifi router (via motorola.)
I have tested this with a Fascinate and an Eris, and with an old Macbook 14" and a newer Pro. When wifi on the phone is turned off the macbooks seem to work pretty good (there are still times when they crap out). When the wifi is on, the phones (and my dell laptop) can connect fine, speedtest shows full bandwidth from them, but the macbooks just run super slow, even when the laptop is very close to the router.
Well, my laptop is a macbook and I use our home wifi network for internet, I occasionally use wifi at home on my phone but I'm usually on 3g (pay $30/month for it, might as well use it). But I haven't experienced issues with network performance on the macbook while there are android devices connected to the same network or not. The problem must be somewhere else in your setup?
I don't see how one could effect the other
It could be the layout and materials of the room you are in. With radio (like WiFi) more than just signal strength matters. You can get interference or reflection of the signal that can cause problems. Newer notebooks have 3 antennas to help deal with these problems.
If the notebook is older, it likely has 1 or 2 antennas and might not deal with relection as well. Not sure what you could do to fix it though to be honest
Thanks for the info, I know that it is hard to imagine that one affects the other but I tested it a few times and each time the network speed on the macbook was bad when the phone wifi was on (even when the phone was not being used) and then got a lot better when i switched the phone wifi off. It is probably related to the Motorola wifi router more so than the phone, but I figured I would see if anyone else noticed it. The funny thing is that if i switch the phone over to hotspot mode (using wifi-tether 1.6beta) and connect the macbook to it, it runs great.
Your home network speed will drop to the speed of the slowest device on that network. There are 3 different speeds of wireless network cards in today’s electronic devices – B, G and N. B is the slowest wireless connection and can be found in things like Wii consoles. N is the fastest wireless connection and can be found in things like Ipad2′s and Macbook Air’s.
A computer network in a home is only as fast as the slowest device connected to the network. Thus if your network had 1 Wireless B device, 2 wireless G devices and a wireless N device, and your neighbor's network had 3 Wireless N devices, your neighbor's network speed would be much faster than yours.
Hi,
I am looking to buy a used Android phone with 4"+ screen and at least a dual core processor with good ROM support. I intend to use the phone only as a WiFi device at home and work. 3G/4G compatibility is good so I can put the phone on the network when required through prepaid.
Is the Motorola Triumph a good candidate for my requirements? What hardware issues (GPS, WiFi, battery etc) affect this phone?
Thanks.

I would say yes, the triumph would probly do the trick for you, but just to give you info on it
currently the custom roms that have all features of stock, hdmi camera support are all usually froyo based
one of the most popular roms currently is the CM7 g60 style final edition, which has everything working except the hdmi
im almost certain its a single core 1Ghz processor, can be overclocked to 1.5Ghz(according to other users)
its got no connection to 4g, but it is 3g, and depending on your are and coverage area you can get usually(well i personally have) almost 2mb/s or something in that effect while on 3g, wifi and network speeds will of course vary
currently issues ive seen for GPS all seem to relate to slow lock on times and such, but only some users report this issue
wifi issues tend to be normal cm7 type wifi issues, ie. phone will not deep sleep if wifi is left on, which kills battery life
and as for battery, thats usually the area most people complain about, right outta the box i was having trouble getting more then 1 full day outta each charge, but as soon as i put CM7 on i get 2 days no problem
there is also a known issue, altho not with all of them only some, of the mini usb ports becoming non functional, but that problem usually gets u a free replacement from the company
all and all id say it would probly work good for you, and since the new wave of phones is currently coming out you can probly get one for around $150
** also with wifi something ive personally noticed, on cm7 the wifi security doesnt match those of current pc systems, which means usually a open, non password protected network seems to work the best, as far as ive seen tho, cm9 has been fixing that issue, lasttime i had cm9 on my device it had the proper wifi security options

This is a solid phone. There are some bugs with it but those goes with out saying. The Wifi works very well however it's only a 3g phone and also only has a single core processor. Here is a good overview of the phone
http://developer.motorola.com/products/triumph-wx435/
While the ROM support is very solid right now, the down side is no ROM's unless you are using Froyo support HDMI. Also if you use CM9, or AOKP the camera currently does not work along with HDMI.
Thanks for the replies but for a little more money than what a Triumph is going for in the used market, I found LG Nitro HD. Much better specs
Hello!
I`ve got FAEA F1 on hands, this is second model that I have - first F1 was broken when he fall to floor from 15m. I`ve ordered new FAEA F1 because it`s nice phone for that price and ALL worked good...First F1 worked perfect for 6 months.
faeamobile.com/faea-f1-features
This phone have Qualcomm 8225Q as CPU, so all must be fine, but...
Problem is that I have 2 SIM-cards,and internet working ONLY on 2G (EDGE) or "GSM only" in settings.
On #1 sim-card when I turn on 3G, signal is out. Just no signal at all. Switching to "GSM only" - all ok, signal is good, internet works on EDGE.
#2 sim-card just don`t have internet connection on working 3G. Signal is good, but just no any connections. On 2G (GMS only) all working good and internet works on EDGE. This two sim-cards are from different network operators.
This cards works perfectly in another phones, and worked good in first F1.
I`ve bought card from #3 network with 4G frequences and it`s like #2 - no intenter connection on 3G signal and only EDGE.
I flashed all firmwares for this phone, original and not, but nothing helps...
What can I do more? I think it`s problem in modem settings, but how I can change it?
Some users of F1 have the same problems.
So, what I can do more?
Thanks
Hello all,
I am staying somewhere with a relatively weak wifi signal. Some of my devices get more bars than others.
Can any recommend the best budget device that has the overall best wifi reception? Ie the device can pick up on a weak signal better?
I want to use this device to bluetooth as a wifi hotspot to a laptop or other type of device.
Thanks.
