GPS problem after updating to JB - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had CleanROM 1.2 and i decided to flash JB (the file from Asus Support Site). Everything seemed ok but the GPS is not working. On Gps Test after few minutes there are only 4 satelites in view and 0 in use. I left the tablet awake for half an hour and nothing changed. I flashed the US version but I bought my tablet in Italy. Maybe could be this the problem?

This is probably the problem. Though I haven't actually found the gps.conf file on the tf300, it is probably there somewhere or has something equivalent.
This file controls which servers your device looks for, and is usually region dependent.
You can read more about the gps.conf file here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239713

Yes I try to find the gps.conf file too. I just imported from differents TF300 Roms but still no success. Now i'm trying with the guide that you have posted
EDIT:
I tried the method that u have posted but it still doesn't work !

My intention wasn't to post a solution for you, just try to give some more backgrund as to what could be the problem. Sorry if I gave you the impression I had the fix.

Wiped everything (system partition also) and flashed the WW JB version. Still having a not working GPS. What could I do?

[Q] XOOM Au Flashed now no 3G (HSDPA)

Hi Guys!
I am pretty sure no one else has posted this (I have searched for days)
I just got my XOOM in Australia, (it only came out a couple of days ago) and being the idiot i am, i tried rooting, not thinking that the images for the US models wouldnt work (our model is MZ601, not MZ600), which they didnt. I tried for hours to unbrick it, finally i got it working using the clockwork recovery method with HC 3.1.
works perfectly rooted and all, bar one thing, 3G!
another thing i failed to factor in is that australia uses HSDPA which isnt supported with the us firmware... so if i try to activate, i get "Searching for signal" endlessly.
I'm thinking i'll probably have to wait till EU or AU sbf or images are made available, but if you guys can think of anything to help me out, that would be amazing! thanks so much!

Yes, they have, there's been lots of threads about people doing this to the UK Xooms (also MZ601s) and losing 3G.
Either flash a set of DE ripped images and a language pack, found in a thread here somewhere, or see if one of the hacked-together 3.1 installs will work.

Refer to my post earlier, where I mention "Either flash a set of DE ripped images and a language pack..." and then do that, maybe?
Okay, now i have the german images and a eng lang pack installed, but 3g still isnt working, i can pick up the networks, but i cant connect, i think i had a sim pin on my sim and didnt disable it before, could this be why? if so, how can i disable it?
thanks
(sorry for double post)
Edit: Would putting the sim in an australian phone and disabling the pin then putting it back in my xoom work?
you're a lifesaver btw! thanks so much for helping me out
okay scratch the pin thing, it still doesnt work, i can see the aussie networks (i'm on telstra), when i try to join it, it says cannot connect, and if i set auto, it doesnt try.
Fixed!
guys here helped me to fix it up!

[Q] Rooting SGS2 GT-i9210

I just got a brand new SGS2 GT-i9210 from sweden. After unsimlocking it, it perfectly works on our experimental 4G (2.6Ghz) network in France.
I tried to root it, but the zergrush doomlord rootkit v4 does not work properly, it ends with the "Hellions with BLUE flames" error.
I used this rootkit with different SGS2 4G/LTE smartphone and never had problem, it always worked.
I was just wondering if someone could help me to root this GT-i9210...
Thanks in advance for your replies
I'd love to get into this as soon as I've got rid of the Tele2 simlock on my i9210. Any tips on reliable unlock code providers for this phone?
As this post comes up high on the google results for rooting the GT-i9210, here's the link to the ACTUAL page on how to root it.
Edit: Probably better to link to the OCAU thread http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?p=14233218#post14233218

I don't dare to belive you.
The root method you refer to in your link is for models sold on the US market, in Europe this model is branded GT-I9210 (EU) and is similar, but not identical to the models in US or Canada.
I have followed a Swedish thread where people has used this method, but many of them has bricked their phones....
The whole process works fine through all steps until rebooting.
The back key and the menu key stops working.
I wish somebody could fix a reliable root method for GT-I9210.
I'm the guy who wrote that post on Whirlpool. I have a pair of GT-I9210Ts, both of which are now rooted using CWM and superuser.zip.
Note that this doesn't actually CHANGE anything on the phone. So it's not going to brick it. All it does is install CWM, and then uses CWM to install superuser.zip. I can't possibly see how it's possible to brick the phone doing this.

Yep, I did this today. The phone's back and menu buttons aren't working. I tried installing softkeys from the Market but still no go. Is there a solution to this problem?
That's.. very very strange. Someone else reported it, but I have no idea why this happened. You're not touching ANYTHING to do with the buttons. All you're doing is updating the recovery.img and then installing a package. I've rooted three phones now, and haven't had that problem.
Can you read http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?p=14233218#post14233218 and tell me if you did anything different?

The method you have posted is one I have already tried, 2hrs after getting my phone from Telstra. Back button and Menu buttons blank out and no longer work.
No one should use this method until it is specifically tried and tested for the phone.
EDIT: Just to assist you a bit further with the method.
- A full factory reset was completed, not working.
- Telstra firmware downloaded, installed, factory reset, not working.
- Dialled *#*#2663#*#* - Selected Touch Key F/W to upgrade, not working.
----- Phone F/W was marked as 0x4, Part F/W was 0x0.
I believe this was the issue, the fact that there was a number mismatch.
Those with the GT-I9210 visit this link for Original EU Rom.

As I mentioned on OCAU, I didn't have much of a problem.
"xrobau" Did you have any moment when the buttons did not work?
Hi,
Any updates on this phone rooting procedure?
This generic firmware will work in Portuguese operators? Any European tested it?
Thanks

In my case the keys stopped working after flashing first time a kernel with cwm recovery. The phone also didn't boot anymore. The kernel itself was backuped with the very same cwm.
Before I flashed the kernels with odin and also with "dd" command. No problems with the keys.
Based on these things I got the feeling that there could be something wrong with cwm.
I could not fix it so far.
I'm not sure whether my post would be valid any longer on a thread more than a year old.
Anyway, if someone needs a pre-rooted version of the latest stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXUAMF1 COV (GT-I9210), they can do so from this thread, post #4:

Flashed it via Odin & using it without any issues on my S II LTE GT-I9210T.

[Q] Indipad 10" Unblock or ROM

Hi, just recently some student tablets started to drop in my shop with problems, the latest one was an Indipad 10" made by LGS Caribbean, that is ALL the info I know about it since there are no labels anywhere in the tablet or the box, my guess is a generic Chinese re-branded tablet and it looks like is running ICS 4.0.1 but can't be sure since is locked with a number password. The client brought the tablet in cause her child was playing with it and activated the password screen lock and of course the child doesn't remember what he typed in. :silly:
I'm either looking to unlock the tablet, factory reset it or re-flash stock rom.
I already tried using the volume +/-/power combo for the recovery but it takes me to the android boot error screen, so I guess it has no recovery installed or it was deleted on purpose by the company. Also tried entering a lot of failed passcodes to see if it brings the account recovery option, but is a no go.
Did a Google search to see if I could also find a rom to flash on it but since I'm limited on the info about it nothing has come up.
Many thanks for any help.
No one?
Same thing right here. But i can tell you it is running android 4.0.4, and the build number is: crane_m1003h6-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D 20120921. Of course as you may know the 20120921 is the date so my guess is that it depends on how many updates those tablets have received already. Anyway, the recovery works, cus i have one in here working and you can access recovery from inside android(when you go to factory reset it gives you an option to do so, i did and it works perfect). But again just like you said, It wont work using hardware buttons. I was trying to find someone who can contact me from LGS Carribean but no luck at all. Just nothing, i have a working INDIPAD at this moment and thats how im telling you whats the firmware version and build. Like you said on your post, its an issue dealing with generic tablets it really is. I have not found even a similar enough firmware for the tablet to flash, but i can confirn you can use LiveSuitPack to flash them. Only issue is that i havent found a firmware to do so lol.... And ive look just about everywhere. Im going to run USB deview to check what the real hardware is and brand, if im able to find something ill let you know M8
Many thanks, client called in today and told her I'm still looking for a solution. Will wait for what you find.
Did you get this resolved?
Not yet, @home atm, so I'll check tomorrow for an update.
Seems we still on the black
Yes we are, so far i can tell you the processor is an A10, so its an A10 device. It shows as T10a for manufacturer, but so far thats all i can tell you. There might be a way to pull the firmware image from a working Indipad so that we have something to flash on the password protected ones. But for now, we are all waiting on something
Have same issue

My mother-in-law is an English teacher and has several students with the same issue with a password they forgot or they locked the tablet on accident. I haven't been able to factory reset, but when you mentioned T10a, a quick Google search led me to show that EKEN makes T10a tablets.
I hope I'm not leading you down a rabbit trail, but here is their support site with manuals and firmware downloads
Also, searching on XDA apparently there is a way to get CWM on the EKEN T10a and instructions to flash to their latest ROM.
I haven't had a lot of experience with flashing ROMs, but I have flashed my personal devices before. So please let me know if this is possible in any way. I wouldn't want to mess something up. Well, I hope this helps.

Sweet, I'll do a hardware comparison tomorrow with EKEN T10a and see if they are identical devices (at least from the outside), if they match I'll just try that. The device is a brick atm so it doesn't matter trying to experiment with it.

The one for T10A, version "T10 G-SENSOR6225".
I also had a bit of a problem at first trying to boot it into flash mode, but what I did was go to the device manager in Windows and saw that there where 2 copies of the special driver that the "LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20111101.exe" installs, one with the checkmark like they said, the other I assumed was the tablet connected, so I deleted the one with checkmark and tried again, this time it went through and started the flashing process which took less than 2 minutes.
Straight after attaching the cable, and whilst still holding down the volume+ button, start pressing the tablet power button repeatedly. This (slightly frenzied) procedure puts the tablet into update mode.

That was the tricky part, to make it boot into flash mode, it has to be fast between connecting and starting to press the buttons, I took like a 1 second delay between the two things.
Also, got to point out I didn't do the CWM or the root mod, just did the firmware flash cause that's what the client wanted.
Its allright buddy, and thanks. Thing is that i was trying to update it as it said on the Ekken website. But the tablet didnt accept the SdCard update at all. I told you it should be done using LiveSuit and yet i was afraid of bricking the device using LiveSuit ha ha.... Thanks a lot guys, case solved. It took all of us to do so but hey, we made it!!!!

Their server is kinda slow but I use Free Download Manager to download big files and speed up the download.
Also remember this was an experiment and it worked by chance, so no guarantee that it will for every indiPad out there, specially if the manufacturer changes the hardware, you should check the hardware info on the tablet just to make sure we are talking about the same tablet model or you could brick your device.
thanks bro, i know about rom experimental, i think same tablet from Puerto Rico, indiPAD, same eken t10a.

OTA Update to 4.1.1 not showing and SOP doesn't seem to work either

Hello everyone,
I just recently bought a TF300TL on the AT&T network and I wanted to upgrade to the newest firmware. However, the OTA update doesn't recognize an available update, and when I extract the firmware to a SDcard (as suggested here... http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF201/e7203_TF201_Update_SOP.pdf), it doesn't give me the exclamation icon.
As a follow up are there any roms that support the LTE radio in the TL?
Anyone able to help?

Did you download this file?
You have to unzip only once and place the zip in the internal SD and wait for 2-5 mins. Then the update notification will pop up. (never done this before, just from reading in forums, others feel free to correct me).
As far as i remember there are no ROMS for TL. untermensch's kernel along with CM10 was reported working, but the development is halted. Please check out this thread before deciding.

[Q] Flashed to cm-10.1.0-d2vzw.zip, Now The Camera Doesn't Work.

Ok, I'm a total noob at this so I'll try to provide whatever pertinent info I can.
Today I got it in me to root my Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon). After I did this I decided to flash cm-10.1.0-RC5-d2vzw.zip (Yes I wiped everything before I did it [after making a backup of course]) and gapps 4.2.2 http://goo.im/gapps in TWRP.
Everything went smooth and I had everything looking the way I liked until I tried to open the camera app, and then it said "Cannot connect to camera." So I tried flashing the stable build that was just released: cm-10.1.0-d2vzw.zip. Still didn't work.
I tried looking near and far, everywhere, on why my camera wouldn't work. I tried loading SlimISP_ZH.bin into the data folder based on one thread that was talking about camera problems http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36933667 I read somewhere about checking camera firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37328191 but it didn't pertain to my device, and the code didn't do anything. Nothing helped.
Now I have no idea what to do. I reloaded my original stock ROM and now the camera works again, but I REALLY don't want to keep it cause it's just... slow.. especially after I experienced Cyanogenmod. I couldn't find any other info on this problem so I am asking you, the people who actually know what they're doing, to help me out if possible. If there is already a thread on this exact problem, I am sorry, but I really searched hard and couldn't find anything related to this specific problem.
My current (stock and rooted) specs are as follows:
Model # - SCH-I535
Android Version - 4.1.2
Baseband version - I535VRBMF1
Kernal Version - [email protected] #1_SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun 8 17:20:08 KST_2013
Build number - JZO5K.I535VRBMF1
Hardware version - I535.10
Nobody seems to have a definite answer for this issue and I don't understand why. This is affecting a lot of people running AOSP with no reason as to why, specifically. I've tried many, MANY things, nothing is helping. I'm rerooting after I get a confirm in my post and will let you know how it goes from there.

Well. Good and bad news. Good news is it's fixed. Bad news is there is no way that I can find of updating the firmware/modem while running an AOSP ROM. The first try worked great, wanted to see if I could update the firmware, no go. Restarted from the beginning again to see if taking the OTA updates while not rooted would allow me to have it work when rooted. Updates went through, everything went fine. Camera didn't work on AOSP still. So at least it works... I can deal without the firmware I guess, definitely worth a working camera and fully stable CM10.1.
Had some issues with the root, however a few tries at it and it eventually worked. This requires no input on your screen (first try SU popped up on me and I granted access, it rebooted and didn't root correctly) Edit: This time around I granted it and it worked. Heck if I know what/why. Just just keep doing it until it works, worked for me. Don't press anything the first try, then do so the second, etc.. Start it as soon as your device is connected to your computer and let it do it's thing. Don't let it have the chance to switch from its "installer" mode on the phone to a media device (unsure if that was the problem, but that seemed to be the reason why after the second round, 4th attempt).
Also, I had to battery pull and wipe data on the stock recovery listed as optional on the first link after it was rooted (WAIT UNTIL ODIN SAYS PASS before pulling the battery out when it's at the boot logo).
The only other thing I would say is that my phone initially came with the VRBLK3, and that may be the reason why this worked for me. Don't know. If your phone shipped with a different version, and my process doesn't work for you, try finding an MD5 with your shipped firmware version that will odin you to that version, and then continue with the root.

Thank you so much! Works like a charm. :victory: I don't know why I couldn't find it anywhere if its been posted many times. Maybe this or something similar should be a sticky post so that people who have gotten the latest firmware updates will know why they can't get it to work. You know, for noobs like me who barely know what they're doing. Regardless, you are awesome, and I appreciate it.
Thanks to you too, CZory91, for the input. Apparently all of that (on my phone at least) wasn't necessary. I do appreciate the reply though. I hope you got yours to work the way you want it.

It's in the first post on both CM10.1 threads (Q&A and Developer forums).
