I love my desire s but unfortunately its hardware is now outdated but it seems HTC is releasing its successor "desire x" with respectable hardware I'd love to buy it if it comes with respective price what do you guys think?

the one thing I hate about one s is only 16gb memory and no memory card slot and for me 16 gb isn't enough
so that's why I think desire x is very good package it is not like have awesome hardware but very good hardware and also use the one series camera n chipset so it is a good package

Oh, I wasn't comparing the One S with the Desire X, just that when the One S came out it felt like a successor, unibody, good hardware.. mid/high price range.
I agree however with what you said, the lack of expansion might bother some, I personally don't make use of my SD card that much on my desire S but I can easily imagine some people doing so.
Do keep in mind the screen is only WVGA which is quite poor for today's standards.

One S is way too big, this Desire X is really sexy I think it will be my next phone, but I am afraid about the Adreno 203 GPU (our Desire S has 205)...
Anyway, I'll wait for it to be unlocked and 1st MIUI port done, I need MIUI as my OS.
True. But keep in mind that the Desire S and Desire X has the same screen resolution. Based on my research. It will have Full Sense 4. It should be much easier to port than resizing.

Actually I saw some advised post on gsmarena about Desire X that changed my mind, especially the HSDPA thing :
Frndz i wana share something.
This phone has =>
* no scratch resistant glass protection
* no hd video recording
* no front camera
* only cortex A5 cpu no cortex A9 cpu (some games need cortex a9)
* no adreno 205 gpu only adreno 203 gpu
* no dual sim
* not hot swepable micro sd card
* no sutter key for camera
* only 233 ppi density (so not much crispy in browsing)
* poor screen viewing angle
* no adobe flash
* no beats Audio head phone in the box (have to buy separatly and it will cost around $10 or 550INR)
* only hsdpa 7.2 mbps not 14.4 mbps
* no on-the-go support (otg) functionality
* no Dvix-Xvid support out of the box
* only 5 mp camera
* no document editor out of the box (have to pay for install separatly )
* no dedicated mic for active noice cancellation
* no HDMI port for tv oupput
* only 4gb internal memory in which only 1gb is for user avilable
* no [email protected] video playback (not confirmed)
* no NFC
Very-Sorry for any mistake if i did .
So guys think before buy.
I will suggest xperia u and samsung galaxy ace 2 in this price tag.

MSM8960, dual-core Krait, this is the same chip as GS III, ONE X, LUMIA 920, XPERIA GX/SX and other high end phones.
Good thing is it should make the ROM ports easier xD
This is definitly going to be my next phone.
I am not really sure about the Desire X perfs, dual core should give it better perfs in system and 2D stuff like using the browser or navigating in menus, but in 3D apps (games) it should have similar perfs as the Desire S.

So I wanted to upgrade to a new phone like the amaze but it makes sense to wait two more or 3 months for the quad core processor phones right guys? Let's hear some feeback and what are you gonna do? Wait it out too??

Yea, I agree. I get bored easily, this is the first phone I've kept for this long (about a year). At first, I was looking at a gradual upgrade, something like a sensation or a g2x... Then I figured if I'm gonna spend $$, might as well just do it for the long haul & look into an amaze, galaxy s2 or even wait for a galaxy nexus... After all is said & done, I'm still using my glacier & will continue to do so. We've got an awesome dev section & something better will always be just ahead of the curve, but I'm definitely waiting for 2012...

The Ville is the 4.3" ICS phone right? That sounds so much nicer size-wise than the massive Galaxy Nexus. Should come out more compact than the Amaze or Sensation due to the removal of buttons.
However the render appears to have a screen aspect ratio of 1.64 or so, which is closer to the 5x3 of an 800x480 display than the 16x9 (1.777) of a qHD display. So the render is misshapen.

Yes the ville is the 4.3" screen one. Same screen as the RAZR i believe. Its gonna be nice because the 28nm processor allows for it to be really thin. So it shouldn't be much heavier than the MT4G.

it will come with 1.5GH snapdragon s4 processor and here's the full specification of it. A 4.3-inch qHD (960×540) Super AMOLED display; a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor; 8MP camera on the back with 1080p HD video capture; a 1,650mAh battery; HSPA+-connectivity; and Beats Audio Technology. The handset will apparently measure in at only 8mm thick,will launch with Android 4.0, and will also launch HTC’s Sense 4.0 overlay.

If you are waiting for the greatest smartphone you will be waiting forever, there is always going to be a rumor about a supposed OMG smartphone RIGHT before you was about to purchase the smartphone you thought was awesome. In my opinion, to have a really satisfying smartphone experience there needs to be great utilization of software and hardware. Software is something that has always been a bit of a hindered on devices with custom skins (most of the Android ecosystem). The only ways to really circumvent this is to either buy a Nexus devices or root your device in HOPES of finding a solid ROM to flash. I think this makes the decision quite easy, buy the Galaxy Nexus.
The HTC Desire C (Golf) was just announced by HTC and T-Mobile in the United Kingdom, and we’ve just been handed this screenshot of another new HTC device, the Ville C. Our source tells us this is basically a cheaper version of the HTC One S. The Ville C is purportedly an “ultra slim” device, though we aren’t sure of its exact measurements. It ships with Android 4.0, and possibly with Sense 4.5 (as seen in the document above). We were expecting Sense 4.0, but it seems that Sense 4.5 is already in the works.
HTC’s Ville C specifications sheet says the device will sport a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED display, 16GB of internal memory, and 1GB of RAM. The device will also be equipped with the Qualcomm dual-core MSM8260 S3 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It’s listed at 1.7GHz, but our source informs us this is a typo. Along with a plethora of other mid-range specs, the device will have the same 8-megapixel camera sensor found on the One S. Of course this means it will have 1080p video recording ability. Up front, the Ville C also houses a VGA front-facing camera. On top of all that, the device will have a 1,650 mAh battery. We aren’t sure if it’s removable, but we have a feeling it won’t be.

Looks like Sense 4.5 is on its way.
What am I missing?

How can only a slower CPU make this a budget version of the regular 1s? Maybe this could be a branded version for some carriers

And, the source for this article says the "1.7ghz MSM8260" is a typo, and it is supposed to read 1.2ghz.

In same time, Sense 3.5 wasn't a version running on the top line of phones at first but on the then last gen single core HTC Rhyme. Today the S3 found in the Sensation and Co can be considered as last gen as well.
One of the major features of the HTC One X is it's snapdragon S4 processor with possible the best mobile GPU today. Well with that hardware there is only one question What are the best games that are accelerated by the snapdragon S4 ?

Ya, I do know the difference in fact quad-core actually takes less battery and beats audio is also included in the tegra3.
And with the update the battery life has been extent to a decent amount.

HTC M7 Sense 5 468ppi 1.7Ghz Quad core
HTC M7 rumored to replace One X in February with 4.7-inch, 468ppi screen and Sense 5
the M7 is said to improve upon HTC's current flagship Android phone, the One X, nearly across the board: with a 4.7-inch HD display at 468ppi (reportedly called a SoLux display), a 1.7GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and LTE and HSDPA radios. The M7 will also reportedly carry an improved camera with a 13-megapixel sensor and an f/2.0 lens.
M7 should be headed to Verizon and Sprint, and that there's a possibility it could be the first smartphone since the HTC Touch Pro 2 to be offered on the four largest US carriers.

Is it out yet? x( Can't wait to lap one up, along with a Class10 64Gb card.....MONSTER KILL!!/GODLIKE!
Its good to see that HTC put a micro sd slot in this device. Im some sort of sick of flagship phones that dont have it but just offer you 16gb of internal storage. Specs wise it also looks incredible but unfortunately I dont like the look and feel of their sense ui at all. Im more of a stock or touchwiz guy

i think butterfly S would be awesome..
the cons is they still use the 4ultrapixel camera, it's no good on detail.
Looks like a good speced phone over all and if the butterfly was anything to go by this phone will be awesome.

i had the chance to attend the launch in hong kong and was given one to play with briefly.
let's just say i was so impressed i've already decided to buy one to replace my One with lol
antutu and sunspider shows the difference too.

anyway if anyone wants to read more and see some pics, it's all in my tips and tricks blog and the url is in my sig.
