Hi,
Why "Settings app" lags alot on stock rom ?
I've tried force GPU rendering enabled, but still lags
I had all kinds of lag when I first got my tab, so much so that I planned to return it. However, once I upgraded to ICS, EVERYTHING improved. I've flashed a couple of ROMs since, and it's been nothing but smooth sailing.

Expect all lag in the world with stock rom try to flash cm10 or aokp you will get rid off all lag sooooo smooth

It lags a lot on my Galaxy Tab 2 P3113 when in portrait mode. It is smooth as butter in landscape mode, which is weird. Same thing with the launcher, really smooth in landscape with the Phase Beam live wallpaper, but really laggy in portrait.

My phone is working very fast and stable. Everything is ok. Menu transitions, game loading screens, homescreen transitions... But only my appdrawer laggy when opening and closing animations.
I am using go launcher with cm7.2+. I tried other roms and launcher but appdrawer every time laggy.
I am waiting your suggestions

Are your clocks okay?
Are you running some special governor?
It might be something you made.
Or this phone has endless problems.
It has cm7.2+ kernel and rom users like this kernel. And if flashed original v21e it was ok but after 3-4 days problem has occured

I used LauncherPro in the rom since I found Go Launcher laggy (and a huge resource hog). Glad you found that out too
@pandaball i installed your rom. Rom is very fast. But ONLY appdrawer opening closing animations very laggy on go launcher, launcher pro (standart rom launcher) and adw launcher

Mine is smooth, even with a ton of apps installed. Methinks you have more apps than me try wiping cache and dalvik cache, that helps sometimes by clearing up redundant entries
I did wipes. Everything is ok now. But i'm sure restart this problem after few days. Thanks for support pandaball

Wrong topic! --> Q&A
You are using stock ics now right?
I recommended the CM Roms because stable and fast.
The CM9 (ICS) works well in the tablet.
The CM10 (JB) really near the perfect. I prefer this, I no have problem with this ROMS, (just some little problem with the autobrightness and some problem with navigation buttons, i hope it will solve soon)
I not tired yet AOKP, i think works well also.
As posted above, questions should be posted in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

I tried the cm10 but the home page is not on portrait mode or cant be rotated?. And there is no playstore, otherwise I would like it. Is it the same with cm9?
Sent from my GT-P3113 using xda app-developers app
I prefer the stock ROM coz it has mini apps & bunch other functionality.
CM9 is good, designed for tablet, but no better (in terms of functionality) than Stock Rom
CM10 is not ready yet, the nightly is just plain ugly.

Yes i prefer cm10 for tablet rotation try setting/display/rotation and tick all options
You could try also a launcher as nova, apex, holo or go launcher hd and check setting of the launcher to enable rotation
Also read reports about aokp working goooood in this tab 3113
I prefer custom roms as no bloatware and nearly zero bugs in this tab and speed increase , i use now cm10 and go launcher hd and so happy
Regarding store not found, i think you forget to flash google apps, if in cm10 try gapp jb, if in cm9 try gapps ics from www.teamhacksung.org
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
Anyone tried d tab2lite rc2 rom? If so how was it?

Re :
I'm a happy user of CM10 !
At the first glance, I was skeptical about losing stock recovery to CWM since I have always been depending on sammobile releases stock ROM to update my device be it from my own country or others. (with this being said, I already did some research on how to get back to stock ROM )
But, I must say CM10 is the best ROM I have ever used so far :good:

But sir.. as i have read from the CM 10 thread.. there a problems that comes with it.. i wont specify it all but can you enumerate some problems that you encountered so far.. thanks!
Sent from my GT-P6200 using XDA Premium HD app
I have used both CM10 and Paranoid Android 2.50 but both we're not as fast as Stock ICS ROM.
CM10 made a lot of things laggy including applications and games that were pretty much seamless on stock.
Paranoid was faster than CM10 in terms of navigation and usage as a normal phone/tab, but when it comes to intensive use, both CM10 and PA2.50 suffers.
So I suggest you use the Stock ICS ROM with some tweaks. PIMP MY ROM for example is a good choice. Seeder is a nice addition and Greenify will take you all the way to the top.

Well, apart from the smoothness is slightly slower than the stock ICS when playing games as per what's the above reply, i havn't encounter any major problems.
A few things that i can highlight so far are :
1. Wifi is more stable than stock ICS. I can stay connected from 6pm all the way to 8am the next morning. Back then using ICS, sometimes the wifi will just lost and I have to reconnect to the router in my house.
2. Despite the stable wifi, the battery consumption using wifi is worst than using stock ICS.
3. Data connection is a little unstable when it comes to changing HSDPA mode to EDGE mode. Sometimes have to restart the device.
Anyhow, apart from the above issues I am happy with this ROM currently. I'm just bored using stock ICS anyway. Haha.

I'm still waiting for the release of JB for my GT-P6211.
Am a bit hesitant to install JB for GT-P6210.
Is is really worth the risk to install JB, is it really a significant improvement compared to ICS ??
THANKS,
V.
Well, at least you have a hope for upgrade. My t869 will not get one( thank you tmob). None the CM roms are fully functional - so far.
I guess there is no problem. I did upgrade my Gt-p6201 with the gt-p6200 rom and no major issue so far.

in my opinion jb is much better, u can fell this smooth, on ics i had problem with flash player, videos was trimmed, jb ofc solved this problem. For sure worth to flash android 4.1.2
Only problem is flash is no longer developed or supported by Adobe.
Can't even download it on my phone anymore.
Hey there, I have an i9020a and after trying tons of 4.3 and 4.2 roms I found they all lacked something or other that old 4.1.2 roms had, but now that I'm out looking for them I find they were mostly lost in time. I'm currently using Slim Bean 3.1 but I mostly use the phone for IM'ing, and for some reason it keeps on killing apps after a while when the screen is off, and I'm not alerted of messages until I open the apps again. It also has a huge battery consumption, although in every other aspect I found it a brilliant rom, smooth and blazing fast with great game performance.
So now I'm looking for other 4.1.2 roms and I've read praise towards Helly Bean but that version is no longer on hellybean.com and I can't find any mirrors. Does anybody still have it? And while on the subject, can anyone else recommend other stable roms with BLN support and notification drawer widgets that is speedy and smooth (preferably with a link if possible)?
Cheers!
Use this ROM ..currently I am using and very fast and stable with Marmite kernel. You should give a time ..it is my daily driver.

or
CM10 Stable with Devil kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43673112&postcount=338
I would also go with cm10 and the kernel of your choice. The stock cm kernel is not half bad but you will have better performance with devil kernel,*at the expense of battery life.

Sorry folks, recommending best rom threads get closed, why? because history shows that almost all of them become arguments over what rom is "better" and essentially, that is something that can only be determined by individual users.
Members are expected to read the thread in development to determine what is "best" for them.
