The post says "Our DHD is NOT 100% compatible with the Euro DHD. A rom using their kernel will yield no sound. The downgrade rom is one of those, so you must either flash a compatible rom after this procedure is done, or you must flash a compatible kernel (linked below) to get sound back."
I found this quote above, it seems the the downgrading rooting process kills audio due to uncompatible kernel install. In order to get audio back you need to flash a compatible rom or kernel (DHD or Inspire 4G)
I'm sorry I actually already solved the problem. Thanks for your help though.

Hi, guy. I'm new to android, inspire 4g is my first smartphone. I spent a tone of time learn how to root, radio s-off, sim-unlock my device. I used the "hackerize-ace" package V9. I'm currently using 【rom】 Android Revolution 4G 3.2, 【bootloader】 ace-hacker SHIP-S-Off(something like this), 【clockworkmod recovery】 3.0.0.6 (something like this) 【software version】2.2.1 . I'm having a hard time trying to install a new theme for my phone, can anyone help me out? provide me with more detailed steps? Thank you very much. If you need more information in order to help, please let me know.

What kind of trouble are you having? What is happening when you try to flash the theme? I am assuming you have flashed the rom then a full reboot then flash the theme.
ummm, I flash the rom, then reboot device, then use rom manage to install(in recovery). But, the theme did not appear the same as post. And some places, like the phonebook/contacts list looked mess up.
For your contact list, sounds like a font provlem. Your best bet would be to ask the theme dev.

Make sure you are installing the 1.84 version of whatever theme you choose. That may be your problem.

I am board at work at I want to try out a new radio. I get a lot of hit and miss signal here at work. I don't have a pc either. I have radio and eng s-off. If this is possible I would appreciate the help. If not let me know. Thanks.
Running ultimate Droid with lord kernel. Thanks.

That can brick your device
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
There isn't a best way to do this, nor is there a good way. The simple answer is wait till you have a computer. With out checking the md5 for the radio, there is no way to know if it is corrupt. Hence you could make your 400 dollar phone a door stop, or brick...
Edit: also there is no reason to have eng s-off.

I was wondering the same thing, guess I will just wait to have a computer arround...
That's beeing said, and FIY mudknot2005, some applications are able to checksum (md5/SHA1) a file on Android
So if it's the only issue, I guess it's not that much of an issue after all !
(I may have made some english mistake, I apologize for that)
I love this Rom soooo much but their is a strange sound when talking to someone on the phone. It sounds terrible. What's wrong with it?

Yeah, install the audio fix (its in the MOD section in the questions thread for the ROM)...
Or try flashing the recommended radio?
The stock radio flash might solve the problem, but the audion on that ROM is tinny when playing media, as well as speaker phone. I'm trying the fix now will update shortly.
update the fix works beautifully, and takes about 2 seconds to install. No need for stock radio unless desired.
I had the same thing and installed the audio fix. No need for a different radio.
It is saying that it is possible to lose sound. If I have s_off sorry to be dumb but first root wanna get it right if it's a one click method how do u get the sound back flash another Rom?which never did working towards that thanks.

One click method? Do not use any one click methods. They can potentially screw your phone.
Google attn1's ace hack kit. That is the one true way to root your device. Read and follow all of the instructions.

Rooted for the first time last week and did NOT lose sound with s-off. I read a few forums where upon using aahk (advanced ace hack kit) they lost sound. I dont know if it has to do with the gingerbread or froyo rom at the time of rooting but a fix was to update the phones firmware and it would come back. Not sure as this has never happened to me. Rooted while on the stock gingerbread and it worked like a charm

I am new to all this and am trying to understand the kernel, I installed jellybam 3.2.0 and now 3.3.0, when I did that would I have automatically installed a new kernel, or is that not replaced?
From what I have read the kernel allows the jellybam ROM to talk to the hardware, so that said is it possible that the kernel I am using could be what is causing my Bluetooth to keep connecting and disconnecting BUT also my proximity sensor not to work? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask
I have done a quick search but couldn't find anything to confirm my suspicion.
My kernel at the moment is 3.0.053-g099c572

Yes every ROM usually includes a kernel, which is supposed to work well with the ROM. Maybe it's the kernel causing bluetooth problems, but it may also be the ROM itself which is buggy, or you firmware which is outdated. You'd better ask in the ROMs thread for more info. There are a lot of things which could cause problems and it's difficult to find out the cause sometimes. If they can help you in JellyBam's thread you could try another ROM and see if problem persists
