No sim card - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Edit: NEW QUESTION
I DIDN'T MAKE A NEW POST THIS IS JUST AN OLD POST
9/19:
i was using my p500 during the day. works. i switch it off for a few hours. then i switch it back on. it says cannot detect sim card. I tried many different roms same thing. I verified that i do have v20g baseband installed and I have reinstalled baseband too.
I swear it was working several hours ago... I tried everything i could think of(except kdz... don't want to go there)
this happened while i was on paranoid android. it was working just fine until today. I flashed cm7, miuigb, miuiv4, jb, cm9 all same result

Format and make a new ext3 and then try restoring.. maybe then it might work!!

Found another backup from before I was using s2e
Restored as much as I could
installed amonra
Hope it doesn't come again

I think it's a hardware problem because if you were on old bb it would recognize the sim card but wouldn't receive any signal

Check if other sim are working on phone. It might be possible that your sim is old and not working anymore. Just get a new sim.
Also dont forget to check the sim terminals on phone.

Do you still have your IMEI? Is your phone number wrong?
If you don't have your IMEI, you'll need to fix it. You'll find some links in Android Development or Original Android Dev here.
If your phone number is wrong, you'll need to reboot a few times.
If your phone number is right, and so is your IMEI, try the phone info app via wifi if possible.
If your phone # and IMEI are right and you can't get phone info, back up anything on your internal SD card and dial *2767*3855# on a stock ROM. It will wipe your phone and should fix the problem.
Found the *27 thingies in another thread
All is good now

[Q] Sim card

when i'm rooting/installing roms on my sg3 verizon, should i remove the sim card? or will it make no difference? I don't want to run into the same problem i ran into before with cm10.1 no data issue. took me 2 days to fix it, anyways.

No. And next time you should flash an unofficial build and change your mobile settings.

Flash back again to GB or find the right baseband for your country and i think it should work. Good luck
I also have problem with cm10 on o3d p920. First I installed on v21a baseband, mobile network was working but the phone was switching off all the time, sometime after short period of time and sometime after longer period of time. After that I change baseband to v21d, because in cm10 thread was written that it works only on v21d and installed cm10 and mobile network didn't work at all. Any solution? Somebody?

Skyrocket not reading Sim Card at all

Hi,
I recently sent off my skyrocket to get fixed to mobiletechvideos. I got the power button replaced(for I had no time to fix it myself) and got it back today. However, my phone will not even read my sim card. I am using a micro sim adapter, since I had to change it over when I got my previous Lumia 900. I think the adapter is fine( I hope so) and I cannot see why it is not reading it. If anyone knows a solution or if I should report back to whoever fixed my phone then I will, but is there a common issue i'm missing?
Much thanks!
Will be watching this thread as I am having a similar issue. however I didn't have any repairs to my phone, just stopped reading the sim card this past weekend for no good reason lol
Get a new sim from att and try it.
Update:
It shouldn't be my sim card, I'm using it perfectly fine in my Windows Phone. The issue is baseband says unknown. I spoke to Josh at MobileTechVideo and he said to restore it back to stock with odin, I did and it did not resolve the issue. Anyone have a solution?

I don't think it's the SIM card either. Even without a sim card you should still have a baseband. Have you tried that? Before you returned to stock did you have a custom Rom? If so did you try flashing a radio?

No Baseband at all, I did, however, following the previous posts, I sent it off to MobileTechVideos to get the power button fixed, came back with the sim card not being read. It has had the baseband unknown since then. I called them and by their recommendation I should flash it back to stock, which contained a modem.

Idk, it should be working. See if you have a baseband without the SIM card in. Maybe the card is doing something

Nope, I'm praying that it isn't anything internal dying out, Josh said something in the device could not be working.
