Title says it all wondering if we can use the Sense camera app with all the HDR and rapid fire shooting etc with the CM10 rom because stock camera app sucks no effects and no taking pics while video and no rapid fire shots
Fast burst and HDR Camera+ in market.

Third party apps work but do not match the sense features or quality.

Will never be ported as it requires Sense framework.

You can take pics while taking a video in the stock camera, just hit the camera preview...
A great camera application is ICS Camera+, just stock with some awesome features.
Is this really a tough work and "impossible"? Or just not worth time and work to port it?

Impossible. It relies on the framework.

He does because Sense IS ICS. I think you mean running the Sense camera on AOSP.

You can try Axiom S-Less ROM, which is Sense-based and has the Sense camera but looks like AOSP.

I know this will probably inspire a lot of flaming, but I really don't care about others opinions. I'm interested in porting a touchwiz rom and need some good advice as which phone to port from, and blah blah blah onwards. Anyone have some pointers?

I'll give the launcher a try if I can get my phone to agree with aosp radios.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yeah, this is the same launcher I've tried before and it's way too buggy for me to use. It won't add widgets or remove shortcuts without crashing. That was why I'd rather just build a touchwiz rom that way the launcher isn't really much of an issue

I don't think getting a TW rom is possible or if it is would take a god to get it up and going.

Well some devs have sense on the captivate, its just buggy. I would think touchwiz would be easier because its basically aosp

touchwiz is FAR from AOSP.....
it is as intertwined with framework, drivers, and dependencies as sense is.
i just dont see it happening on this device.

By now we all are very exited for ics which will be coming out any day but we all know about the ics update being sense 3.6. Its still good but tbh when I found out I was a little disappointed that we are not getting sense 4.0. Does anybody know that when we do get the update if any of the devs will be able to make a ROM with sense 4.0 or it will just be that we never get sense 4.0 in general

The rezound port would be better for us because the radio configuration is more similar to ours than the others. Resizing everything takes a while to do though.

since the rezound doesnt have native sense4 (and is HD res) and the inc 4g's is qHD, odds are any ports will not be based on either
from my end ill just take a stab at fixing data on our existing wvga sense4 roms from similar phones

Rezound is similar but not the same at all... My Rom for the Rezound made from the inc4 software could work but it would take a lot more modding than I did for the rez plus of course sizing will be hard, but now that you have your leak its doable for sure

Does anyone else notice how bad the sense keyboard is? The key detection is awful, there is delay on almost everything and it's plain ugly . Anybody have any recomendations?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I've actually always liked the Sense keyboard on this phone. To me, they got it right with Sense 4, where previous versions had awful keyboards. I don't have any problem with detection or lag.
I quite liked Swype on older Sense versions on my old Desire Z. Swiftkey seems pretty popular with XDA folks, also.
Sense keyboard got even better with jellybean. I find it faster than swiftkey. For some reason there is a slight lag to bring up swiftkey.
The thing that I hated most was the arrow keys, which they have fixed by giving us an option to have them on or not.

They added the arrows in sense 4 so that when that stupid black menu bar pops up it covers up the arrows and doesn't move the keyboard up, that way we don't have to change the way we hold the phone when a menu button is required (that is, before they released the button remapping fix)
