SynergyROM for Verizon. No problems personally to date. Great ROM with custom kernel. Overclockable to 1.9
And eschalon and TrevE recently built-in efs/imei backup as well. Gravy.

Ktoonsez released a great kernel I've been running on AOKP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853816, but that's only for AOSP based JB ROMs. OC's to 2106 and UC's to 96. Supports over/undervolting too.
Imoseyon has a TW based kernel, leankernel which I was running great on Beans and Synergy.

Hi,
i just got rooted my g2x 2.3.3 (stock rom), can anybody help me how to overclock it??

You need to flash a kernel that supports overclocking. Check over in the development section for one that's compatible with your rom.

After you flashed the new kernel you have to use something like SetCPU (from the market) to set the processor speed higher. You can set it up to the maximum speed allowed by the kernel you flashed. Just be careful about running it at max speed for too long. This phone is plenty fast at 1GHz so no need to set it too high and risk damaging your phone.

The best way would be to make a backup first, then follow the steps to flash the new kernel.. That way if you don't like it or if you have a problem you can always reboot into recovery and restore that backup..
Side note: its always a good idea when flashing anything to your phone to have a back up plan. Like what you will do if something has a problem or you don't like it.. Backup, backup, backup..
Good luck hope this helps

I tried this but it didn't seem to work. I saw the new kernel version in settings, and in SetCPU it showed 1100 as the speed, but when I went to adjust the slider it maxed out at 1000, not 1500. Did I do something wrong?
When in set cpu ; settings; detect new frequencies. Then try it.

There are two threads/ variations of faux kernels. One is for GB like this one and the other is for cm7 based. Use the other kernel 050b1 i think.

I running T15-G2x-06022012 with CM7 RC3 OCed to 1400 with out issues
For Faux's 014b2 kernel, which do you recommend when running Kwes' modified stock ROM (v21y)? I see pre-UV and stock voltage versions. I'm leaning towards stock voltage, but is there a major advantage for the pre-UV? (I'm not even really sure what is meant by pre-UV -- pre-under voltage?)
Thanks!
EDIT: pre-UV is pre-under volted. From a little more reading, I found that pre-UV means the kernel has a -50mv UV already. So if using UV/OC tools and apps, you need to take into account that -50mv already.

Whats the best kernel

To run with for an ICS rom?
Including Lighting and CM9 - which one is most stable.
Anyone provide OV/UV?

I don't know which kernel is the most stable, you could try the Team FAH-Q kernel.
As far as I know, no ICS kernel so far supports OC/UV.

Sorry, but you all are way too early for this thread. 3 kernels out right now that were released in the past 1.5 months. Lightning Zap-injectable/BlastoffV2-cwmTWRP/Hefe-cwmTWRP. They are all doing their best to improve each one and eventually have an finished stock kernel. I'm having fun with Hefe so far at 1.2 OC. He is working on a lot of stuff including the setting of UV values. In my opinion, they equally will be beast kernels as development continues. Thank the Devs for their precious time as they work hard, so be patient.
You know blastoff is a bml kernel and will NOT work on the ICS Flavored roms right?
I agree tho some of us (including me) were quick to say oc/uv wasnt possible and then jeffsf stroll's in and drops hefe.
Oh crap that's right. I was testing that on Valhalla Black. Sweet kernel though. Lol

[Kernel][AnyKernel] SimplyCM10.1-v1 [VoodooSound/Color][Linaro] 2013-07-02

SimplyCM10.1-v1 Kernel
These kernels are basically the stock versions of the CyanogenMod 10 and 10.1 Linux kernels, with the addition of Voodoo Sound and optional Voodoo Color. I've also added a few minor patches to get it to compile with the Linaro 12.09 GCC 4.7.2 13.06 GCC 4.7.4 compiler, which is supposed to make it faster. It uses my new AnyKernelEpic method of flashing, so it doesn't affect the ram disk your rom uses to boot, meaning this can be flashed to a wider varity of roms. For example, the CM kernel doesn't always change when a new nightly comes out, so this will still be flashable to new nightlys without me having to rebuilt it and you having to redownload it. This is also could work on CM9 / MIUI / AOKP / etc, but this is a 3.x kernel and I haven't tested it on any of those, so try at your own risk.
Look's like this isn't likely to boot on any roms other than Cyanogenmod 10 due to a recent change in the display driver there. See this post.

I don't think its possible right now for one kernel to work with either modem, so I would have to maintain two branches for that. Since I only use the stock modem, I wouldn't be able to test it so that probably wouldn't end well.

I knew there was a reason I keep all the old kernels and ROMs I have ever downloaded for my G2x. Links become dead or item is hard to find. I forgot about uploading 048. I actually used it longer than any other kernel.

There's a new version of faux kernel (054)

Also, the v6 supercharger link is broken.
Thanks for making this!

You mean to say the XLP right? Cuz the latest ELP was 06022012 or was there any other? One more thing. About battery life does ELP or XLP works better or the most recent OCd ones

Same for me... it still beats faux's in terms of battery life surprisingly. But I just wanna know if the newer ones were more battery friendly or just more power friendly (power in terms of speed)

That too but I meant elp and elpmax.
Dunno about comparison but I find his kernels the best for cm 7. I usually UV my kernels

If by support you mean it's not being update morfic commented on it that he doesn't feel the need to fix what ain't broken.

Originally I created this thread to showcase the CM7 and GB kernel lines. The reason I choose this is that I personally have used every kernel i uploaded. And thats the other point, I uploaded/mirrored these specifically as most new members are first time flashing this phone, so most tend to flash CM7/GB ROMs for stability. Alot of this older ROM material is getting buried/harder to find or the links are dead, and the latest has been government seizure of hosting servers.
That being said, if people want this to be a thread containing a collection of all kernels old and current i can change it up. I will need your help as i am a full time college student and work full time as well. Any kernel that you would like listed in the OP, please link me, or if you have it on your PC, PM me and send it as an attachment via email. Any kernel i list i want to upload /mirror that way i know the links are valid, and if for some unseen reason the current service im using for hosting gets caught up in a government seizure, i will be able to move everything to a second site more easily.
As always, open to suggestions and appreciative of your help.
