music player find music - Asus Transformer TF700

hello,
I bought this transformer last week, and is very good, I'm really enjoying. but I encountered a problem, when i connecting an external disk, how do I get the music player select the folders you want to play? instead of having to select a song at a time? know some application? or how can i select definitions of the player to select the folders?
i verify that if i have the music in the transformer it find, but i want from the external disk.
sorry if my english isn't the best.
thanks

I don't know if there is a setting with Google play music app to tell it where to look for music. It might just do scans of everywhere. I use poweramp for Music play back. You can set the directory for music with that program.

That's really work. Thanks
I can choose where to find the folders.
Thanks
Greetings

How to play this file on TF101 or any other Android device?

I can't seem to figure out how to play the following stream on my transformer? I tried BS player as well as stock browser and dolphin for pad.

Hi, this is an ASF stream (Windows Media Video 9 - WMV3). On your PC try to save it (stream it) to a file with Videolan etc. and then (re)encode it with Mediacoder, HandBrake etc (DVD Catalyst has presets for Android devices including Transformer but it's not free). Good luck.
Agreeing with above, and adding that IMO Handbrake is your best bet. Encode the file as MKV. Android can play MKV files natively.
Thanks guys but what if it was a live streaming?

i use download helper to make a copy of live recordings on my pc then do the conversion later using what ever program you like.
have you tried Tunein Radio app? it's a player for online radios, and I use it to listen to a Radio I like that broadcasts in Windows Media format (at least for it's desktop edition).
Its a video file though

Is that link still active?
Try the streaming on yxplayer... and tell us if it works
have you tried using remote desktop and have it stream while you view your desktop?

Noob Question: Media player recommendation

I have microSD card with audio and video files. I use BS player to play video but I need an audio player that allows me to browse and play audio files from the microSD card directly. I can use BS to play the audio files too but it doesn't play in the background. I have to be in the player all the time.
Appreciate any input, thanks

Thanks for your response. Both Winamp and Google music didn't let me browse my microSD card. It's possible I'm doing something wrong. Winamp didn't even locate my device for wireless sync.

I would suggest VLC. It's in the Play Store if you're not in the US or Canada. Otherwise, you'll need to find the nightlies at videolan.org.
MX Player.

Besides Google Play, does the infinity come with a movie player and music player? Or does anyone have good suggestions for some from the google play store? Again, like in the other thread, I am coming from the galaxy tab which had one. Thanks

Try Apollo, it's made for CyqnogenMod, and it's great if you don't want to use Play Music.
From what everyone is saying, MX Player and BSPlayer are the best video players

for music, if you don't want your music in the cloud and rather have it on your device, i suggest PowerAmp.
for movies, MX Player Pro is my choice for anything thats not mkv, avi or flv. But i believe it can handle those formats as well. For those formats, i like to go with DicePlayer.
I like winamp personally for music. Particularly because it has a lock screen that automatically take the place of your standard lock screen only when winamp is loaded and being used. This lock screen gives you the option to skip and pause and such. When at this lock screen, you can tap the unlock icon and it drops you to your normal unlock screen so you can enter PW/use lock screen short cuts, and so on. I use this heavily on my phone, so this may not be a selling point on a tablet, but you never know.
I use and like Apollo. The only real complaint I have with it is that it makes your album artwork kinda pixelated, and its also not tablet optimized. That said, there's really only two tablet optimized music players out there and they both suck.

I used poweramp for a short time. There was something about it that I didn't like, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was as I was trying about 4 different players at the time.

Its gotten much better. I would use it as my main player, if i didn't have all my music in the cloud.
Yeah I used to not like Poweramp as well, but they have changed it alot and it is my fav music player app now

May give it a second chance if I become disenchanted with WinAmp. I've been using Winamp for many years on a PC. I've grown accustom to the UI, colors, and hearing the occasional "Winamp, it really whips the llama's ass"
I'm using playerpro for a long time and works great. Also downloads lyrics and art, etc.

Adding a +1 for PlayerPro. Nice with different themes.
Seems like player pro and power amp r what I'm looking for... They both cost five dollars a piece... Any arguments for one over the other or experiences from those that have tried both

Can't speak for playerpro but apparently maxmp is working on Google Music integration for Poweramp which I'm looking forward to. Check out the forums if you're curious about upcoming features.

FWIW, I'm an audiophile and keep my music in .flac on a NAS. I am not willing to use any kind of streaming for my own library. After trying many many things, I've found powerAMP to be the best compromise. It's custom library scanner is indispensable in this situation. MusicMatch lyrics plugins is kinda nice and I love the high level of customizations possible.
I use it on my ICS tab, and GB phone.

What are you using to stream tv shows / movies?

Hello,
Recently came across XBMC for streaming media content. Works pretty good on the TF700. Just wondering what everyone is using these days for their movie/tv show streaming?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
I use FX file explorer to get to the file then MX player to stream.
I would prefer xbmc if it wasn't a battery hog and had a way to prevent inadvertent screen touches. MX player has that feature.
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.
I use Plex and the usual steaming apps like Netflix, Hulu and Crackle.

BS player is a pretty good choice for streaming via local media server.
es file exlorer - fav free
or
fx file explorer - fav $
with
dice player - fav & free ...
AW: What are you using to stream tv shows / movies?
i have PC with SageTV running as central TVServer for recordings.
Unfortunately those recordings are stored with strange naming-convention and are spread over several drives and folders. This makes it quite complicated to stream seamless.
So there are two ways i use to watch those TVrecordings to my TF700
1. use SageTV-app for android to browse & download and then play with MXPlayer
2. use splashtopHD to connect on the serverdesktop and directly stream the remote-desktop. That works pretty well in good quality and without stuttering if wifi-connection is in good shape.
I have also tried plex-server and android-client, but i donĀ“t like the android-client of plex
Watching live-tv is done using Dreambox with enigma2 and approprite android-app to browse epg & stream.

I am using a straight SMB share from windows, bsplayer gives me smooth play with a 10GB+ BRrip. May have something to do with my beam steering wifi router, but I get great, smooth video on wifi.
