Ok, so I'm sick to death of waiting for HTC to fix the touch button issue so I want to send it back for repairs, so I need to bring it back to complete stock.
Now, I have a backup of the stock rom with root but when I restore it I get stuck in a boot loop. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Next, I have CM9 running at the moment, so If I just relock the bootloader can I run the RUU and will it restore back to stock?
Sorry for being a noob but I've looked and I cant find a straight answer for question 2.

Are you wiping before you restore your stock ROM? Yes relock using fastboot OEM lock. Then run the RUU.

Hello, I have a question
I had on my sensation a custom rom
But i wanted back on a stock rom.
So now, i flashed a PG58IMG,but I have not thought about it that I no longer have root.
I've successfully instaled it, but when I start the mobile phone now I'm just the htc logo and no further.
So guys, anyone can help me with my problem.
I Think he bootloader is broken
I recommend going on youtube to find a solution, just search "how to get back to stock rom" or something like that, i am sure something will pop up, and see where you went wrong, if you did, or google it

A sure way for going back to stock is flashing a RUU. You'll still be s-off and you need to check that the RUU is compatible with your cid.

Pull out the battery, insert it, get into bootloader by pressing and holding vol down + power button hold them until you'll get into bootloader. Connect to a computer, change on fastboot mode and You are ready to flash a RUU
I know there are already a few threads like this around but needed a little more concise answer... so apologies!
I'm returning my phone for issues with the power button being unresponsive and wanted to relock the bootloader and return it to stock software and recovery. I'm good on everything except the recovery. After the latest ota update I can't get any RUU file to work that would relock everything since the 2.35 RUU isn't out yet I guess. What is my best solution for getting this back to day 1 so I can return the phone? Do I need to just manually flash the recovery? Will that get rid of 'tampered' on the bootloader?
Thanks everyone!

Now also having issues with HTC Development text showing up every time you start the phone. Kind of a dead giveaway. Anybody have thoughts?
Does anyone know any way to get the One S back to as close to stock as possible? I'm returning my phone to T-mobile for service and I can't get 'TAMPERED' to disappear from HBoot without the RUU. Also, now having an issue with every time I turn on the phone it has the developer text on the splash screen even though it isn't entering hboot or recovery.
Does anyone have any ideas on either issue? The only threads I can find are people with pretty much the same issue and no solution or pre 2.35 updates.

Sorry, I should also mention I've loaded a nandroid backup of the stock rom without root and attempted to flash the "stock" recovery. I'm not sure about the recovery because I don't believe it came from the 2.35 software and that's when I started to have issues with the splash screen. Loaded TWRP back on and still same issue.
Also, was having issues after with the device not loading to anything but bootloader until I re-unlocked it then it started fine.
I don't think you're gonna be able to do anything without ruu

That's kind of what I was afraid of. Any ideas on when that could be? Or if HTC would have that file?
from personal experience, dont worry about it, t-mobile wont care.
I had a sidekick that I bricked, and there was no way to even power it on, went to tmobile with custom sw and recovery...
also I had a sensation that i sent back with custom rom and a custom recovery because the phone would not get power, never heard anything about.
I read somewhere online that tmobile returns the phones to stock even before they check them.
if you send it back as is, you SHOULD be fine... ive done it twice.

Could you provide a link for the stock nandroid? It would be much appreciated! I am on CM 10 but can't get back to stock. The stock nandroid I downloaded the other day fails upon restoring everytime.

I just used the one in the dev section.
This is in regards to me wanting to remove Team Venoms Rom...not sure if its Viper Rom or Venom Rom anymore. Whatever it may be I just want it off and back to stock :'(
I regret ever rooting and loading this custom rom. I just want to know how to get back to stock.
As of right now if I try to restart or power down my phone it always goes to clockwork recovery screen. If I want to get past that I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds.

If you have your backup from stock then restore your stock image. Having a rooted device will not affect you. If you are the unfortunate one to not have a backup, then look at this page for a stock RUU and run it.

RUU will put it back to stock but I can fix the issues you are having and have a rom that's just like stock but with a few tweaks.
I believe that the backup I created when rooting and loading this custom rom is no longer any good. Because before I figured out that I needed to hold the power for ten seconds to get things to work I was afraid and tried utilizing the backup I had just created.
let me look at that RUU page you just referred to me
After installing a RUU would you lose root? or would you be able to just flash another ROM if wanted?

Just use your old unlock token which you have received from HTC to unlock your bootloader again and you are ready to root again
Sent from my HTC One S running TrickDroid 4.0
Last time I heard, one had to get a new token after an RUU update. If you are using the same ruu as the phone was on then fine. Else you might have to get a new token.
I might me wrong. Just something I had read somewhere!

Ruu or not your phone will always say tampered an ruu will not allow a return to HTC.... When I returned my phone I hooked it to a car battery charger and fried it till it would not turn on at all...why don't you guys try a different custom Rom first before you go through all the trouble of ruu...there's a few good ones on the site linked in my siginature... If you still want to ruu your phone go to the site linked below and pm me I've got a T-Mobile ruu 2.35 if you used an ota and took your phone to HTC jellybean then you can't run ruu any way...

Yes I finally got it back to stock and S-On! was having trouble when flashing the RUU, I kept getting an 155error, all I had to do was manually put my phone in Bootloader and it would continue on there, (I was ment to do that automatically), I am all ready to send off for repair :good:

Now if you made a nandroid backup before you flashed the RUU, when you get it back from teh rpair shop you can just s-off again and reflash your back up and it'll be just like you left it, only less broken.
