Hey all,
Not sure if anyone has run into this, or has an idea on it so I figured this would be a good place to ask.
I have a G1 with JFv1.31 on it, and recently ported a number over to replace the number I had on the phone. After a few days, inbound calls and texts are correctly going to the phone at the new number, and outbound texts and calls show the new number correctly in the from/CID.
However, in Settings -> About phone -> Status, the old number is still shown under "Phone number". After doing some reading, this is the number that's used to auto login to T-Mobile hotspots, and will cause issues still showing the old number there. As far as I've read, this is generally changed by an OTA from T-Mobile, which I imagine won't work on my rooted G1.
I've tried wiping the phone, but the old number is still there. If this can be changed via an OTA update, I would imagine it's possible to change myself since I have root access - the only question is where and how? Has anyone ran into this or came across where this data is kept?
Any help's appreciated.
Thanks,
-Dan

I ran into this myself, but I'm not sure how to change it on the g1 itself. I just threw it in my old razr to change it

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I had switched from Verizon to T-Mobile to get the G1, so I don't have any other phones that use SIM cards. Were you able to make the change on your Razr yourself after switching the SIM or did you have T-Mobile send an update to change it?
Thanks,

I was able to do it myself. There's a way to change it lurking somewhere in the settings on the razr. I couldn't tell you where for the life of me though. It took me a little bit to find it when I tried.
hello everyone, I've been having problems with my sim card since friday, after I flashed cyanogen, and I believe the kernel mod by netarchi, I wasn't able to send text messages, even tho I could receive and make phone calls, receive sms and use internet.
I called my carrier and they told me that everything was normal, we tried everything and it was just not working everything was pointing at the phone, I tried putting my sister sim card and it worked. we were able to send text messages, i tried my sim card in my sister phone and it was sending sms too... so I went to one of my carrier offices and they gave me a new sim card, and now it's fixed, even tho they told me that it was my phone's fault.
so now I wonder, do u guys think that maybe I bricked my sim card, while flashing a file, (baseband specially) I know it sounds totally weird but is the only logical explanation to me.
or it could just be a coincidence.
it probably is just a coincidence, you should also check your APNs and things like that.
I've had that problem before. Rather then give you a new sim, they could have just repushed yours over the air. A reboot of the phone and it was fixed. The problem is caused by you trying to update the wrong sms number to the sim card. (done in the phone info screen). Leave the sms number alone.

I have a Droid 4 in Canada on Rogers Network. I'm running the Stock ICS (although I've tried with CM10/other custom roms as well) on the latest firmware. In the status page, my phone number is listed, as well as a good signal and the network I'm connected to. So I can make phone calls and send text messages, but cannot receive either. I can't exactly try another SIM card because it uses a Micro-SIM and I don't want to cut up another SIM to test it (yet), although my SIM works fine on my other android phones (Droid 3 and Captivate Glide). I've done a phone factory reset, as well as doing a fastboot through RSDLite to truly factory reset, but same result. I've tried making build.prop changes but they made no difference either.
Any suggestions? I don't see any option on the phone that "rejects" phone calls and SMS.
Hi
I have 3 network unlocked SGS3. I got this device with 4.0.4. I tried to update this with 4.1.2 using ODIN. After flashing My phone says emergency calls only. My IEMI and serial number is fine. It was showing signal bar but when i tried to make the call it says not registered on network. Then i took it to a local phone guy he did some thing phone starting working. He flashed with optus 4.0.4 firmware. It was working fine. Now again i have tried update this with 4.1.2 INU firmware version. Again got the same problem with Emergency calls only. I checked whether it is locked again but GalaxSim says every thing is unlocked. Again strange is When i try to make a call to this SGS3 mobile i got ring tone but SGS3 never rings. But i can see that signals are reaching to phone. Because i tried to make a call using land line by putting mobile beside of it when tried to make a call to SGS3 i got disturbance in landline normally it happens. What could be the issue? is it problem with Modem version or some thing else? Please help me.....
Thanks in Advance
i have a note 5 for sprint (sm-n920p) i have it rooted and unlocked for at&t i flashed the MOAR rom on it. for some reason whenever someone calls me it doesnt recognize who is calling me even if their number is saved and when i try to call back the number that begins with a + sign it doesn't go thru, is this a carrier issue or does anyone know how to fix this?
