Sleeve case for TF700 - Asus Transformer TF700

So I'm probably one of the few that actually liked the sleeve case that came with the TF101. i.e. this one I've owned the TF101 for over a year and after upgrading to the TF700, I find myself looking for a very similar case for the 700. I don't plan on buying the keyboard so any concern over that is moot. It's a shame they aren't backwards compatible otherwise I'd use it. I'm looking for a sleeve case like that above, not a carrying sleeve. I also prefer soft, rather than hard shell too. All i've found were cases similar to this where its a rigid square form factor around the tablet.

Touchpad Accessories

So it appears there are official keyboard and dock/charger options...but is it possible to use say a third party keyboard with the Touchpad? If so will any bluetooth keyboard work? Are there any other docks that work other then the HP one?

a question for people who have had them for some time, is a case or screen protector necessary? Does the screen scratch easily, or will I be fine without one? I never like to use cases, my evo and xoom were fine without one, but i keep hearing that the build quality of the touchpad is not that great so thinking about getting something to protect it.

jonhern,
I would say a case is necessary just to make your tablet more portable. I would hate to put it in my backpack and mess up the screen because you don't have a case around it. I don't think the screen protector is necessary, but if you don't want a case it might come in handy. Just remember, you'll have a 10 inch piece of glass floating around that would be very easy to scratch.
Also, this isn't really a cheap case but it is very high quality:

I have a version of this case for my nook color and love it. It's very sturdy, looks quite professional, and has a built in stand with multiple positions. It is worth the money!

Yeah, when i took my xoom anywhere i would just stick it into my leather folder legal pad. nothing ever happened to it. just worried about the build quality of the touch pad and if it would be more prone to scratches, on the shiny plastic body and glass. the xoom was metal and glass, so felt more sturdy.
seen a few on ebay around 15 to 30 dollars for synthetic leather...

$50??? Kind of kills the deal - $50 case for a $99 tablet? The leather cases for $15 on ebay look ok.

On the hunt for a TPU case for the TouchPad, or any iPad 1 TPU cases that have been confirmed fit the TouchPad. Thanks.

You need to be careful with the third party cases. Yes they may be cheap and look night, but they can hamper the tablets functionality.
I purchased the offical HP case off of amazon.
Why? Because it does not cover the bezel.
There is a swipe up function in webos that is suppose to be pretty neat, but typically (depending on your orentation) you swipe up from the bezel at the bottom to activate this feature. The feature actually only uses a pixel wide sensory area at the bottom of the screen...but people at precentral report difficulty activating this feature when the bezel is covered.
Hence why the touchpad case from hp does not cover the bezel.

Compatible $5 iPad 2 sleeve for HP TouchPad @ VZW
Several people on FatWallet have been reporting success with this iPad 2 sleeve from Verizon Wireless, currently for $5. Owners say the TouchPad fits just fine. Be forewarned though - VZW has a $35 restocking fee return policy, so if you buy, buy knowing you'll be keeping it if it doesn't work out for some reason. Not like you're out a lot, anyway.

How did you pair it?
I selected keyboard in Bluetooth and turned on my Apple Bluetooth keyboard and my touchpad could not see it.
Also anywhere to get another charger with the proper 5.3v 2amp at a reasonable price? You can't use just any USB charger because if it puts out only 5v it will take about 3 days to charge.
I just ordered a silicone cover for a ipad, I will post how it works out.

I would be interested in hearing what make/model you ordered, and how well it fits the tablet. I'm looking for something to keep the fingerprints away .
Anyone ordering an iPad cover for use with the TouchPad needs to be sure to order a cover designed for the original iPad, not the iPad 2. The original iPad dimensions are extremely close to those of the TouchPad, but the iPad 2 is much thinner. The TouchPad will not fit in most cases designed for the iPad 2.

Possibly found the best rugged case for Touchpad?

I am currently using a Griffin Ipad1 folio case, paid $5 from the verizon sale, classy high quality leather look, well built, great protection and most importantly it doesn't block anything. I mean ANYTHING including the most important speakers which is also where the heat coming outs also. It is almost a perfect case to use it at work and school but I am trying to find something little bit different when I am using it at home.
Most of the Ipad1 folio cases will work but just depends on the style and the quality you want. I am thinking something close to the otterbox style, I tried a few cases and been reading alot online.
Otterbox, as everyone know it does not fit unless someone smart comes out with a easy way to modify it to fit then it will be the most ideal case.
Speck Candyshell hard case, some said it will fit so I ordered one from ATT (Since you don't like it you can return it back to retail store). It does but it's little bit loose so it's not secured enough and the volume down is stuck. No go.
Hp OEM case, best fit and best looking case for the touchpad but not enough protections compares to the Griffin case. If you have an OEM case, you should try out the griffin case.
After countless hours of researching... saw this little Speck IPAD1 rubber case that might work for the touchpad. It's called Speck Pixelskin Silicone Soft Grip Case for IPAD1.
Someone is selling on Ebay for $10 now, does anyone have this to confirm the fitment? Thanks,

Old style saddleback leather case....

Is there a place to get a nice brown saddleback type leather case at? When I had my TF201 I bought all the cases that were from $10 to $35 and they all had the same Chinese crap quality. Literally all of them. They basically all used the same material and design and just put their company name on it. I ended up with a Caseen type case which suited my needs.
When I was on Tuff-Luv website looking at their cases they actually grouped the TF300, TF201 and the TF700 as the same case and all used the same size. I wonder how the heck this was even possible?? When you select the case there is no option to indicate what model you have, so apparently they are shipping the same case for all three models. Very strange.
That's a great question. I've done some leather work in the past and I'm thinking that I could purchase an inexpensive pleather case, like the minisuit and take it apart , modify the design and then transfer all the cutouts to a nice piece of leather... maybe tool it...I don't know, maybe just something nicely tanned, and stitch or lace it together. It would be a project, but fun and could end up pretty nice.
Is there a particular cheap case for both tab and dock that has the best arrangement of cut outs for port access?
I would pay for the poetic folio case for tablet and dock in real leather. I use a zenus case for my galaxy note and have been looking for something in real leather besides the noreve. I just don't dig its design at all...

That is very strange indeed.
I am currently using the Tuff-Luv saddleback case that I originally purchased for my tf201 on my recently acquired tf700 and I can tell you that overall it does fit nicely except for the headphone and hdmi port cutouts. All I did was use a leather punch to notch out new holes. The micro sd slot also does not align properly (half covered) but I don't worry about it as the sd port is not something I require constant access to and I know it wont accidentally pop out.
Perhaps tuff-luv has modified the Prime case in a manner to accommodate the ports of all the TF models. I would send them an email for clarification. Tuff-Luv's is great a Co. to deal with.
I also want to add that the quality/type of leather used for this case is just awesome. It's the type that just gets better with age. I am truly in Luv with it!

Cases

Are they are rugged cases for the Surface yet? Or any Windows RT tablets? Seems like Windows Tablets are getting no love.
Not seen any, just using a folio I picked up from Amazon for now, the Pro will hopefully get something a bit more hardcore though.
I'm using a very nice sleeve case from Amazon that fits really well and doesn't add much at all to the size. Not ruggedized but does offer padded protection and fits with touch cover attached:
EasyAcc 10.6" Tablet PC Laptop Sleeve Pouch Case Cover for Microsoft Surface RT/Pro(Black, PU Leather)
From what I've experienced and heard, however, you don't really need one. Heck, CNET dropped one from about ten feet, landed it on the edge, and it was almost undamaged!
Yeah I've heard about them being left on the roof of cars, better safe than sorry, also gives you places to put stuff of you get one with flaps and stuff..

Just came across a rugged case from Incipio:
http://www.incipio.com/bags/microsoft-surface-sleeves/capture-case-for-microsoft-surface-rt.html
Rather pricey, but looks high quality and only one I've come across in the year I've owned my Surface.
If you're in the right country you can see more on the MS site as well, Incipio stuff on there, wonder what deal might be going off in the background...

[Q] Sleeve with stand?

Looking for a sleeve for my nexus 9 that can also be used as a stand. I have a book-type case for it but I'd rather not have the back covered when using it and I thought a sleeve would be a better alternative for when not in use rather than having to pop the device in and out the case all the time. There are times when I 'd want a stand feature though which most sleeves tend to lack. A working HTC smart cover would be the ideal solution but it really is a useless!
I found one on amazon UK but its a bit bigger than the N9 so I was wondering if anyone knew of any other similar type designs that will give a more snug fit. I would post the link but I haven't posted on here before so I can't! If you search Mulbess sleeve you'll see it.
Thanks!
