Possibly found the best rugged case for Touchpad? - TouchPad Accessories

I am currently using a Griffin Ipad1 folio case, paid $5 from the verizon sale, classy high quality leather look, well built, great protection and most importantly it doesn't block anything. I mean ANYTHING including the most important speakers which is also where the heat coming outs also. It is almost a perfect case to use it at work and school but I am trying to find something little bit different when I am using it at home.
Most of the Ipad1 folio cases will work but just depends on the style and the quality you want. I am thinking something close to the otterbox style, I tried a few cases and been reading alot online.
Otterbox, as everyone know it does not fit unless someone smart comes out with a easy way to modify it to fit then it will be the most ideal case.
Speck Candyshell hard case, some said it will fit so I ordered one from ATT (Since you don't like it you can return it back to retail store). It does but it's little bit loose so it's not secured enough and the volume down is stuck. No go.
Hp OEM case, best fit and best looking case for the touchpad but not enough protections compares to the Griffin case. If you have an OEM case, you should try out the griffin case.
After countless hours of researching... saw this little Speck IPAD1 rubber case that might work for the touchpad. It's called Speck Pixelskin Silicone Soft Grip Case for IPAD1.
Someone is selling on Ebay for $10 now, does anyone have this to confirm the fitment? Thanks,

What case are you using?

I'm using the RF one from BestBuy. I'm thinking of getting a cheap rubber one and seeing if I can cram the RF one in for actual protection lol. I'm curious, what are you using?
I just ordered one for my sons triumph on Amazon..its a rubberized plastic black one I do believe.. should be in sometime this week. Didn't really like the one from best buy & had a hard time finding a decent one because none of the ones I found shipped until the 15th but they're all pretty much the same.. and only like $6 or $7 bucks plus shipping. Probably not the best but its better than nothing...
I bought one of those $6 black silicone cases from eBay and I'm very happy with it. The power button is easier to press now and I don't accidentally hit the volume buttons all the time (though they're also easier to press when i need them.) I didn't have to cut anything like some people have reported, as all the mic/speaker/led holes are in their proper places. Quality is about on par with the [much more expensive] Marware case I have my old iPod in.
I don't like cases so I ordered a neoprene pouch off ebay.. it looks exactly like the one for the nexus one if you know what that looks like.. good to protect the phone when it's in my pocket

I went ahead and slurged for the Rocket Fish case over the weekend, pretty happy with it: nice, tight fit and adds very little bulk to the phone. The phone still fits in my leather belt pouch. The case rounds out the Triumph's corners and gives the phone a surer grip. I am much more comfortable carrying my $300 phone around now and I'm very glad I bought the case.
I still wish that Otterbox would come out with a case for us, but the Rocket Fish will do for now.
Motorola Triumph Rubberized Hard Protector Case - Smoke Diagonal Checker
I can't post a link due to me being a new member but search " Motorola Triumph Rubberized Hard Protector Case - Smoke Diagonal Checker " on Amazon.
I received the shipment on time as the order said it would. I opened the mail package to find a very sturdy case with a comfortable soft touch with a bit of grip. Not too much grip that will make it grip to anything; additionally, exactly enough comfort to feel durable and comfortable at the same time. I expected a cheap plastic case with no grip. I am very surprised from the seller on such a great price and product quality. Highly recommend this to first time buyers, or to whom loves their phone enough to spend $4 on keeping the phones appearance and quality at a high rate. Kudo's to the seller. =]

I have the same one.

Mine was only $3 and i really like it. Easy to take off, really sticky and protective.
I bought two cases off amazon, both of the same brand from different sellers. The transparent smoke plastic case is crap. The black plastic is very nice, it feels stiff, it's just tacky enought to give it a good grip but not stick in your pocket, and its got a bit of springiness to it. Not bad for 5 clams. I'm sure an otterbox would be a lot nicer and tougher, but spending 40 bucks on a case to protect a 220 dollar phone? No.
i am using nillkin tpu case with free mofi pouch,I can insert my phone with tpu case into pouch.i like it

I use the Rocket Fish case. I have dropped the phone like 15 times, and the phone is still fine. All the case seems to do is prevent cosmetic damage. The phone is solid as, excuse the pun, a brick.

iPhone Trash
I am so sick of ipone this, iphone that. Everybody makes sweet cases for the iphone but leave out the android guys for some reason. Can't these manufacturers think outside of the apple bullcrap. I guess not, that's why android users are stuck with cheap lazer printed plastic junk that wears off within a few days of handling the case. Oh well, I am still a happy android user. till next time.

the thing is, with iPhone's they only have to make 1 to 2 depending on how they make the cutouts (since cdma and gsm versions have a bit different button placement). With android there are 30+ phones for every version of the iPhone. And prepaid carriers usually don't get the best of the cases... At least zagg makes screen protectors for every or near every recent android phone. It would be nice if they made a case for each phone, but that doesn't happen.
I have a pretty good case on my Triumph, it's a snap on but it's durable & don't look bad either.
Honestly, I've been using mine without any kind of case, and it's great! I've owned several phones and an Ipod touch before this that were awful without cases due to the shells being slippery, but the Triumph has a grippy rubberized exterior that feels great in the hand. Unless you drop your phone a lot, I wouldn't bother with a case.
I got a Fosman hard rubberized for like 3 bucks shipped from ebay. Great case for the money and like previously posted a 40 buck otterbox on a $220 phone is a bit of overkill.
I use the Black (Argyle Interior) TPU Crystal Silicone Case Cover For Motorola Triumph on for about 5 bucks. I have dropped the phone a few times and have no dings or scratches anywhere. It is thin enough to not affect the size of the phone and does it's job. I would recommend it over the silicone cases or even the snap on cases.
Whatever one is the cheapest at any online retailer. I would not buy one for .01, mind you, as those are most likely scams! But anything from a reliable retailer at a low price (I replace my generic ones every couple of months).

[Q] Need a case

Got the phone as a gift and I'd like to put it in a case. I will never use the keyboard and all of the cases are geared towards having the slide mechanism operational. I would like a case where I can just put the phone inside, doesn't matter to me if I won't be able to use the keyboard, something like a tpu case for non-keyboard phones.
Thanks
Here's what I use.....

I had the same problem on finding the right case, and to be honest, the Otterbox is one of the nicest and sturdy cases I've used. It isn't too bulky nor does it grip in your pocket. It's pretty good material also.
a $10 case perfect for me (access to usb and headphones ports) and ready for larger battery if I decide to get 3600mAh in the future :
PIC1
PIC2
PIC3
PIC4
I'm sure it can be found online for half that or less with free shipping from China, I just couldn't wait 3 weeks when I bought my phone
The trident case, or the fishbone case are the best options for this phone.

Mybat vs. Ballistic vs. Seidio vs. Ionic

Hey guys,
Recently I bought this and while it looked great at first, it dawned on me that it doesn't tightly fit my device and the bottom part of my Nexus 4 has slipped out of the case a couple times..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-BLACK-...959490?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item56513a4042
So now I'm hunting for a new case. I've had really good experiences with the Seidio case with my Nexus S, but it's proven to be rather expensive compared to what others have offered. Wouldn't mind going back if it's the only case of this category that is the best fit and protection for the device.
I was looking at the Mybat but was concerned about the actual bulk of the device, and it being easy to remove as I often take off the shell from time to time. Also, no one seemed to comment if the case interferes with headphones with L-shaped plugs either.
The other two contenders are Ballistic and Ionic, heard great things from both but unsure which is better. I did hear that Ionic cases attract lint very easily but I do like its price very much. Not a fan of the bubble-back design though. Heard great things about Ballistic, but like the Seidio case, the cost is making me apprehensive about purchasing one.
Mybat: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-Nexus-4-...4?pt=PDA_Accessories&var=&hash=item2a286793ca
Ionic: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00A06Z41E/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3KQDBCHA3FRT9

Seidio: http://www.seidioonline.com/lg-nexus-4-active-metal-kickstand-case-black-p/csk3lgn4k-bk.htm
So what do you guys think would be the best?

I have the iconic and thought it was too thick, so I ordered the Ballistic one and it's even thicker
I'm tempted to try the ACTIVE but I have spent so much on cases it isn't even funny....
Edit...I just bought it on ebay for $24.99 and free shipping.
When i had my gs3 i had a variety of cases including; cheap ebay "tough" cases with kickstands, an otterbox defender (never again), and a ballistic sg. The Ballistic is a GREAT case. It was sturdy, the phone would never pop out, the plastic was nice, and the silicone inner was much better than the plastic inner found on the defender. The silicon not only prevented scratches, but also prevented dust and any other unwanted items in. It almost seals the device. When i bought my nexus 4, i was very dissapointed that there weren't any decent protective cases out. I knew the ballistic sg was coming, but ive had my device since december and needed something for the short term... Something to get so i can wait for the ballistic. I was almost going to buy the case you bought, but i really don't like kickstands. I searched on ebay and found the mybat tough case, I bought it as it met all my requirements; it was cheap, it was protective, it didn't have a kickstand, and it actually looked good. The buyer i bought my case from shipped the case very fast to Australia, (which suprised me, usually these types of cases end up taking about a month) To my suprise, the case was really good quality for the price. The cutouts were (almost) perfect, the fit was pefect, the phone doesn't move about at all. I paid 15 dollars shipped to Australia compared the 70 or 80 odd dollars it would cost me to buy a ballistic shipped. I had the case on for a day, and I loved it...Until I tried to hang up on a phone call... the sensor on the lg is very sensitive, and this case just blocks it enough to stop the screen coming on. This fault was quickly fixed with a drill bit, and since then, i have had no issues, and will continue using this case for the remainder of the phones life. I simply prefer the whole case over the ballistic i had on the s3. However the ballistic was slightly better made, it doesn't warrant even a 15 dollar increase over this case. I love this case. (Note in my pictures the proximity cut out I modified) I did a custom design with sharpie marker on mine and it came out awesome! I wouldn't do this to a more expensive case as id be worried about wrecking it, but since these bad boys are so cheap, who cares. If this broke, i wouldn't think twice at buying another one.
Edit: This case also works with my energizer qi charging mat.
that back is awesome!
FYI the ballistic case works with the LG-WCP700 wireless charging pad. I do however find it is harder to hold on to as it's slippery compared to the Ionic. It's also larger than the Ionic.
I'd go with Mybat (because it's cheap and looks decent) or the Active (because seidio makes a good product and I like the kickstand.)
i also love the look of rugged cases.. been using them ever since my first smartphone
currently i am using this armourdilo case that i saw online.. it is available for sale on mobilefun website or i have seen a seller through eBay AUS...
availbale in a varieety of colours as well although i stuck the standard black on black ...
as well as many youtube vdo reviews bout it.. so i decided to buy it.. really good look and feel..

The case is easier to get off than my ballistic sg on the s3 was. With that said, if i drop it, it doesn't feel as if it will fly apart. The case has interfered with one of my L-shaped head jacks, and works with another.. i just use a simple headphone extender when i want to use those earphones.

I have the ionic case on mine wasn't too sure from the pictures but I like it and the circles on the back aid grip.
I also dropped it from about 5feet and it bounced on all 4 corners but the phone was fine!

Best rugged case for the 10.6?

I'm notoriously bad about dropping mobile devices, so I'm looking for a good rugged case that doesn't add too much bulk to the tablet. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Edit: Oops, that should be for the 10.5, not the 10.6!
I went for this one and although it weighs 290g I'm confident it's strong enough to protect from drops and other than the weight I wouldn't describe it as bulky:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00N46ACUA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Also unless you buy one made of carbon fibre (£££££) you will of course add some size to the tablet regardless of which case you go for, it's a trade off between protection and dimensions.

I definitely expect a protective case to add a little bulk, but the Otterbox for this tablet is just WAY too bulky.
I think I found the case you referred to on the US Amazon site at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N46ACUA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2IHZFOHOQ0WG8. Opinions?

I think the only difference between them is the colour used and the fact the stand can sit the tab in portrait but the materials look the same.
Yeah that third one doesn't have a stand which was something I wanted also it doesn't cover the screen so dust etc. will get onto it plus I reckon the case I have could potentially protect against a small amount of liquid.
Also that case looks like it'll feel quite clunky in your hand.
Best thing to do is order one then return it if you're not happy.
good protection
which one did you finally buy?
I'm also looking for a good rugged case for my wife's Galaxy Tab S 8.4. We bough a toughbook and she still managed to get a crack on its side.... She's dropped her tablet and the screen never came back on. It was even protected by the EXO rugged hybrid armor case, AND it was in her purse. It just slipped off of her winter coat on to the ground, and that was the end. So we're getting it fixed, but need a heavy duty case. If any suggestions on what you did buy, it would be appreciated.

The most rugged case I found is the BobjGear Rugged Case for the Tab-S, plus it has cooling because the tab-s runs warm.
Lots of drops from my grandchildren, even down a flight of 13 wooden stairs, and no problems. And it is not expensive either.

Looking for reviews on Seidio Surface (good and bad)

http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung...-kickstand-combo-black-p/bd2-hr3ssgt4k-bk.htm
I purchased the Seidio Suface and the Surface holster, received a couple of days ago.
Initial thoughts is this case feels like cheap EBAY plastic shipped from China. The fit seems loose from the top section to the bottom section, case also makes crackling sounds when pushing on the sides of the phone. I am not impressed when holding this case on a call. It really does feel like it will fall apart at any second and my Note 4 will hit the ground.
I would like to know if this is just a problem with my case or if this is indeed how this case was produced.
Thanks
Mine fits like a glove. I love it. I like the feel of the plastic compared to the actual other really cheep Chinese plastics like the speigen. I couldn't stand the tough armor and the neo-hybrid didn't feel much better.
I guess you might have a bad unit, or it's a personal preference thing, I sure like mine though.
I just got mine and it fits perfectly. I like how it feels and it both looks and feels like a very high quality case. I still don't think it's worth $35 & freight but it is what it is. For that price at the very least Seidio should have included side rocker switch covers. As I mentioned on the other cases thread Best Buy sells the Surface as their Platinum Series for $20 less than Seidio and no freight charge. If you can wait until they get them in stock that's how to buy one.
I did not get the holster because the Surface uses a different holster than the Combo so I can't comment on the holster.

Every holster case I have bought, the dang belt clip would always break off when sitting down and bumping something. Has your clip broke off? Looking at this holster makes me really want it, but I would prefer to get a little more use than just a couple days.
Thanks!
My last 2 phones had holsters w/ clips and I used each for 2 years with no problems. My last phone had a BodyGlove ToughSuit case and the one before it had a BodyGlove case that was considerably less rugged than the ToughSuit and the clip was removable. Both of those cases are in as good of a condition today as they were when they were new.

i had the seidio surface with holster for the Note II. i liked the case, but the holster clip broke after a few months of use. seidio sent me a replacement and that also broke within months. hope they improved it on the Note 4 though.
The one siedio holster that I broke on a previous phone, was my own fault. Let's face it though, with the note 4, it's a big phone and you will likely need to be more careful with whatever you get to attach it to your belt, depending on your body type.
Short of a maxpedition magazine holster, I can't see anything else stand up to some of the things I have put mine through. Overall I am very satisfied with mine for the quick access and duability for the price.
