SD Card Issue with FH13 AGAT tREC_v0.2.1 recovery? - General Questions and Answers

Can't move apps to SD with the Agat FH13 recovery kernel. Same problem on both work/personal E4GT. Both flashed with mobile odin. Didn't have issue with stock recovery. Haven't tried other flash methods yet. Any other suggestions besides trying FF18 stock kernel?

[Q] Just deleted update.zip, does it matter?

I have CWM flashed and PeanutButta novoodoo kernel and the SD card fix. I saw the update.zip sitting in the root dir of my sd card, and thought it was something brought in by the ClockWork Mod App (which tried to install it's own version of CWM, 3.1.0.1). So I deleted that zip but it occurred to me that it may have been for something else. Was it important? CWM 4.0.0.1 still boots up...
I am curious about this as well. I am thinking the update.zip gets the contents of the otas, and the stock recovery loads from this file for ota updates. If so, is this is where the modem zips for the fascinate came from? Help me out if I'm nuts, just trying to shed my noobishosity. Oh. And if you have a stock odin tar, I think that no, it matters not.

[Q] Why Cwm don't do this?

Ok. My sidekick 4g is rooted, i installed rom maneger, flashed clockwork mod, but when i want to install a rom from sd card, i boot into recovery, but i dont have the option of installing from sd. So i cant install any roms. anyone know why? i wanna instal smooth maximus already in my sd card.
maybe just try going into recovery mode the regular way, without using cwm? then try it that way? did you save the .zip of the ROM you want onto the root of the sd card?

CWM has to be installed using a computer. It can not be flashed using the phone.
Flash your recovery with this:
[RECOVERY][APP] 4-28:One-Click NvFlasher ClockWorkMod Touch 5.8.1.3/5.0.2.0/4.0.1.5
I run the 5.0.2.0 version, it should work just fine for letting you access your external SD.

[Q] TF300 with accessible CWM - bootloop - which ROM?

Hi, I've been trying my best to find the right answer to my problem here on the forums for the last couple hours... but I give up
I have the US_epad-10.4.2.9 20120809 bootloader installed with CWM 6.0.1.4, with no backup (accidentally lost).
I accidentally installed the wrong Cyanogen Mod ROM and that resulted in bootloops. Now I tried the cm-10.1-20130707-EXPERIMENTAL-tf300t-NEWBLOBS.zip ROM and it bootloops too
So I can access fastboot ok, and CWM, I can even access my external sd card, so this is where I have been trying to instal CM10.1 from.
Could my external SD be causing me issues? Can anyone recommend me a way to get CM installed?

SH-T959V trying to update passed 2.3.6

Hi guys I have an old phone that I am playing with and after I updated it to 2.3.6GB all stock in Odin I started reading about the possibility of going to ICS and further. So I installed a modified kernel with v.5 CWM and tried to install different ICS roms. In recovery I cannot install anything .zip it aborts. I cannot do an update.zip I tried stock kernels, I rooted but cannot get to flash in recovery. I read it my be the CWM having issues that can be fixed. I formatted my SD card with Minitool and added a EXT3 partition. I know Rom Manager doesn't work well with this phone or GB or whatever so cannot update CWM to the v.6.0.4.4 that some require. that I cannot install in recovery no matter what combination of tricks I try. So any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

This is what has always worked for me:
1. Use Heimdall or Odin to flash stock GB (apparently you've already done this)
2. Use Heimdall to flash AntonX's Basic With A Twist Kernel (you might be able to use Odin or SGS Kernel Flasher (I always use Heimdall)
3. Once Kernel is flashed, you will have CWM recovery and can begin to flash other ROMs.
