How to install?
just put in your sd card root and flash via racovery like any other custom rom.
- u need 4EXTRecovery to flash

Hey, this might be stupid, but isn't it just waaaaaay easier to rum gingerbreak (or even flash a SuperUser.zip)? If you'e flashing a ROM and want something close to stock, why not flash LBC mod? What's the need for "Pre-Rooted Stock ROMs" ?

some ppl just want latest stock room with root permission
thats it.
but if u want to use gingerbreak u need to have hboot 0.98.0000 to get root but new stock roms are 0002 and up..basicly u need to downgrade ur new build to old one then root..with this one u can easly flash via recovery...

My Bootloader version is 0.98.0002 i wanna downgrade it to 0.98.0000 for this purpose can i use the pre-rooted rom of yours to get a rooted mobile and then proceed with changing of the version number and flash another rom with 0.98.0000 bootloader.
P.S Already tried to downgrade and ROOT mobile but Gingerbreak is not working for me , I think the exploit is fixed in my version

to be honest i'm not sure do u need to be rooted first to flash .zip's because i personaly never try this roms on non-rooted phone.In theory if u have clockworkmod recovery u can flash .zip files.
Gingerbreak will not work until u get hboot version 0.98.0000

To go back to previous hBoot download and flash as normal. It worked for me. Let me know how you go on for next step.
Before you do anything install HTC sync, boot your phone normal, connect with USB and double click what you just downloaded. Atleast it will give you previous HBoot.

What did you do different I've had this ruu for some time now
I tried again last night all it does is bring up a bootloader error 140 as the hboot cannot be downgraded from 0.98.002

Hi, Install HTC sync from HTC site about 150MB or around , because when you run RUU and software puts your phone to fastboot, it looks for drivers and if the drivers arent there you will get error. Also try Thi version of RUU. One of them should work and put your phone to previous HBoot. After that do complete uninstalltaion of HTC sync and install drivers from Alpharec's site and do the rest. I hope that you are successful.

Stupid question, what are the disadvantages of using a Europe or Asia ROM in Australia? Previously have only flased on the Telstra WWE ROMs since that is what came stock, but want to try the newer Europe 1.47 ROM with newer radio.
I know it will remove the telstra branding, e.g. boot screen and apps. But that's ok cos I actually WANT that. Just wondering the downsides. E.g. will my Australian APNs all disappear? Will the language locale be wrong or something?

I`m S-OFF with Alpharef, so i have this 6.28.... something HBOOT Version.
When i try to install this ROM, did it flash the HBOOT back to 9000?

For a second I thought it was JB ROM for the One S. What is it taking it so long for a JB Rom to be leaked for the One S? The one X had JB based custom Roms for a while!

It is a stock 4.03 (1.11.701 Build) but this was very hard to find for me (sorry, i speak no Chineese ) so i thinked i post it it here... Much S3 Devices swapped via hungary general distributor to the EU and are here available for about €300.- new here in german speaking area!
So the problem is they all are S-ON and it is no SuperCID for S3 available till now (online tutorials failed for me). So if u ulock bootloader, flash recovery and flash a custom ROM you can´t go back without the right RUU for your CID...
If someone have a idea how i can get SuperCID or change my CID to "HTC__102" (Europe WWE) it would be great!

What about the standard procedure: unlock, root, then pull block mmcblk0p4 and search for the CID (i would guess its at the exact same offset), hex edit that block and then push it back to the chip.
That doesn't work on the VilleC2?

If you Upgrade to 4.04 ,You can not flash RUU 4.03 because Hboot is height than old version 4.03.Please waiting RUU 4.04 HTC WWW Asia or change CID complete for S3 version guy .:laugh:

im a old semi-dev (like semi-god lol just a joke) but mostly for samsung and motorola devices.
this is mmm, lets say my semi first HTC device, i briked accidentaly a HTC Sensation 4g, resiving an ota, i forget to change my cid.

There is no best way, there are many ways.
If you are s-off, just run a ruu of your choice with the hboot you want.
Check what cid you need for the ruu (HTC__xxx) (because a ruu will still do checks). I prefer a og HTCcid over supercid anyday, you have experienced that already.
cid is now easy to change with a fastboot command (or leave the supercid).

Its a bit slower going into bootloader or recovery its not much so up to if you want to upgrade also a newer one don't have the loading bar.

Run the RUU
Safest way to downgrade your hboot to 1.06 is to install the shipped rom RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.53.401.2_Radio_0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S.06L_release_251412_signed.exe

Updates to piss us off before S-Off lol. I just don't see the point in doing this with S-Off, if we didn't then ya downgrading was good but now to me its bad.

Yeah I used that one to update to hboot 2.15 in order to get use the new 3.4 kernel and the newer ROMS. However I don't have S-OFF, as it only works with the Tmous 3.14 (as it says in the thread), and I have the Telus 3.16 version. My problem is that with this new hboot and radio update, I have no service :/ I installed the new CM and even tried some other ROMS with the 3.4 kernel, they all work fine except I never have any service. And I am not s-off so I can't go back or use a different RUU :/

I read that you can use Moonshine on this ROM now. So you have a choice. Apply moonshine and see if you can fix the radio that way or take it back to the shop. At least it is "as shipped" in it's current state so as long as you are inside the warranty period they should replace it.

Just turn on your phone,.connect to pc, run RUU.exe from PC and you are done.
Note that you have to RELOCK your bootloader before running RUU.

That is an ICS OTA. find an OTA with firmware version 3.16.xxxx or 3.14.xxxx JB OTA

You can use any JB OTA for s4. But don't flash firmware.zip. steps 11-16. Skip them.

HTC dev download links only work if they are initiated directly from the htc dev page due to a certain session cookie, so accessing the links directly never works.
Besides, that link is for the encrypted RUU.

I have an international version device (s-off) so I assume that if I modify the info text to my device mid and cid I can run this RUU using fastboot. Is that correct?
If I did install this on an international one, would I have any problems other than network settings?

Is this the same as an RUU.exe file? I mean it does a full wipe of the device and revert it to completely stock?

You'll loose wifi calling. an RUU can be either. EXE is for people who dont want to run commands. You can just follow the direction in the OP and its the same thing as running the exe.

Yep, in the HTC Dev Website.
If you dont have an account you will need to create one. Then you log go to downloads and download the RUU.

Then download the first one.
HTC doesn't allow direct linking so even if I give you the link it wont work.

Yes. It'll work fine. It is NOT a flashable zip though. Look up how to flash firmware zips. Again, do NOT flash in recovery.

Ok.. If i install it on my T-mobile htc one with s-off ,it will convert it into developer edition with android 4.3 and latest radio.. Right ??
And what's difference between this exe RUU and the custom RUU zip that's uploaded in this thread?

Is your device the international HTC one?
If yes, did you use the RUU.exe or the RUU.zip and did you have to alter your mid to run it or did you have to adjust the android-info.txt in the RUU.zip?
