An amaxing KERNEL for TW and JB - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I mostly visit XDA Developers but I have been using this kernel from rootz that I was not able to find on XDA. I think it's an AMAZING kernel and thought that you guys should try it. I hope I'm not stepping on anybodies shoes here and this is just for FYI
The TW Kernel link is
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31329-kerneltouchwiz-leankernel-minimalistic-kernel-821-v03/
and the JB
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32286-kernel-aosp-jb-leankernel-minimalistic-kernel-v07-beta-82012/
Again, if this is in violation of some code that states not to share info among forums and such, then I'm sorry and please feel free to delete. I have been using these Kernels (both TW and JB) and have been phenomenal (batter and performance)!

new kernel dev needed

Since we lose intX and his kernel, anyone can take over his kernel and continue to update? Lets take a look the dev forum, except mohans rom and kernels , almost all thread is cm ,aokp roms.
Don't think you're gonna find help this way. Since the only incentive is interest, you'll just have to wait.

I've been thinking about building a custom kernel.. there are some extra modules I'd like to include anyway.
I've built the Linux kernel thousands of times, including cross compile for arm and custom patch sets etc.
But for some reason when i tried building an Android kernel a few months ago it just wouldn't boot no matter what. So don't get your hopes up.
I'll give it a shot though when i get a chance. You mainly want some extra governors? Under volt?
I'd rather start with a fresh cm base and merge in specific things as i go.

Ill be doing kernel builds and theming soon. I can do rom builds but we have enough devs for that at the moment with the rookie thread bringing in quite a few new devs. I have done things going on with my 4 daughters but as soon as I get that worked out ill be moving to kernels. Will be about a month before I have my first custom kernel released.

I knew I'd get this reply. I searched "Touchwiz" in the development forum and I am not finding any touchwiz UI roms. I mean I can go stock and root, but I was hoping to find a touchwiz roms with the improvements people usually add to custom roms.
thanks for the quick reply
Well there's galaxy mod, synergy, eclipse tw, delta two, beans rom.. Those are some that I can name from the top of my head.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
You are not finding them because you didn't read the ROMs threads telling EXACTLY what these ROMs are based on. Most of the ROMs on the android development section are based on Touch wiz unless posted otherwise.

There must be some kind of miscommunication going on here. The first two pages I looked through not one ROM was using the TouchWiz UI. They're all the stock android UI.
Maybe I'm not asking the right question?
I'm looking for the stock TouchWiz UI experience, but without all the bloat and other crap that comes with it stock.

I'm staring at the first page of the dev section (not original dev) and I see a minimum of eight TW rom threads. If I understand you correctly, you just want TW with as much stripped out as possible right? If so, try CleanRom Lite Edition. Seriously debloated TW JB 4.1.1 rom.
You say "stock android UI", but stock for us is stock TW. AOSP is not stock for this phone.

Haha glad everyone could help! Basically, OG development is for those who built from source or developed something truly unique. Development is for the items that do not fit into that category. Typically all kernels and most AOSP roms will go into the OG dev section whereas mods, guides, and TW roms go into the dev section.

[i9500][4.4] BAM ROM - Discussion (call quality fixed?)

Hi everyone!
As someone posted this link in the CM 11 thread, I decided to check it out Mod edit Link removed
According to that page(translated through google translate) there are no bugs. *nothing on vid cam, call queality!*
Unfortunately, when trying to flash the rom, it gives a black screen. Unlike others on that page that successfully manage to flash it.
Someone try to flash it and check if the current bugs we get on CM11 are there.
BAM is a taboo in xda. And I don't think they could have solved the issues but if they actually did. We can use it.
Hi,
I checked the link and as a conclusion :
- not sure the op owned i9500 because he publied many threads in differents devices' sections.
-in all the feed back there was, no one said that he successfully flashed the bam rom.
-Anyway we can interact with one of the team who released bam rom via twitter. @iGio90

to get BAM ROM working on 19500, u have to flash a compatible kernel with aosp 4.4 or cm-11.0
Does anyone here know where i can get a compatible kernel with aosp 4.4 or cm-11.0 thnx

the developer and his work has being ban form Xda because he broke a bunch of rules. So, i suggest to try to ask the develper of the rom about issues you have and beware of the consequences of it, and avoid mentioning this rom around here because you might as well get some kind of warning from moderators

No foul language please. Do respect everyone here in XDA.
Here is why;
1. ROM isn't booting
2. Developer of the ROM is not giving any support here on XDA or anywhere else (If checked more closely).
3. No other developer supporting this ROM to make this work.
So what's the use of this thread? Better to be closed to avoid useless posts & discussions right?

The dev who created bam rom has been banned from xda and as such any discussion regarding his roms is not allowed on xda.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

You know, I've seen all sorts of negatives said about BLN, but most seem almost mythological. lol I've used it full time for about a year, on various kernels and ROMs. Only real bug I've ever seen is that it seems to interfere with vibration feedback at times with some kernels. Which, I can see why you'd leave it out for that. Was just curious, as that's my must have feature. Thanks for taking the time to answer!
