[Q]My HBOOT - HTC Desire S

Hi
I just wanted to know what is my HBOOT. I don't know how to reconize it so please can someone help me. It's written in my signature.
Is it the 2.0 or engineering 98?

It's neither; it's the 6.98.0002 HBOOT by Revolutionary that's based on the 98. I suggest you upgrade the HBOOT to the custom 7.0 or to the ENG HBOOT.

I wouldn't upgrade to 7.0 since it still isn't entirely compatible with all roms and downgrades methods, as far as I know. ENG Hboot is all right tho

Any Link for the Eng Hboot and what's the different between this annd the others

LOOK!It's My HBOOT INFO after upgraded to TW official SENSE!!

I swear ,it's not a PhotoShop production, and under the S-OFF mode I can downgrade!Who can explain this situation? I really don't know the reason. Because My original info is S-ON!
This is the RUU I flashed http://www.hiapk.com/bbs/download.p...083a3d2cc1c9337dcb7212ad9876a418182ef438fb161
PS:I tryed to use a RUU of virsion 2.16 with agoldcard to downgrade ,but failed... is it related?

How to dump SPL for analyse?
Oooh if you could dump that maybe it will be flashable on top of 1.76.0007 s-on using goldcard method! That would save us who are stuck on that!

Congrats dude! If you upload the RUU you used to flash, could you please post instructions for doing what you did to get it right? I'm used to flashing roms and SPL's, but wanna do proper research before doing something that can maby brick my phone. Would love it coz I'm not really into cooked roms.
Cheers bro.
This is a friend of mine,he have his G2 amended for he bricked his phone.
The NAND Flash (ROM) hardware has been replaced, notice that the info of HBOOT is:
(SAPP*****) which is difference from us (SAPP10000) or (SAPP50000)
So I want to know if there is any way to dump the whole content of the NAND Flash.
It is may be the key to downgrading from TW Official Sense UI or any other ROM with HBOOT S-ON.....

that hboot is of gingerbread one ..and flashing it would result in bootloop of your current OS
the revolutionary hboot is a patched semi eng-hboot (it has all the important features of eng-hboot patched to it ) ..no need to change it

i don't think so, revolutionary didn't had all features I wanted. So the process was flash 1.17 (yes bootloops) -> do anything -> flash 1.27.

I had issue with 'fastboot oem emapiWlanMac'. Can't post log now, but it was throwing errors, all went fine with 1.17.2008 SPL.
Yeah I was dissapointed a bit, because I've heard that 1.27.1100 had full support but np for me :good:.

[Q] Changing Radio with S-on ?

Hi there
My Desire S is currently Unlocked and S-On(HTC Dev) with HBoot 2.00.002 and radio 3822.10.08.04.
I've been using the Desire XS Rom with Amidabuddha's Tweaked 3 X kernel. I've been experiencing the camera issue with this ROM and the dev recommends that you upgrade the radio and hboot.
My problem stands with the fact that I can't upgrade them with S-On. I've searched and found no definitive explanations as how to do this. Could you please give me directions to follow as I can't brick this phone !
You can't change radio or HBOOT with S-ON.
You can install RUU that includes the newer radio and HBOOT, and then unlock again and install custom ROM again.
This should be enough info.
AW: [Q] Changing Radio with S-on ?
You have to be s-Off first.
You can't change your radio or hboot version with s-on, only way to do it would be to achieve s-off by xtc-clip or downgrade

Could someone please show me a link to an RUU with the HBoot and Radio as mentioned above ? Can't seem to find them in the index and HTC Dev is down.

Would this require me relocking my Hboot ?
EDIT :
So from quite a bit of searching, this is what I think I need to do...
1. Relock bootloader. From this thread I see that you relock the bootloader with "fastboot oem lock" ?
2. Install an RUU with Hboot 0.98.00000. I need a link to this.
3. Unlock and S-Off the device using Revolutionary.
From here, I'm a bit lost as to how to proceed to get to Hboot 2.00.2002 and radio 3831.19.00.110.
Are my above steps correct ? Normally, I'm not so lost with these things, its just a bit confusing especially because I'm stuck with S-On and hboot 2.00.0002.

Nearly correct, just you'll have to use misc_version to change the software version reported by the phone before the ruu will install. Getting hold of an RUU could be the most difficult step at the moment, though.
Try this for RUUs http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...-stock-roms&catid=65:htc-downloads&Itemid=107

Unfortunately, there's none, so quit whining, either just do it or wait for T-Mobile Jellybean upgrade.
The person that made the method is a genius, so just go his way. I'm still very junior.
Thanks for the Help
Any Senior members clarification or any link where i can get the needed information on this matter would be appreciated!!

I would suggest you S-Off your device. After that you can flash any hboot you want. Altho you probably won't need to anymore, since on S-Off you can flash radio firmware regardless of hboot version.

I posted up a bunch of flashable hboots here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39216236#post39216236
But once you're S-Off, you may not need to downgrade hboot anymore, because the restrictions from higher hboots are gone. If it's just for flashing different wifi and radio firmware, you don't need to change your hboot when you're S-Off.
You can find a radio (+ other related firmware) flasher here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998270
The only scary thing about getting S-Off is the part where you have to get superCID. But this is still less scary than going through the downgrade process. (Both involve poking in p4, but superCID doesn't involve bricking and recovering.)
I don't know which radio/wifi will work for your device and ROM. You have to experiment or search for posts by someone with a similar situation.

So what is your plan with a firmware?
If you are not s-off you can do absolutly NOTHING with a firmware.
This means with s-on you can´t go back neither with the firmware nor with the h-boot (wich is normally a part of the firmware).
You MUST go s-off before you can downgrade your firmware that´s the point.....also if your CID is matching

Oh really ? I never heard of that but I´m very interested about the process..
so can you please discribe exactly how to downgrade the firmware(h-boot, radio etc.) on HTC ONE MINI
with s-on if this works and is commonly used it would be great to hear more about that...
(so till now I was quite sure that you can´t downgrade to a lower version with an RUU)
http://hafizimtiaz.wordpress.com/20...android-4-4-2-to-android-4-3-return-to-stock/
and yes I know its for M7 but in this direction I think the rules for the M4 are the same.
Or does he mean a standalone firmware.zip wich is included in the OTA dumps?
If yes how it could be flashed? hmmmmm.....via fastboot?

To downgrade the firmware when you are s-off is no problem....it´s done in a few minutes...
So what´s going wrong with your downgrade?
In the Theory We can do downgrade with s-on. So anyone have the signed firmware from ATT?
