recieved mugen battery today!!! - Desire HD Accessories

hi all i just recieved my mugen 1500 mah battery for my desire hd
i will be testing it over few days .. and will report how the lasting has been
August 24
Have charged my battery as per instructions continuously for 8 hours... After that went into my flight with 96 percent battery.. Listened to music through out the duration of my flight about 2.5 hours
And my battery dropped to 88 percent
Doing my second charge cycle as I write this
Ok so the battery actualy does what it says.... Now my device lasts all day long still with 20 percent at the end

Cool. I got one about a month ago and am happy with it. Remember to follow the initial charging instructions. Also here is a link to a good article about getting the most out of your battery.

Congrats, but do you really feel that this announcement thread covers some extra need that the many existing Mugen battery topics don't?

How good is the battery though...
Can you give a screenshot of the battery stats (or a photo or just typed record) and also how good was your battery life before?
That does matter as different people will use the phone differenrly. Is your wifi always on, bluetooth GPS e.t.c
Thanks for the post though, I may buy one

I get amazing battery life with mugen power 1500mah battery I can watch four hours of YouTube on 3g
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app

Mugen power batteries are really good.
Operation time on the screenshot - 3d 4h 49 min.

I get - 3d 12h with Blackout ICS Incredible and standard battery - few calls, few times browsing in internet, few messages. My battery stat then seems a lot like yours.

People who get 3 days, should tell us exactly how many hours do they use their devices.
Cause having a phone powered off for 16 hours per day, it's not exactly the typical use.

Yeah it would also be good to know the screen on time, because it seems like my screen absolutely destroys my battery and I have no chance of getting over even 1 day usage. Im thinking of getting a new battery, but not sure it will be any better

Yeah thanks, I did use juicedefender for a while, but now I've decided that my display usage is causing all my battery drain. How long screen on time can you expect to get out of a full battery? I know that's a vague question taking into account data/wifi etc, but just a general idea would be good. Thanks

That's a pretty difficult one to answer!
I'd say it depends on the screen brightness and what you're using the phone for:
If you're outside a lot, and you have auto brightness, that'll mean the brightness is 100%. I use a small app called Lux, which is - I think - the only one that allows you to map your own brightness curve, and then decide the refresh frequency. Works very well for me, since I need less brightness indoors.
Processor load while reading emails/browsing is much lower than if the same screen-on time is for gaming for example.
I have also lowered the processor frequency when sleeping, so I guess that will increase the relative weight of the screen-on consumption.
I mainly browse and do emails: currently of 210 minutes on battery, the screen has been on 85 minutes and 38% of the battery has been consumed.
The use details section of the System/Battery summary says that the screen has been responsible for 64% of the battery drain.
I must also add that I'm using a custom ICS ROM, and there have been comments that the battery statistics are not 100% trustworthy, so take these figures as orientative.
Also, I have had the battery for 18 months, and Battery Monitor Widget calculates 1200mAh capacity. Again with the ICS ROM I have my doubts about this figure, I will eventually run a few charge cycles on the stock battery - which has broadly the same age - to see what degradation is reported there. Comparing the 2 will give a reasonable idea about how capacity for each one degrades over time.

2800mAh aoonen battery

Just got this battery today ordered it from fleebay few weeks ago, guna see how it goes, 1 thing is do you think the mAh is right was only £5 plus pnp so no big loss if its not better than the stock which I'm getting about 12 hours out of with moderate use

*Looks* like it may hold about as much as an Anker.
If it fits under the stock back cover............
There's no way that's a 2800mah battery. Do a couple test and see what the deal is, but it is definitely somewhere around 1500-1800mah.
works really good i bought it over on ebay it does wat it says for real i get through the whole day without a prob with modrate use aday and couple of hours i had the package where i get 2 batt which really is a great deal for 15$ better way bettter then stock batt i recommend iit to all fellow xda and ppl that looking at this post to buy it but be sure it have 2 batt and wall charger its rally handy product rating from me 4.5 out 5

[REVIEW] 1600mah batteries and charger

This is a quick little review of some 1600mah extended batteries for the desire HD. thees batteries where bought off of ebay from 2 different sellers, but both seem to be the same quaility and same manufacturer.
first of all, you can get these here
2x 1600mah extended battery with charger - LINK
1x 1600mah extended battery - LINK
So now for a bit of a review...
2x batteries and charger. - both batteries arrived relatively quickly, in a padded envolope. with there free shipping it was a little bit less than a week. came it great condition.
1x battery - paid $5 extra for expedited shipping, arrived in 2 days. works perfectly
Battery performance - all of the batteries have around the same performance. the ones with the charger have slightly less battery life but it is still better than the stock 1230mah. i can now easily go a full day of browsing the web and playing games without recharging. although, i dont like my batteries getting too low, cuz i know if they fully discharge it can be bad for them so at 20% i swap the one ive been using for one that ive charged overnight. the way i have it set up, i always will hae a battery fully charged. i have one in the phone and one in the charger overnight. wake up take both and put the other extended in the charger while i am gone. come back and before i go to sleep i swap again. they all get used equally then.
One problem that i have seen though, is that sometimes when i reboot or swap them out, when the phone starts up, it says there is 0% battery left. it is usually fixable by a quick wipe of the battery stats in recovery. has only happened to me in aosp roms though, sense runs fine.
overall, id give them a 4/5 rating because of the low cost and quality, but also because of that glitch(although it could just be software related)
pics up soon to show exact battery life and the batteries themselves
Okey n1 review. Perhaps i will get one of those batteries hate to charge all the time

I would love to see some stats/screenshots of Battery Monitor Widget just so that we can see what you mean by saying that you are browsing and playing games all day.
When i'm using my phone with the screen on all the time then i've got a drain of 1% per 5 minutes. That gives me a bit more than 8 hours before the phone is dead.
On the other hand the maximum standby time is a bit more than 100 hours (1% per 60 minutes) or more than 4 days.
That said you could have really great battery life if you've got more than 2.5 hours of screen on time in one day or it's terrible because the screen on time is way below 2.5 hours.
That's allways based on the assumption that your battery is depleted after 24 hours. "a full day" could also be a work day meaning unplugged at 6 am and recharching at 6 pm.
/edit:
about that 0% glitch: I'm using an Evo3D Anker 1900mAh battery in my DHD and got the same problem. I also think that it's related to me using an aosp rom.
I actually have this one!!! ordered from dealextreme.com!

There IS a battery that is more than 1300mAh, the Mugen 1500mAh. Search for it on this forum
There is also the Mugen skin that clips on and holds another 2000?mAh, but that is not entirely practical...

These batteries do hold more juice than the stock. I don't know why people are complaining about them. For $9 you get 2 batteries and a charger. Even if they where only the stock size, you can still swap them.

Battery Monitor Widget:
It's in german so this is what it says in english:
(in the info bar at the top you can see that i had still got 31% charge)
- has been unplugged for 1 day and 2 hours
- has been used for 5h20m or 20%
- screen was on for 2h31m or 9%
- wifi was on for 2h03m or 7%
- bluetooth was on for 1h32m or 5%
It doesn't say anything about how much the gpu was used (for example there is no reliable way of telling how much the usage of opengl drains your battery...at least as far as i know).
But it still gives you better info about how i used my phone and how much you'd get if you were using the same battery.

There will always be people who want an extended battery, but its really not needed unless you are using your phone to make 50 pho.e calls in a day or you play 3 hours of games. most people will be more than happy with the battery life provided by the One S.

no need for a Extended Battery here, where would the battery go if there was one
If you are in bad cell coverage (which eats more juice) or are a heavy user, pray god invest a few bucks into a Gumpack external battery. That thing is half the size if a pack of cigs and stores enough juice for 2-3 full recharges on the go. Its one little more gadget to toss into your daypack and remember to keep charged but its well worth the bother. Certainly easier than speculating about a bigger battery while batt life is fine for most users.
And I am not bashing, if you have a 1.5h commute to work and spend it playing GTA3 i can see where the juice goes. So a gumpack battery would be your best approach, with the current 28nm Krait architecture there is not a lot to gain batterywise really. Plus, the AMOLED sucks less juice on dark images, something to keep in mind when picking a background image I think.

I bought this battery in 2011y on ebay that claimed to be 2450mAh but it was only 1400-1500mAh.
Original battery works for me (on JB ROM) around 18-24h, with this fake - around 20-26h.

How well does it perform compared to the Anker one? The most I've gotten out of my Anker so far is three and a half day, but that is without using it a lot. I find that it mostly depends on the ROM you're using tho, and due to that I prefer the sensless ROMs, because they seem to run a lot lighter than their Sense counterparts. But hey, that's my observation.

What's your screen on time?
Someone got 4 days, 2h40m screen and 45 min in call using anker battery.
Skipjacks said:
Okay I want to put this business about bad battery life and battery bugs and all that jazz to bed.
Look at my battery graph. I rest my case.
Any battery problems are not with the ROM. It's clearly capable of having disgustingly good battery life.
That's 4 DAYS since unplugging with 8% battery life left as of right now.
That includes 2 hours and 40 minutes of screen on time
45 minutes of phone talk time
This is on the April 26th build. And this is the FIRST charge since flashing that build. So the battery use probably isn't even maximized yet.
My settings are OnDemand 192 - 1242
Anker battery
Auto Brightness is off and I use the notification bar swipe to adjust brightness as needed
Alterations made to the Google Services Framework to eliminate Google Wakelocks (this has nothing to do with Albino's code, hence it's not the ROM) Click here for more details
Greenify to keep other wakelocky apps on a short leash. (I'm looking at you T Mobile's My Account app. You're so useful but you think you own the place!)
Haptic feedback is off for everything. The only thing that's allowed to use the vibration function is the ringer (I don't use a ringtone, vibrate only) and reminder notifications. If you have haptic feedback on for every press on the screen and keyboard you are basically giving up battery power to run a small electric motor. That's not an efficient use of limited battery life.
Full disclosure. I don't keep mobile data on all the time. I turn it on as needed. And I've been very busy doing other stuff the past 4 days so there hasn't been a ton of use time. Obviously if I had been using it more it wouldn't have lasted 4 days. But if the ROM can idle for 4 days and not drain itself dry, then battery problems aren't in the ROM. They are with apps, settings, or user error. Albino's ROM can be configured to run for what may as well be for freakin' ever on a single charge. I'm half expecting him to add "sustainable cold nuclear fusion" to the changelog of the next build.
So if you've got battery issues, go buy an Anker before you do anything else. Even if you have other problem that will make everything better. And stop talking about battery issues in this thread. Come to the FAQ thread (see link in my signature) and ask questions about how to improve battery life there. We'll take all battery questions there with a smile and be glad to help you, where in this thread battery questions will be met with verbal beratement for clogging up the thread with whining.

dont mess with these batterys
they usualy fake, has a wrap that can be removed, and then you will see its says 1600~mah
the anker and mugen 1950 are real 1950 mah and the max power u can get without extending the case(anker is cheaper thou so its more recommended)

[!] Battery life - please post your results

Recently I tried latest JellyTime, CoolDroid, stock 2.3.5 and now I'm on CM7 nightly (only apps that I use).
I am really suprised by battery life and overall performance on CM7! I've used phone quite intensive: 5 h LCD (auto brightness), over 3 h Wi-Fi, benchmark and OC for a while, few games, some calls, SMS and other.
Is it normal "battery behavior"? What results have you got?

yea its one year old......i think i will wait more year with this phone and get a new phone ....changing the bettery is a waste
i think a battery should work normally for two years without a significant drop but it also depends on your usage. if you normally charge your phone once a day it should be so, but if you're a heavy tester or gaming enthusiast, that period will of course be shortend.
i also think that buying a new battery if you intend to use your phone one more year it's not a waste.
It's about 9 hours in a day) 3g only when i need, wifi. I'm gonna buy nexus 4 or one x, and new battery for ds) i love him)

2.5 hours screen time, wifi on, mobile data off, ondemand cpu governor. On Flinny's build 125.
3.5 - 4 days.
Normally charge when it's down to about 15% on a slow (usb 500Ma) charge to keep the battery cool
Currently it's at 86% after 15 hours.
this doesn't mean anything if you don't say something about wifi/mobile data and usage...
actually, i feel no difference whether the battery consumes more or not.
my desire (2 years old) hold two days
with contionous data on + 30min telephone and max 10 Whatsapp messeages.
