Hi.
I have just installed Tomtom (vga-version) on my Touch Pro and found, that when trying to enter an Adress with the slide-out Keyoboard an aditional character is added after each pressed button. This Means: i press "a" and "a°a" appears on the screen.
Does anyone else have the same problem or maybe found a solution?
Never noticed that problem before. Using last version of TT7. Maybe a rom issue with the keyboard driver.
Usually I'm using the soft keyboard of TT7

I can also confirm that this is happening to me with TT 7.915. I'm not completely sure, but I don't think it happened to me with TT 7.910
Do you all use the vga-version? I think it did not happen with the not-vga version that was preinstalled on my device.
I tried with 910 and 915, and I still get this issue :-/
Its hapening to me also. im using TT7.450 (VGA)
Buts not a problem to me. Tomtom is very fingerfriendly and it goes very smooth.
On a slightly different issue, what sort of refresh rate are you getting on TomTom in terms of map redraws per second? I'd guess I'm only getting one, maybe two, but I've seen Sleuth's video, and he looks to be getting 3 or 4.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Steve.
I also have this issue, although I never use the keyboard while navigating. If you didn't mention it I would have probably never noticed it! LOL
@maw: Well I bought a PDA-holder for my car which holds the Touch pro with the open keyboard, since I thought, that it would be really cool (which it is if it wasn't for the keyboard not working properly in tomtom)
@StevePritchard: I am not sure, but I think I get about 1-3 fps in Tomtom.
did you upgrade your ROM and noticed this problem? As I never used the keyboard with the previous stock ROM I can't say if the ROM upgrade effected the Tomtom interface with the keyboard. I updated my stock ROM with the new version that just came out. Maybe that is the problem, I don't really know.... Very good of you to signal this problem though. Otherwise I don't think this problem can be fixed, I guess we'll just have to wait on a new version of Tomtom to fix this problem. Have you reported it to Tomtom?
no I did not upgrade. I didn't even know, that there is an available update. I am running the stock rom (from o2 germany) that came shipped with the phone.
Is there an update from htc?
No, I did not report, since my Version fell from a truck... I was just wondering whether it was damaged during the fall or if everyone has this problem. ;-)

Its a TomTom error, the newer TT versions dont have that problem.
I used to get this when running Elite RC2 - I moved to ROMeOS and never had the problem

What do you mean by newer versions? I use 7.915 - Is there anything more recent?
I'm getting the same problem, and I've got 7.915 as well. No-one found a solution then?
i had this problem on 3 different versions of tomtom, along with hit or miss signal. it always thinks im inside a building but in the 1/20 shot it works i cant do anything or else "im inside a building" again. i just dont think tomtom was meant for the fuse
It is not a TOMTOM issue. It is an issue with the IME. Here is the fix.
I have attached KforTouchPro_v1.0.0.3.CAB
1. Install the cab
2. It installs to your games folder because this is a fix for several games that have had this issue (I originally discovered it because I had issues using the HW keyboard with logmein)
3. click the Switch to M$ IME button. Now you are good to go!
Thanks - I have just tried it, and TT now works fine.
The problem now is, that other things don't work anymore... I tried writing an E-Mail and it wouldn't let me abort the mail. It displayed the Messageboc, but did not accept any input. Since I write more Mails than I use TT and don't like to keep on switching Keyboard map I is not a real option.
Do you have any Idea?
Hmm.. odd, when I updated my TomTom it just disappered, I have your version aswell, good that there is a update though for you
that K for touch pro, is that KforRaphael that maps certain keys for MorphGear?
I had that installed, but cant recall if it was erroring before that, anyways, good it got solved
Hello,
I have a unlocked HTC G1 running firmware 1.5 baseband 62.505.20.17th_2.22.19.261
I would like to move to firmware 1.6. and update the baseband if necesary.
Can any of you genius make a slight modification to a build so that the kayboard layout is QWERTY and not QWERTZ (I am in UK). The phone is originally from Germany so the character Y and Z is swapped. In the past it had been rooted and the characters remapped by a friend but unfortunately as soon as the phone is unrooted the layout reverts back to QWERTZ. I think when the flashing takes place (during unrooting) the phone somehow knows its country of origin and picks up the QWERTZ mapping again as default.
Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Just installed this little driver http://sotolog.net/bluekeyboard/ and my old iGo Stowaway keyboard now works. I know various people have hacks to get this to work previously - but with this simple install, your just configure the keyboard and are away. No terminal command lines, no rooted phones - it just works.
Great! - Just thought you should all know.(bluekeyboard is available in the Android Market)
help! the link is down, and i would love to get the kb to work with my t-mobile g2. can you send me the file? hope that is not a hopeless newbie question, but i can get it paired, get bluekeyboard installed, configured, and seeing the keyboard to select it in setup, but it will not connect!!!
thanks.
Mark
Application is available in the Android Market - I just re-downloaded it to confirm.
It sounds like you have everything you need. You just need to pair it with your device. How you trigger pairing on your keyboard depends on the keyboard. The stowaway use the 2 Fn keys held down for a few secs and the LED then pulses.
I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to something you had to add to bluekeyboard. I have paired the kb. It will simply not connect. I thought I saw a customer comment that it does not work on 2.2, which my G2 runs. Everything seems configured, unless I need to press something on the kb to get it to connect. Argh
Hi
Can someone send me the apk or upload it somewhere? For some reason after I upgraded the ROM, bluekeyboard can't be found in market + if i use market website it says it is not compatible with my device (a htc desire).
weird...
Hello
I have a Nexus One on Vodafone and received the Gingerbread 2.3.4 update on Friday (previously had 2.2).
THE KEYBOARD IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! Why does it no longer auto-correct? Or insert punctuation? Or a full stop if I enter two spaces? Or guess what I'm trying to say?!
Any help would be appreciated - (I searched for an answer and found someone with the same problem in December 2010, but no answer was given )
Thanks!
Same problem, i have messed aroind with all the keyboard settings but with no luck. I hope somehow this can be solved.
Thanks,
Malli.

Has anyone tried reinstalling the stock keyboard from an apk or anything?
Hello,
I have just upgraded to the latest nightly of CM10 after reading that it supports the official Samsung keyboard dock. It is working overall however some keys are mapped to CODE:0 Unknown and one to the wrong button. I have included an image to show what i mean.
Im just wondering if anyone has successfully edited the .KL files to fix this issue.
Thanks.
