If your sensation supports usb host mode then buy a host cable and a usb card reader, the sensation will read the card then just bluetooth to the other devices

I believe my sensation doesnt support USB host device.

Another option would be to get an mirco sd card to sd card adaptor plug in an xgb in to the adaptor use it in the camera and at the end of the day put the card in the phone and send it were ever

With the latest kernel from SebastianFM, you can have OTG, but you must have a powered cable.
USB OTG for the HTC Sensation on ICS Sense ROMs

I meant use an sd card adaptor.
The ones that convert mirco sd to sd card size that should work.

8.9 Usb adapter + 2,5mm HDD

I have one of those cheapo China USB adapters.
It works fine recognizing my storage when i hook up a pendrive but now i tried it with an external 2,5mm HDD and it didn't get recognized. im guessing the tab doesn't provide the HDD with enough power for it to run.
here my question: is it just my cheapo china usb adapter? does someone have the official samsung one and could try it out and see if external drive (without power chords) are supported?
would be awesome!
No, it won't work, there's simply not enough amps to power that.
I suggest getting a powered USB hub then making a battery pack for it (I'll get around to taking a picture of mine - I use it with my N900 and 8.9 with USB HDDs, DVD drives and USB data cards.)
yeah i imagined sth like that.
i have a usb hub but i was hoping to just use the drive by itself.
would be interesting to see your battery pack hack! please post some pictures!
Looking forward to seeing this battery pack
I have tried it a couple of times but the battery pack i made did not last very long
Why would you need a hub? Most come with a dual USB cable. Plug the main one into the tab adapter and the other one into a battery pack with USB. Should be a touch less cumbersome and you don't need to build anything, unless you really want to.

yes, as long as you can power the drive separately.

The drive must also be formated with FAT32. The GT Tab won't read NTFS.

Is there Any Way to get Expandable Storage on the One X?

The One X has no microsd card slot, so I was wondering if it's possible to externally expand its storage like using an external flash drive.
Yeah you can but you have to use a powered hub and a USB y cable. Take a look in the general section. There is a topic about an otg cable and USB working.

Thanks for the link, but it seems you need to carry a charger for it to work, so it's not much use since a phone needs to be mobile.
Yeah. Either a charger or a battery. Kinda sux.

The Airstash or the Kingston Wi drive comes to mind. Both can hold charge for around 4-5 hours.

Why do people say no mirco sd when theirs usb OTG

Wondering why people say the lack of sd card is no go when theirs usb on the go

usb-otg is nice but you have to carry around at least one more "device".
a sdcard is installed "once" and you never have to think about it again.
Hello, the answer for your question is, when the device you are using acts as a host for any of external storage, the *battery drain* is alot faster than normal condition and obviously you cannot charge it at the same time. The phone can withstands that condition for about 20-30 minutes. So the USB OTG Is a no go as compared to SDCard.
If battery is not the issue, go for it!!!
Also if you are thinking of forcefully adding OTG capability to your device using root permissions, THINK TWICE. It may cause damage/ burning of internal hardware.
Hope I helped you.

I really thought USB OTG was nice, until I realized that you would have no way to charge to device while watching a movie.
If you're listening to songs then it's a hassle to have that extra wire and drive sticking out from the phone.
However, USB OTG is still very useful for being able to have a keyboard to type with when you don't have access to a computer

Usb org?

Just curious does the nexus 5 have properly functional usb org? I know the 4 had issues and I'm seriously considering this phone so I want to know going if it'll work.
Sent from my microwave...
couldn´t you care enough to write your request correct?
usb ORG ???
USB OTG? I assume?
It should. It was mentioned in the leaked service manual. It was supposed to be the in N4 but it wasn't powered so the device had to be powered itself which nearly defeats the purpose of having USB On-The-Go functionality. I am pretty sure Google wants this included.
That being said, I do not have the device yet. But I made the assumption myself that it will be a feature. I am planning on getting an USB OTG and a small HDD so I can interchange movies I want to watch.
If it doesn't have USB OTG, well even if it does, I might get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DR8LBAK...UTF8&colid=FM53JINJQWF5&coliid=I1XFD8MJC41TD0
I guess I believe native OTG will work, but I bought this http://www.amazon.com/RAVPower®-Wir...=1383381104&sr=1-1&keywords=ravpower+wireless just before the USB host "dirty" fix was engineered for N4. Very flexible--power bank, SD case and flash drive ports, broadcasts to mutliple devices/formats simultaneously, and allows web pass-thru when web Wi-Fi is available.

Interestingly, OTG isn't enabled by default in the kernel, so the stock kernel shipping out with the phone definitely doesn't have OTG support.

I hope that's the case and that it just isn't enable yet
