Based on the guide that provided by Android Authority
Copy the corresponding bootanimation.zip to your devices SDCard. Using Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, place the new bootanimation.zip file in /system/media/. (You may want to backup your previous bootanimation.zip as well.)

You can also use "boot animation changer" it less of a hassle then go trough the exploren.
Just a tip, select the boot animation you want and youre golden. I am just lazy.

You can also just copy it to /data/local.
Android will use the /data/local boot animation before /system/media.
No need to backup the boot animation in /system/media.
If you want to go back to the original boot animation, just delete the one you copied to /data/local.

Problem half bootanimation
Hi
I'm sorry but I have a problem with this bootanimation.
I copy the bootanimation as bootanimation.zip into the folder /data/local/, when I restart my device, I have only the part0 of the bootanimation.
Do you know what's happens and if there is a solution?
Thanks

I find the solution, there are two ".db" files in the filder part0 and part1,
to do it working, you have to delete these files.
Bye

Also make sure you give the boot animation full permissions after you move it to /system/media or /data/local.

fantastic, I've previusly the 9th bootanimation but it was a little slow....this one goes faster (as the gif you posted) thank you very much

not sure where but i did come across it many times.
Just instal Astro onto your device, and browse the root of the device and you will come across a BootAnimation.zip. Inside contains the png's for the animation.
the boot logo (non animated) is stored on splash1.
Here it is:

The animation is stored in /system/media/bootanimation.zip. Its a series of images in a zip file.
You can get it by using the command:
Code:
adb pull /system/media/bootanimation.zip C:/bootanimation.zip
system\media\bootanimation.zip
do a adb pull /system/media/bootanimation.zip xxx.zip and unzip.
You'll see the 2 sets of PNGs.

What are the permissions for bootanimation.zip if they were left open to non root then this may-b a way to get root with unlocking the bootloader. This would be the same approach that was used to root the behold 2 where the "try3" file was renamed to play_logo . play_logo then was used to root and after root was opened it would make play_logo_real play which was the boot animation. I may be wrong but couldnt this be a possibility. Thanks.
how is it possible to unlock splash1 and safe the old picture
and then flash a new one
Made an extremely simple quick bacon boot-"animation". Just a static bacon image, but looks kinda cool...

Might try to add some animation later...

[BOOT ANIMATION] Iwo Jima Flag Raising, goes good with Liberty Rom

Hey everyone, I just finished my first releasable boot animation. As the title suggests, it is an animation of the American flag being raised over mt suribachi on the Japanese island of Iwo Jima during WWII. Not only is this a full animation of it being raised, but you also have the option to have a sound in the background. I will be including my sound version with a clip from the song "Killing in the Name Of" by RATM. There is also a non sound version for those of you that want a stealthy boot up, say if you were in school.
both zips are flashable through cwm recovery
How To install them :
1. copy/move the bootanimtionwithsound.zip/bootanimationnosound.zip file to your SDcard
2. Reboot into CLOCKWORKMod Recovery
3. goto " Install Zip from SDCard "
4. goto " Choose Zip from SDcard "
5. goto where you have the animation zip file
6. highlight the animation you want and press the camera key
7. Install the Animation.
8. Press Back key.
9. then " Reboot system now "
If you want sound, but dont want the RATM sound, find a .mp3 file, edit it down to about 10 seconds of your favorite part, save it as Android_Audio.mp3; then extract the contents of the bootanimationwithsound.zip to your desktop and navigate through the folders data and local and replace the mp3 with yours, and then do the same for the system then media folder. Then highlight the things you extracted and right click add to archive. rename to what you want and then select .zip, then change the compression method to STORE and click ok/done/ what ever it is. then you can move it to you sdcard and use the above steps to install it. Have Fun!

Custom Boot Not Working (Black Screen)

So I can't get my custom boot animation to show. It's just a black screen when i reboot nothing more, I have done the 3rd line trick, I'm pretty sure my desc.txt is correct. I will upload my bootanimation.zip so people can hopefully correct me.
I have the Evo 3D running MIUI.
One more thing is when i copy over my bootanimation.zip to my phone no matter if its adb push or sdcard mount it never copys over the numbers in order. For instance i would copy over my bootanimation.zip and it would go in the order of 1,102,103,115 ect....
EDIT:I realized my files and my desc were not the same name so I changed that..Stupid mistake, I changed the compresion to store instead of normal, I made sure i had a third line using notepad++, and yet i still get a black screen...I think it might be because when i copy over my they don't stay in the order they were in origanlly. I will post a screen shot of this.

}
Lastly i added the newly updated bootanimation.zip that i tried fixing...
EDIT2:I finally got it to show up!! I think it may have been the pics per second were to fast. I had it at 13 originally and changed it to 5 that seemed to work as it shows now...The only problem im having is the files are still not in order as shown above.

make sure that when you compress the file to zip its set to "store" and the option is set to add and update files. Also make sure that you leave a blank line in the end of the desc.txt file.
(Note) if you have modified the files inside the archive then you have to compress the zip again with the same settings

[MOD] Boot Animation (CWM NOT REQ'D)

After having spent several days attempting to create a boot animation, I have finally had success. Attached is my first bootanimation of possibly many. First I want to say that all I did for this one was recolor lfaber's bootanimation in his SC_V5 Rom.
If anyone has any requests or ideas, I will be more than happy to create them!
Instructions:
Download attached file (bootanimation_sepia.zip) to SD Card
Using root explorer navigate to the sd card (/mnt/sdcard)
Copy downloaded file to: \system\media
*Optional, to make a backup copy the old one out to the sd card
Delete out the old bootanimation (bootanimation.zip)
Rename bootanimation_sepia.zip to bootanimation.zip
Reboot phone
Watch new pretty colors
If anyone has any problems, please let me know! I can provide a copy of Lfaber's original one if needed.
If anyone would like this as a flashable zip, I could try and do it, but will need tons of help from someone who knows how to do it.

you need root for changing your bootscreen with these files. once rooted, use a root browser to backup orginal files with .bak extension and then copy the new files into the folder and change permissions as stated in original post above.
