I think the cm7 thread is really confusing so i decided to make this thread.
Firtst of all I was using Cm9 aokp so ics based roms but in comparison with cm7 the battery life in ics is poor and i think cm7 is a bit smoother.

Proper guide for a clean install:
1.Dowload cm7 and gapps
2.Place cm7 and gapps on your sd card
3.Go into cwm recovery ( You need to use cwm by arco or twrp)

4.So when you have cwm by arco. Boot into cwm and make a nandroid backup just to be sure.
5.now go to mounts and storage and format system
6.wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
7.install cm7
8.wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
9.install gapps
10. wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
11. fix permissions
12. reboot and enjoy
TO GET THE VIDEO RECORDER WORKING use version cm7 fixed 2 to and follow instrutions in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26992126&postcount=624

For best performance and battery and lag free usage dowload antutu cpu master set governor to smartassV2, min freq 245 mhz, max freq 1400 mhz and I/O scheduler to sio
Then go to adw settings-> screen preferences -> set desktop scrolling speed at around 500 and desktop overshoot to 39
Also you can set the ammount of homescreen to 3. It may sounds weired but the wallaper scrolling is so the smoothest.
So now you have lag free smooth rom !

In adw settings go to UI settings and sett main dock style to 5 icons for ics style

for the ics lockscreen go to settings-> cyanogenmod-> Lockscreen-> style options -> lockscreen style -> ring
then scroll down to ring-lock-style-> holo style
then scroll down to minimal ring style and check it

After that go to CyanogenMod Settings again and scroll down to performance and uncheck dithering and check 16-bit transperency also check allow purging of assets.
If you're having problems disable 16-bit transperency .
Due to the fact that our devices has a amoled screen i would recommend using a black background this also saves battery.
To save even more battery dissable auto sync apps. They eat your battery.
Here's an app for profiling so you can sett a profile for day and night and it will automaticly turn on flight mode for example. very usefull there also a bunch of other settings.

So now you have the fastest most battery friendly ics looking rom availabel ! In my opinion !

yeah but look in the original cm7 development thread i didn't find a proper installation guide i just wanted to collect as many information as possible.
And how to get the best out of cm7! Because i think cm7 is much better than cm9 !

Of course for me it is a long batery life and smoothness the things that make a rom good. Nearly everything works so no reason why ics should be better. My opinion.

2.0 has working video recorder, 2.1 hasnt, but in 2.0 u have to reinstall su and fix small keyboard but its easy

I want to try it but dont want to repartition the sd, and install MTD ect....

When i flash v1 beta 4 i dont have the HTC widgets however when i flashed v1 beta 3 or beta 2 all the HTC widgets were there and idk why it was doing that when the widgets are there but they wont work or show in the selection menu. Is the beta 4 or beta 1 from the beta page??

I love sense because it can play adobe flash.
you can mod other version lite,remove all widget,rosie,.., use any laucher ( ex : laucher pro,adw laucher ), version play adobe flash and performance ??

Reboot in recovery
Partition SD card

Finally flash the zip and reboot the phone.
Now the ROM has been succesfully flashed!
If you notice lags and you think that the rom is not fast enough, please flash paolo's v6 touchfix kernel.

actually i have not enough time to make some screenshots....wait some minutes and flash the rom
you need gingerbread baseband installed.
Nice to see some real development work, not just a quick abandonware kitchen job like some other 'roms' we've seen lately...
If you could list the major differences between our stock P500 rom and the Optimus Net rom you have developed in the first post (you probably already plan to anyway) that would be great and probably save a bunch of questions later (probably not with some...)

i have not developed the rom....gianvolpe started the developement, then hecatae made gps, sensors, wifi (and maybe something other) working, finally i made camera working.
it is a stock 2.3.4 rom probably fully working and rooted.

No need to open new thread, if you fixed the camera with the opro libs you should put that on the original thread where gianvolpe and hecatae were doing the port

Maybe is because this isnt a cm9 port, is a AOSP port, is default ICS 4.0.3 experience like official ICS.

Oh man its aosp.aosp are meant to be like this without any added feature for the performance and smoothness
Hi everybody. I have been busy for a long time, but now I am finishing my things and start having some time. I am now working in CyanogenMod, which is, right now, the best android ROM. But there is a problem:
Miui - Very beautiful, but drains a lot of battery (v4 more than the gb one)
CM9 - Is still buggy. There are a few minor bugs, but the main problem is battery drain.
That's why I have choosed CM7 creating a rom similar to my cleanKpuRom (I didn't forget it. It is stopped but not finished) So u can deduce that my rom is soft, with a low battery drain, simple, with almost no added apps, but with the good part of CyanogenMod, which is the speed, bugfree etc...

- Some grafical things changed like bootanimation, wallpaper. I don't have a huge work here, because CM7 works like other, with themes, so theming is not the biggest aspect of the ROM.

Yes I know but ir is still buggy Nanda battery desinteresada is awful. Where is the practical difference between cm7 and cm9?

I am interested on init.d scrips, can you post here yours pls? My init.d folder is empty (guess because of upgrading in the past some buggy kernel...) so I'd like to try some good script for ram optimization.

I´m actually using Titanium Rom and I´m getting almost 2 days.
Are Bluetooth, wifi, tether and Gps working correctly?
Does it have the 14 toggle, because in the screenshots I haven´t seen it.

This is a CM rom. Battery life is not as good as stock roms one... I must add that Titanium Kernel saves a lot of battery, so I can't fight with that.
There are a lot of init.d scripts, download the rom (1.1 soon) and check them in etc.
14 toogles, as other theming things are not included in cyanogenmod because that aspect work with themes.

How about Battery compare to CM9
what about the battery drain compare to CM9.
What I have seen in CM9 is the battery drain during sleep Hours is so so so good, and I mean it, It is allmost 0-2 % in around 8-9 Hours of sleep.
But when the phone is in use like normal uses also such as music, browsing, normal gaming, messing with settings....etc, then the battery drain is very high.
And does HW acceleration is there in this ROM ??

Hi, me again,
Noticed that one of the messaging widgets doesn't display the correct information, as you can see the messages on the left widget are displayed correctly, but the othe widget one is full of angry faces and the other blank.
I don't use that widget so not a problem, just pointing it out.
Music and GPS seem good.
Noticed backlight keys don not work, downloaded keyboard backlight from the market to fix.

If its sense 4 keep everything as sense 4 .... Now there are too many 4.1sense rom theme as sense 5 which is ugly imho. Why can't we keep everything original. If they wanna change, let them flash add ons.

Because it´s the taste and the likes of the dev who gives his ROM to the Community, you don´t have to use it.
Cook your own ROM, and you will be much prouder if this runs on your device!

Yea, I get it. But not everyone knows how to cook their own rom. I'm just giving suggestions. Maybe most people here prefers original theme too... But some of us just dont have the knowledge to do it ourselves. I do appreciate the devs work here, they spend so much time perfecting their roms. Hope I don't offend anyone here. Btw, I'm still using sabsa prime because of the originality.
