Has anyone had problems with the new AOKP JB release (19th) version when using AT&T Visual voicemail, mine will not connect to voicemail and locks up when entering passcode? I am using the following:
AOKP JB Build (aug19th)
Gapps 7-29
Kernal: Instigators 6.2.1
Other than that, everyhting seems to work fine!!
This is a known issue with most current Jellybean ROMs, and it's not related to any kernel.
Thanks for your reply. I did not have this issue on CM10 Alpha2 but it had other issues so that is why I changed. Seem like you fix one thing you cause another two to happen......but I like it a lot better than GB or ICS. Hopefully there next build it will have voicemail issue fixed. Question: Do you know if this ROM allows for 4G LTE?
Phone: Skyrocket S2 i727
Rom: AOKP JB Build (aug19th)
Google: Gapps 7-29
Kernel: Instigators 6.2.1
CWM: v5.8.13

Fascinating, this fix works for me too. Just a guess, but I think the real issue was the proxy address or the string in the APN Type field. Or both. Or other things, who knows. Oh, I also changed the APN Protocol to IPv4/IPv6. Looks like a *known issue* is resolved!
Can you send me a screen shot of all your settings on this ...there are more than what you listed and I still cannot get it to work right. Your help would be appreciated!!
New issues with voicemail with sept 9th AOKP build
Any one having issues with AOKP Sept 9th build. When you try and play a voicemail it errors out saying it could not play.
Phone: Skyrocket S2 i727
Rom: AOKP JB Build (Sept9th)

Kernel: Instigators 6.3.4
Hi,
I've had issues receiving MMS messages and with Visual Voicemail. Upon verifying the settings, they matched what razorhog has posted; however, nothing worked.
I followed the instructions and created a new APN profile with NEW (but same) settings and MMS started working; however, VM is still displaying "Could not play message. Please try again later or call Voicemail."
I'm on CM9 nightly...

As promised.. here you go It was actually much simpler than I thought it would be.
NOTE: I've only tested this with BeastMOD II v2.0.. but in theory, it should work with any other ROM.
Pre-requisites:
a) Rooted
b) CWM Installed
1) Download your ROM of choice (T-Mobile Galaxy S2 ROMs ONLY!!!)
2) Download Conversion Package (attached)
3) Place both files on your Internal SD card
4) Reboot into CWM
5) **IMPORTANT** Make a Nandroid backup!!
6) Flash the ROM
7) Flash conversion package
8) Reboot and enjoy
After rebooting, you will need to manually add your APN.
For those of you with LTE access.. use the following APN settings:
Name: ATT pta
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: internet + mms
Click to collapse
For those of you who are interested, the conversion package is nothing more than the stock AT&T kernel and an edited gps.conf file (GPS was bugged with the T989 config)
KNOWN BUGS:
-There is no LTE icon in the status bar, I have no idea how to edit framework-res.apk.. I'll leave that to someone else
I'll wait for a legitamente Skyrocket rom...
this is looking really promising........
im thinking you can just edit the framework the PNGs from the stock rom and have the LTE up top.
i will be doing this very soon once i get more comffy editing the drawable.hdpi
I'm gonna look into this later tonight. Thanks!
One question: Those of us not in LTE areas, what do we use for the APN settings?

Same one. PTA us required for LTE so if you have this device you must have PTA and it works fine for H+, 3G and E.
At least my 3 devices working fine when in those areas other than being painfully slow after being spoiled by LTE speeds.
Well so far, so good. Install went without a hitch and just set the APN settings and rebooted. It did take a good amount of time to initially boot after the install so if you find yourself sitting at the Galaxy S II logo screen for a few mins, just let it continue.
One other minor issue is upon reboot after setting the APN settings, it shut down yet the soft keys were lit up and it wouldn't come back on. I had to tap the power key once to get it to finally reboot. Upon reboots, all my settings like wifi and google account info was gone - had to setup everything again. Hopefully just a fluke.
Overall this ROM looks great and I'll post any feedback in that thread. Thanks again OP!
what is the plus here. with the stock kernel.....does this just remove bloat and add a theme.
is it smoother, since 2 of you have it now...when yall get a chance a lil feed back on the running of the rom would be great
I installed Juggernaut v2.0 and all seems fine. When I clear the RAM in task manager it goes as low as 162mb which is by FAR lower than stock. Ran a speedtest and all is good (not in LTE market but go 7mbps down and 1.1mbps up)

Sprint VVM T.5.3.0.32
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original Post:
I didn't see this anywhere else yet, so I figured I'd post it.
I got notified of a VVM update today. Apparently it 'fixes minor issues and provides a better user experience.'
I just have to check and see if it works on ICS - that would be BRILLIANT!! (I doubt it, though)
EDIT: Nope, it doesn't work on ICS, but someone got the official ICS version here (thanks to moonzbabysh): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23752333

I was on the stock ROM when I got the notification. I'm pretty sure it'll work on any ROM where VVM has already been provisioned. MikRunny v1.0.0 is a 3.5 ROM where VVM works. You can find it here.

Have you been able to determine if this works with ICS-based roms?
Thanks for the post btw.
Flashed derpxl 3.5 ROM got update notice as soon as ROM booted up so I updated and yes it works! Not sure if its cuz the Android version is 2.3.3 and not 2.3.5, was running Radiance 6.1 with old vvm from a TB but received no update so I will try another 3.5 with 2.3.5 and see. Maybe its because vvm was built into derpxl...I don't know?

Do you have the option in Settings to allow installing from unknown sources checked? Is your device rooted? If so, you can move the APK over to /system/app manually.
Can anybody verify if this works with CM7 nightlies? Considering you can't install the old VM by itself and it work properly, you'd have to use the GApps+VM from Deck.

Yes, it works on CM7 nightlies. Installed on the latest CM7 nightly and it provisioned successfully on its own. I called and left a VM right after and it popped up in the app.
Just an FYI for anyone having trouble....
I had to take the -1 off the name of the apk posted in the OP (making it the exact same name as the apk already installed) and then it installed without issue.
It does install successfully with CyanogenMod 7.2 ROM, but I have been using Google Voice for a long time, and Google Voice does not seem to want to give up control over voicemail.

OP updated to new VVM version!

Sprint VVM
I just downloaded and installed over the older version. With all the trouble I've had with VVM, I never thought it would work! But it does! I'm running Team D.I.R.T. Remics with Mason.
I just noticed I cannot personalize the playback screen to have speaker on as default. No biggie, as I can manually click the speaker icon.
Just an fyi.

I will say that after I upgraded to the 4/23 build, my mms worked for like 5 minutes. After that I had to start it each time in the dev tools menu. I'm trying to find online anything that relates to mms just not starting. For some people, it's an issue with the apn settings, but for me and some others it's a problem with mms not starting.

What was found in CM9 thread is you need to flash the leak modem, and then the ROM/system again, then it retains the APN. I tried it on CM9 and is working great doing Waffle modem => flash CM9.

I've had t for less than a day but I do get the LTE signal in my house now when I used to have to drive a few streets away to get it. Speedtest results are the same as LD2 with LTE which were very good for me. Call clarity is better from what people I call are telling me. Others may have more to report as they use it more.

Yes, just flash it before you flash the rom. I'm on aokp b35.

+1
Flash modem, then flash ROM
Tried to flash it on NexusMod Zero ICS (UCLD2):
Wiped cache 3x
Wiped Dalvik 3x
Flashed radio 3x
Reboot, no signal, "Unknown" baseband, *#2263# pops me into a blank ServiceMode with no options.
Bummer! Ran Fix Permissions in ROM Manager, rebooted and still nothing.
Back to UCLD2 for me. Would rather wait for a full UCLE2 ROM than flash this radio before re-flashing my current ROM.

Flash your rom after flashing the radio, should work then.
Yeah, I half expect it to work, but see my last sentence.
Also, I'm on Rogers, and from what I hear it doesn't even work on Rogers? Maybe that was my real issue.

simply flash after a clean reboot?
What did flashing the kernel improve out of curiosity?
Did anyone have problems doing it without darkside? in my experience darkside has made things worse sometimes =\
I'm a noob, but I ran into a few problems. On the native kernel, the rotations were inverted, so I went to instagator's. Once I got that up, I tried bringing all my apps in (no data, just the apps themselves) via Titanium, and I'd get 3-4 apps at a time before it froze, so I just gave up, lol.
Backing out of SMS causes FC.
Ran it for a day and I liked it. When its less buggy I'd surely use it for a DD. I ran gingerbread miui for well over a year on the evo and infuse. It rocked back then. PreICS!

Almost exactly same here with the screen rotation. Downloaded a few apps via tb then it just quit. Now tb has disappeared but all app managers say it's installed?!!

Got the screen rotation bug too. For a temporary workaround just turn off automatic rotation.
Edit: BTW, awesome ROM Op. Never tried miui before, pretty cool!
