Non kexec kernels? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Do we have any non kexec kernelsfor TW besides imo's?

I don't believe there is...everyone's hit the non kexec train....there a better kernel IMO.they're overclock able many govners and vtage tweaks to b had...

So imo's leankernel for touchwiz is the only non kexec one for our phone? The stock kernel seems to out perform the leankernel v.22. Battery life and over all performance is better on stock kernel. I guess I just want more choices. I don't find any benefit in overclockibg either. The dual core 1.5 ghz is fast enough. Cleanrom makes it even faster.

Lol. No he means IMO as "In My Opinion". Imoseyon is a kexec kernel. Currently there is no non kexec kernels.
Edit: I believe that Ziggy's new kernel in the latest Synergy is non kexec but idk if it plays nice with other roms.

Huh? The first line says it's a kexec kernel??
Edit: Nvm. Didn't know he had a new kernel out. 0.1 is kexec and 0.2.2 is non kexec.

Its better than a plain black guide.... color coding is for visually indetifying with an association. The mind is a terrible thing, it doesnt respond to things with 0 stimulus.

Just ordered the Nexus S 4G

So I'm coming from the EVO after having a nexus one g1 g2 I know what stock Android can offer first thing im doing is rooting but I wanted to know what are some roms I should check out cm7 is already downloaded but I like to try new things

I personally use CM7 w/ matrix kernel. Very stable, great battery life... no complaints here. I was also on the stock de-odexed w/ netarchy's kernel and that was great as well, I just like the added features on CM7 personally
Yeah I think I might just stick with cm and try that kernel thanks

I prefer Netarchy's kernel. Use that with Proton Voltage Control to UV to save battery life.

No OC options?

I flashed the imoseyon repacked kernel, but voltage control reports an unsupported kernel. It was my understanding that this kernel allows over clocking to 1.4ghz, but I can seem to make it work. Anyone have an idea?

If you're already on GB, you may want to wait a bit for Team Gummy's GBE 2.0... it will have all the sweet tweaks and themes that 2.0 has minus the OC/UV kernel (unless that really really matters to you)
Not so much on the overclock, I still have some weird issues with ep1q like everyone else seems to though. Ee4 was very stable reliable.

AOSP - Kernel Suggestion

Is anyone using a custom kernel with CM10? If so, what is your experience and opinion?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I am currently using a Sprint kernel and not having any issues at all. Its the 747 kernel sorry I don't have a link handy but it works well lots of schedulers and governors to choose from
Does it support call recording?

I noticed that to switch kernels the OP of that post suggests that the user flash a stock kernel (which is at&t in his post). Would this work for us now that we are unlocked? Or do we need a Verizon version to restore wifi/blue tooth drivers?

I am not sure about the AT&T one as I have only used the Sprint version...but I have not had any issues with WiFi at all from just flashing the kernel...I have not tested Bluetooth mainly because my icon is ideas right now and I have yet to charge it

Have you suffered any wake lock issues on the Sprint kernel? Many of us on CM10 have been having this issue on both the stock CM kernel as well as Imo's. I would certainly give this kernel a shot if you haven't had that particular issue. Thanks!

ROM that supports shutdown animations?

I couldn't find a thread on this, If there is one forgive my ignorance.
I'm running Cyanogenmod 10 Nightlies with the stock kernel and while customizing my phone I wanted to change the boot/shutdown animations. It was easy changing the boot animations, but when I went to change the shutdown animation it wasn't so easy.
Every thread supplies a file and says "it's easy" they tell me to put the file /system/media/shutdown but I've tried that so many times today and it just doesn't work!! Lol I finally came to the conclusion the Cyanogenmod doesn't support shutdown animations (or maybe I really am doing something wrong)
In any event does anyone know any ROMS or kernels for our phone that support shutdown animations? I would love to have on (I even found one to match my boot animation!)
Those exist????

"Boot Animations work with any rom running a kernel that supports custom Boot Animations.
Shutdown Animations work on Eclipse 1.4 and 2.0, TweakStock 1.4, Tweaked 1.5 and 2.0 and InfinityROM"
I'm not entirely sure if we have any of those are on our phone, you would probably know better than I would

If my memory is functional, the above listed ROMS are Tweaked (TW) Stock ROMS, but still mainly stock..
What I DO know is that our CM 9/10 ROMS don't support shut down animations, I think it has something to with he kernel..
