I got my new Sensation today (yay!)
However after flashing I can only get GPRS data, no 3G or HDSPA.
The ROM I used is Virtuous Inquisition v3
The carrier is Orange UK.
Any suggestions?
Make sure there isn't a coincidental outage and check your APN, you might need to add one.

Good thoughts about a service outage, does another phone in the same location get 3G etc. ?
I've found that in a lot of the ICS Roms, you have to go to quick settings to enable Mobile Data. Maybe that has something to do with 3G?
In Chinese forum, somebody is talking about the new file list here. is it the latest OTA release?

we are all 5.5.1.1-90 already, but our 5.5.1.1-90 came from small OTA zip(base on the older ver), not full img. and this time it is full img.
i think this release is maybe a preparation for the next OTA. official news show that he 2.3.6 new update will be released in a few days.
and 4.0 maybe in months

So.. anyone flashed a CN or HK firmware on an AT&T Atrix 2 successfully?

I think AT&T FW has a bug with my country's carrier (Vinaphone, GPRS, ping not pass; 3G is ok)
I wouldn't recommend flashing the whole fxz, but you should be fine if you flash the system .img.

The firmware in this post is released for over 3 months. I'm using it already.
There is something new for ME865, Atrix 2 China Mainland version, recently. @司轩军, a PM at Motorola China, told us there will be a new OTA release for the device, and he is inviting people to help test the coming release. However, it seems that the OTA release is only available for two ME865 Chinese versions.
It is said the new release will adds some new features and bugfixes, includes call recording, camera and system stability improvements, and so on.
Here is an official post for inviting testers,

As much as I deeply appreciate the N5, my area didn't support the LTE for quite some time. I left the phone on my dressor for a month. I decided to activate recently and use it for a few days. I'm a big fan of Mahdi Rom....don't want to explore much of anything else. The problem is I wanted to test LTE activation for my area. I flashed stock and updated my PRL and Profile and got two bars with decent speed. Traveled a couple miles and it kept a decent signal.
I flashed back to Mahdi and was stuck in the 3G thing again. I flashed again back to stock and the LTE was available. Back to Mahdi.... you get the point.
What do stock have at this point that custom ROMS may not have? I really want to come back to N5 but I can't justify it without LTE. I know the towers were upgraded in my area with one last data change coming in June.
Please help.

You're probably on 4.4.2, which by default gets the .23 radio. The .23 radio isn't very good for LTE reception in my experience on Sprint but the .15 or .17 do way better at picking up signal and keeping it. I get at least 10 higher dBm on the .15.

Stock might not be that great on it's own for customization but add xposed framework and gravity box and it's like a custom Rom built on stock

I have this problem as well and have yet to find a solution.
I am on Sprint and at my desk at work I get 2 bars LTE, ~4Mbps download with the latest stock ROM and radio.
With any other ROM I get 2 bars 3G and ~360Kbps download speed. Furthermore, the signal drops entirely at random and reconnects a minute or 2 later.
Can anyone provide some insight? What do custom ROMs do so differently regarding the phone service that could cause this? I'm a tech savvy web developer so if I have to build a ROM myself that removes those changes I absolutely will. Just need some initial guidance.
Thanks.

I did! I was very excited when I came across that, hoping it would do the trick. But my phone was already set to "Global". I've switched back and forth, and on different ROMs, with no difference.
Possibly try using this---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51308741&postcount=276
Try backing up your APN settings from Sprint stock, flash your rom, flash the zip again, and restore settings.
When I was trying out MIUI, I had to do this for Sprint to get LTE working, so it might be worth a shot?

Would you say that you are getting signal similar to stock on your custom ROM now?
Also, do you think we have to do this with every new ROM flash? Mahdi is updated frequently so not sure if the settings will stick or not!

I know this was probably resolved months ago but I figured I would take a stab at it one last time. And I got some excellent solutions.

I've actually gotten my phone to receive LTE in places it did not before with any ROM, stock or otherwise, by further customizing my APN file. I broke incoming calls during the process but figured that out as well. However I'm without MMS now. I have the feeling that flashing my custom APNs with the stock ROM and running HFA would be going in the right direction so I'm going to do that now. I'll share my findings thus far later today.
Is it possible yet to flash different modems/basebands? I am using a G920I on AT&T and would like to flash the AT&T modem.
Same question here. I have a G920F and want to flash a modem. I have the AOD9 modem.bin and I assume I just flash it with ODIN with CP but I don't really want to go ahead and do it without knowing that I'm doing it right.

Funny cause I went to At&t and Verizon to check signal and there's are perfect.... I live in Alaska and most our towers are shared with At&t so the 920I should work on their network... But I can't recommend being the first to flash an att baseband on our phones.... Let me know if you end up trying it out... I was hoping my phone was just bad bit I've exchange 2 times already same **** reception
So you did notice a little better reception with the newer modem huh? The only thing I can think of is my S5 had LTE Cat 4 and this phone has LTE Cat 6 don't really know if that makes a difference... Probably not...

How did Odin report the reason of failure?
Have you tried other versions (not 920f)? If we can get back by flashing the original modem, I think it's worth trying. I know that 920F/T/I have the same baseband chip made by samsung.
I have a Sprint galaxy s6 edge unlocked and i use it for T-mobile. my LTE signal is so low at times. I was wondering if i could flash a T-mobile baseband and BL and just use tmobile roms?
Is there an update to this? Looking to flash AT&T modem on G920F. I have poor reception.
Hi everyone,
I just switched over to T-Mobile and the first thing I noticed is that my LGV20(VS995) was not properly connecting to the T-Mobile network, I tried every possible APN setting and the connection was always unstable. Sometimes I briefly got an 4G LTE signal but when I ran countless tests and the connection speeds were always below 10mbps.
I recently flashed the Lineage OS on my phone to check if it was possibly a Verizon firmware restriction and I found that as soon as the phone booted with the Lineage OS, the phone recognized the sim card as T-Mobile, and right off the bat, the phone connected to LG LTE. I ran network tests using Ookla's Speed Test apk, and now I get consistent speeds over 30mbps, highest being nearly 90mbps. (tests were done using same server and in the same area)
My question is,
is there some sort of network band restriction embedded in the Verizon firmware? and is there a workaround for this on stock Verizon firmware?

The LS997 is currently supported, however, this ROM is currently in its alpha stages. I've been using it daily and thus far it's stable.

Did you install the latest 7.1 gaps, ARM64bit?
When you go to the site select 7.1 gaps, ARM64bit (LGV20 runs on ARM64bit) & and stock. You have to install both back to back before booting up.
Do not wipe system prior to installation as lineage OS patches the system. only wipe data, cache, and dalvik.
Also in settings go to APN and check if what APN preset you have selected, the ROM comes with presets for all carriers.
Those are the 3 things that I can think of that would cause those issues.
Everything works fine for me besides the second screen at the top and Bluetooth. I haven't noticed anything else so far, I've had Lineage OS installed since 01/13.

As mentioned in OP, I tried a combination of APN settings, and yes, I tried to register the phone manually and auto.
When I registered the phone to T-Mobile LTE and the phone connects to LTE for a brief moment and goes back to switching from 3G and H+. And even when it's on "4G" the network speeds are unstable.
I noticed I wasn't the only one having this issue when switching networks from Verizon to Tmobile so I rooted the phone and installed the Not so Stock ROM and still had the same results, then I searched for a custom ROM and found Lineage OS (thank God) I installed it and right away after booting, the phone recognized the T-Mobile simcard; as apposed to stock, where it kept giving me a notification saying Verizon simcard not found even when registered to T-Mobile
if you install the US996 Rom its pretty much stock rom with LTE working. I would recommend it with the konvergence kernel because well thats really the only one I think that makes our phone boot with that rom.
When you buy a carrier branded phone it comes with certain bands activated for that network with the others disabled. While this is done at a software level, it is done on a partition and files not even remotely controlled by the ROM. Likely your bands are locked behind some level of encryption that you would need special software to unlock. IF it isn't hardware locked (which is highly unlikely since this is a global phone).
tl;dr If you want to use non-common LTE bands (2,4,etc) for other carriers you need that carrier's device or an actual unlocked device.
Actually this has been solved by installing ported firmware based on the international version of LGV20 or lineage OS. I have a constant 4G connection with MMS and calls properly functioning. Even though the verizon phones are global, at software level, certain bands/network settings are indeed restricted.
