The US AT&T download is for the Atrix 2 mb685. Don't we all have the mb865? Whats the difference? Typo?
The End.

This could be a very useful tool for other Atrix 2 users, as well as a useful mirror for the MB865 fkz.

I think the site has a mistake

MB865 and ME865 is just the same HW
MB865 can flash ME865's backup and runs OK.(maybe sth. different is the baseband)

Understood. But its not "me" anything. The download is "mb" and its "685" vs "865". I think this has happened before and its a typo. BAD one lol.
The End.

judged by the "EDISON", sure it for Atrix2
we are all 5.5.1.1-90 already, but our 5.5.1.1-90 came from small OTA zip(base on the older ver), not full img. and this time it is full img.
i think this release is maybe a preparation for the next OTA. official news show that he 2.3.6 new update will be released in a few days.
and 4.0 maybe in months

@sugwacee
Where is the official news? Thanks for clearing the download, up ;-)
The End.

So.. anyone flashed a CN or HK firmware on an AT&T Atrix 2 successfully?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612852
I think AT&T FW has a bug with my country's carrier (Vinaphone, GPRS, ping not pass; 3G is ok)

I wouldn't recommend flashing the whole fxz, but you should be fine if you flash the system .img.

The firmware in this post is released for over 3 months. I'm using it already.
There is something new for ME865, Atrix 2 China Mainland version, recently. @司轩军, a PM at Motorola China, told us there will be a new OTA release for the device, and he is inviting people to help test the coming release. However, it seems that the OTA release is only available for two ME865 Chinese versions.
It is said the new release will adds some new features and bugfixes, includes call recording, camera and system stability improvements, and so on.
Here is an official post for inviting testers,

update for ME865

hi everybody,
received an update this morning for the ME865 for the 2.3.6 version. the system update was around 35 MB. strangely there were no release notes. or i couldn't find any. however it says now it's the 55.90.11.ME856.retail.en.05.
if somebody has any info about what it fixed, would be appreciate.

Nope, this is a completely different update for one of the international versions of the Atrix 2, ME865. That link is for the USA update for AT&T MB865.
TheAdlaBerlin: Without inspecting the update itself, we can only speculate about what it may contain- though I would guess they're using a similar codebase for the MB865 and ME865.

hmm, i guess you're right. logically since the [email protected] just got their 2.3.6 update finally, i also suppose the ME update contains smaller bugfixes that are probably included in the big one for the [email protected] i did not notice any new apps and since the unbranded ME comes without any extra apps except the standard stuff, i guess must be some bugfixes. when i clicked on the release notes, it just transferred me to the Motorola homepage where i can choose my region on the world map.
Sent from my ME865 using XDA App
For giggles, you could try "fastboot oem unlock" to see if the new release has an unlocked bootloader (very unlikely )
about the changes
The baseband has been upgraded to the latest version 2011-12-05 in which the EDGE problems has been fixed.
BTW, the carrier name will be displayed in the notification area.
It seems that the ME865 got this update nearly a month ago, why your ME865 received it this morning?
This time the update is for AT&T's MB865, but I found nothing new except what yinzhili mentioned on ME865.
i dunno, bought it 2 weeks ago. did regular system update check. told me i am up to date and this morning it just popped up. well its working though and yeah edge connections are better now as you guys said.

Flash to yakju and get updates straight from Google. Yakjxxx versions are region specific builds which rely on Samsung to deliver the updates. Take 10 minutes and flash to yakju and get jellybean as soon as you turn on the phone. Keep in mind this does not require you to root your phone and you are still installing official software made by Google.

This is pretty good.. flashed on searet from India.. no bugs so far but just a couple of force closes which happened just once.. what you need to watch out for is that there is no root for this as of now(or at least I didn't find one so far).. some say can't downgrade back to ICS.. haven't tested that yet.. overall worth it..

Right.. but beans was talking about a full ROM not just firmware. this way you can flash a stock version with the features that were released with the MF1, not just the radio update that any rom can use.

Compared to Thai rom, I dunno... Never used Thai. But compared to BMG9, I've noticed the following...
1 Battery Drain
Seems worse. I've had my phone off charge for 2hrs this morning, lost only 4% battery, but screen only on for 4mins. Android OS eating 43%... But ROM may still be "settling in" (I'm not even sure if this happens in reality, but I've read something along those lines before).
2. Camera appears to open faster
3. Overall the general responsiveness of the ROM feels to be improved.
4. The auto-brightness curve appears to have changed. It is much improved on my phone, think the sensor is functioning better
Can't comment on too much more at this stage. I'd be interested to see if someone can verify my findings...
