So I recently received my new replacement infuse (under warranty) with gingerbread 2.3.6 already installed. I like to try to make my battery last as long as possible so I installed juice defender which will disable my hspa when my phone in is idle. However, I started to notice a problem. When I turn on my phone to use, my hspa will not active. So I thought the app is the problem and uninstalled it so my hspa will active. This was not the case. Still, with juice defender not installed, my data will not active. I have tried powering my phone off then restarting it, pulling the battery, and even pulling my sim card, and turning on air plane mode then turning it off, but nothing will work. What should I try next?

Easiest thing to try first is wipe data, cache, and dalvik and re-flash your rom.
Right now on this infuse, I am not rooted, therefore no custom rom. Just simple stock gingerbread.
Are you suggesting a factory reset?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Yes, that should work.
Just out of curiosity, what causes my data to deactivate? I did do a factory reset and my hspa is now working. But for the future, what should I do so this doesn't happen again?

I don't have a textbook answer. I am sure Juice Defender is a good ap but I tend to avoid aps like that and do not ever use a task killer. A lot of it is just trial and error. You are on the right track because you want to learn... your own unique experience will be a great teacher. Regards

I noticed similar issues with JD back in 2011. One of the reasons I stopped using it.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
My guess would be that whatever juice defender did would have to be undone before it was uninstalled.
1) factory reset
2) don't install juice defender
3) root phone
4) flash JellyBean ROM
Oh.. and make sure you follow directions in the original post

I use the widget to turn data off while not using phone to save battery but it never disables data when it says mobile data off. Anyone know how to because I want my battery life to last longer.
Thanks

Search is your friend. As this is an APP, you might find info in the Apps thread...

To save time, its a known issue after the update. Developer is working on a fix... but don't hold your breath.
But it was a QUESTION ****. Back off, people are getting ruder everyday in this forum.

my friends unit phone is on 2.2.1 rooted, he said someone tried to put gb on for him and failed...long story short, when he puts apps to his homescreens and powers off, they are gone and only in the app tray. he cant get anything to stick to homescreens..

thanks
Tell him to try this:

Or he can try doing a factory reset in the privacy menu in setting s that worked for me.

Little nebulous man... Was this an app?
Is it still doing it?
A screenie of battery usage would help.
The more info the better.

Indeed. You need to run Watchdog or something similar to find out which app or process is gobbling up your CPU/battery consumption. More info you give, the more the community can try to help...

Weird man. Never heard of it.
However what you can do is isolate when it happens.
Is it there on boot up?
When did it start?
What had you previously installed when it started?
Start with the latest app you installed, and start freezing/deleting apps until the process stops. I can almost guarantee you its an app you have installed. just got to figure out which one it is. Let us know what you find!

For now it disappeared after a full charge but I think I know what app it could have been. A app call data switcher to enable or disable my mobile data to save battery so I don't know why it would use so much?
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
I have had it appear a few times with a little usage. if you tap on it I think it has something to do with the sim card, so you could try a new one if this keeps happening.
It mentions the dialer and sim toolkit and. Com.Motorola.phoneaddons

com.motorola.phoneaddons is an .apk that the phone uses.

The rild, if I'm not mistaken, is the radio layer or telephony interface/stack. What system version are you on, 2.3.5 or 2.3.6? Rooted, rom, etc?
rild includes the following packages: (?)
Sim Toolkit
com.motorola.phoneaddons
com.motorola.hiddenmenu
ConnMO
Programming Menu
Phone
Dialer Storage
com.motorola.setupwizard.phoneservice
Orientation Notifier
Have you tried factory reset and run stock 2.3.6 (no apps) and see if you're still having the same battery consumption?
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
I'm running stock 2.3.6 because im waiting for ICS instead of rooting and because of fear of bricking
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
This exact thing happened to me, same process...
What were you doing all day on your device when it started to happen?
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
Well it's an app, thats for sure. Could it be an antivirus program you use? And this is it's realtime protection that constantly runs in the background or something like that?

I had this same issue with my new Atrix 2 (running 2.3.6 and rooted). RXNDRV seems to be related to a service named "Rx Networks PGPS Seed Downloader", which per their website seems to be an app that downloads A-GPS data weekly. For some reason it's chewing up a ton of CPU time on my phone and using more battery than any other application. I disabled it and the battery issues went away.
i use a app called apptraffic free. it monitors wifi and mobile seperately. its helped me when i had a rouge app taking over.
Me too. Atrix. Sigh.
Atrix, brand new w/ AT&T, NOT rooted. Android 2.3.6
All you have to do is google "RxNDrv" and you come up with Atrix users.
It is not regular. My phone might be fine for a couple days, then one day RxNDrv will go for a drive and kill my battery in a matter of hours, and do that every day... then stop. It's. Really. Aggravating.
RxNDrv is a driver related to the gps function along TIDrv

my phone has started doing something crazy today, whenever i talk on it, the radio drops after a minute, and dont come back untill i turn airplane mode off and on or reboot. it only happens if i talk on it. i have changed nothing, except flashing mrom yesterday, i did a full wipe and restored my cm9 backup, and it still does it, has anyone else ever had or even heard of this problem? is my phone just crapping out? i have posted this in my device forum with no answers and even talked to verizon tech, they just had me do factory reset... any help would be greatly appreciated, as i don't want to have to fork over cash for a new phone...

Hi, I have 2 problems which I cannot find the answer on XDA.
First, I have 2 unlock screens for CM7.
I have the slider lock, which then go to the pattern lock.
I only want the pattern lock.
Second, I have the old android market, not the new one I had before I flashed CM7. Is there a difference?
Anytime I download a new app, it says "Packaged file not signed correctly cannot complete" or something along those lines. I searched how to fix this and it said to use Titanium backup to uninstall the app in question and reinstall. Well.... I don't have facebook installed and it says cannot complete. Any suggestions? Maybe try a new Gapp?
Can anyone link me to a better Gapp than the 2.3.7 Gapp on Goo.im
when you originally flashed cm7 did it take you through the Google account setup? Where it asks for your gmail account and it syncs all your info? I had a similar problem when i first flashed cm7 but i didn't have the market or playstore installed AT ALL lol. I would recommend deleting the gapps and downloading a fresh one. Do a complete wipe in cwm and reflash everything in this order.
1.rom.
2. Kernel if you want, recommend mazouts latest oc kernel runs great.
3. Baseband fix zip file.
4. Gapps.
This should fix the issue.

Go to settings, open cyanogenmod settings, then unlock options, then tap "skip on security" to fix your lock screen problem. As for the play store, the thing the other person said should work.

do you know the optimal overclock range? I tried 1500~1500 and my phone overheated and shut off

Yeah no **** it shut off lol. Don't mess with the OC unless you read some tutorials on it. I keep mine at max- 1015 min-216. I don't even mess with it very much because I dont want to fry my phone.

Lol. Ok and also does your phone ever overheat? i have the extended battery thing you know and my phone keeps freezing then going to the LG screen and just staying there occasionally. prolly every few hours it does that and i have to take the battery out
The only problem i experience over heating issues is when I'm using wifi calling over a crappy wifi connection. For some reason when it loses connection while its asleep, the phone falls into a sleep of death or SOD. so when i press the power button nothing happens, screen wont turn on the phone starts to heat up ans drain the battery like no other. I have to remove battery and reboot phone to fix. Does not happen often and only when using wifi calling over a crappy network

What extended battery thing u talking about? Like a bigger battery pack?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
okay I've been experiencing the sod as well lol. went from80% to 67 in 5 minutes. yes my battery pack is 3500 mah as opposed to 1700 I think is standard
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Not even pretty sure mine is 1500 lol. Make sure u don't have a lot of apps running in the background. Check cached processes as well....if i let a bunch of apps build up it can trigger a sod for me. Also if I'm connected to an unstable or weak wifi network
