Juice defender? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I use the widget to turn data off while not using phone to save battery but it never disables data when it says mobile data off. Anyone know how to because I want my battery life to last longer.
Thanks

Search is your friend. As this is an APP, you might find info in the Apps thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183887
To save time, its a known issue after the update. Developer is working on a fix... but don't hold your breath.

But it was a QUESTION ****. Back off, people are getting ruder everyday in this forum.

Juice Defender

How many people are using Juice Defender and if so does it help save battery life that much?

Using it here and I believe it works.

seems to work
Do you have any particular settings that you suggest?

I use Juice Defender and I normally around 13 hours or so after I charge it and it last well into the next day unless I heavily use my phone and I still around 8-10 hours doing that. I normally leave it on the basic settings to get the most out of it, but lately I had to change the settings to let Slacker Radio play without it cutting off after every song. Otherwise a very good app and must have.

Save battery by turning On

This may be
Old news
But they say
Turning On USB debugging actually saves juice, that's right turning it ON.

How so? Not trolling. LOL. I really would like to know.

Don't worry if you sit beside me, you will look like a troll.
Kidding aside I read this and 11 comments were " yes I tried it and it improve the battery ", but me personally I don't know, here is the explanation from guy who said it, I will not argue with him because I haven't tested it. :
"If u turn the usb debugging off, the /init process run at background will be more than 70%. This will kill your battery life and also make your device lag. Turning it on will save juice on your battery."
I have no idea what he means.

Wait so leaving debugging on will turn off a specific background process which in turn increases battery life? Sounds backwards.

This was for the HTC desire. searching that model and "save battery" will probably turn up the relevant issue. I don't know if it was a real bug in the software or just the usual "here's how to save your battery" trolling for google hits on some site...
But in any case, it should not apply to this phone.

Juice Defender

Is it worth it?
I use the free version and swear by it. I have exceptional battery life when using Juice defender. I have gone 16/17 hours before without needing to charge with moderate phone use. The only difference between the free and the charge version is that on the pay version you can create your own profiles. I just use the standard profile and it is awesome. Download the free version and give it a try.
Totally worth it.

thanks, I'll ive t a try. I read some palces it does mroe harm than good
How does turning the data off, then turning it on every 15 minutes do more harm than good?
I use it if I'm in a 4G area or really trying to stretch the battery out. It does work wonders!
I use the free version and notice the gains. usually see about a twenty percent gain
Absolutely, although I have a strange issue with the service getting killed since I got the G2x, still love the app though. I have UltimateJuice btw
i bought the ultimate version and i never know how to do the settings so i ended up giving up on it.. and just manually turn wifi off and 2g on when i stop using the phone >_>

I installed the free version and it unstablized my phone. There are some Wifi apps that will turn off your wifi, when you leave your home automatically. Search WOOFI in marketplace. Or Auto Wifi Enabler.
Ya I had issues with reboots and instability while using the free version, it would also cause GPS to shut off and I would need a reboot to get it back. Just as easy to toggle it my self.

I uninstalled also. I was having issues receiving POP email in a timely manner. I had it set to check every half hour but sometimes four or five hours would go by then a ton of emails would flood in. I am going to spring for the next step up because you have more control over individual apps and how they connect. I will post back with results.
for those saying it works wonders are you saying this as someone who keeps wifi and gps on all the time? wifi crunches the battery so if all this does is periodically turn it on and off it's not going to do much for me. i only turn it on when i need it.

[Q] how to prolong battery life?

im running kg6 icbinb but i feel like im using it too much, i use it for music, work out for like an hour and text heavily and facebook and youtube... i tried juice defender but it made me loose my connection most of the time...
Juice defender turns off your data connections when the screen turns off, so that's probably what is happening. The paid version lets you maintain connections with specific apps you choose, but you may want to try other battery saver programs to see if there is a free one with app control.
Alright lol thanks man!!

Set your apps to update manually. Automatic screen brightness. proper battery calibration. Will all help too

Data off while screen off?

Is there an app or setting that is in the hidden menu so that while the screen is off data is off... I know they have the setting for wifi but I'm hardly around wifi except at home, and I'm hardly ever home... which is why I would like to save as much battery as possible.

JuiceDefender does not work well with any stock based rom like Weapon. For stock based rom you have to use the new beta version.

Will try later, I have juice defender before but it was just a nuisance and didn't see any real change. Maybe I'll look into it some more, thanks.

Tasker can do it easily. There's really no reason to ever use Juice Defender, Tasker can do everything it can do and so much more.

Tasker is a great app but some people don't use paid apps and juice defender can do what the OP needed in the free app.. But if you don't mind the $6 and some change its a great app
