On built in browser - display turns off
((((
Sounds like a bug. Could try factory reset to be sure.
Or get tasker and set a profile to disable screen timeout when running browser

Sounds like a bug to me as well. Stock browser is wonky like that. I only use Chrome.

Hello. I am Now on leedroid rom. I loved in cyanogen the notification power widget, most of all the flashlight. I could have strobe, but the best thing was its brightness. With root access I could get 3x more light then any other normal application. I had no power problems...no flickering, no crashes.
I found the application nexus torch, on the market, which looks just like the torch app on cyanogen same interface. It's as bright, but doesn't work on my phone. Extra brightness flicker, display goes off...cannot use at all. But I am pretty sure it is tue same app built in cyanogen.
Is there a way to get that powerful brightness working on leedroid?

Well, can't you just use the Torch app from Cyanogen? I would think that would work.
Ok but which app was that? I am afraid the app would only work on cyanogen. The only app I found similar to that one is nexus torch, which doesn't work.

I found a thread about the cyanogen torch app...downloaded the .apk. At the moment I am with MIUI which has an application that when opened displays a black flashlight with a red switch. That uses only ONE led !!
The torch I am speaking about had the option to strobe, and not only it used two LEDS...it used much more power ... "death ray" (just like the Nexus Torch application which is somehow not compatible, although it really looks like the same ?!).
Try Extended Controls
May be in pull down..as a lightning bolt
I've a possible problem with the P6810. When rotating the screen from portrait to landscape or vice versa while in an application such as youtube or web browsing, what ever is being presented on the screen is reset.
What I mean is this; say you are streaming something from youtube, as soon as you rotate the screen, the video restarts from the beginning. Same with audio or websites. If I'm browsing, a rotation in screen orientation will cause the web page to refresh. It becomes quite annoying.
This is not behavior I'm familiar with on other devices so I need to know from others with the Tab 7.7 whether or not this is normal as I don't think it is. I've reset the tablet and I've used several different launchers with no change. I'm starting to believe I may have a hardware problem.
I too have this screen rotation problem when browsing
I too am having this screen rotation problem and have not yet found a solution. In all broswers that I have used (stock, Firefox beta, Dolphin HD, Opera Mobile), when I rotate the screen while browsing, it resets. The page I was browsing goes away (actually all pages loaded up on the tabs go away as well) and it returns me to home screen.
Any insights into fixing this are appreciated.
I too have noticed this with YouTube and also noticed it with wallpapers. It is very annoying when the wallpaper has to be refreshed everytime the screen rotates
Fogot to mention that my tab is the P6800 not the wifi version

So three not working properly... anyone have one which doesn't exhibit this behavior?
I have not seen this occur on several phones including my current galaxy nexus or on previous ASUS tablets. I see it as a potential defect unless anyone can show otherwise.

+1 for "not working"
I haven't seen this as a defect as much as a bug. I'm guessing we're all on the same build and Samsung just need to fix it (hopefully with ICS and soon plz!)
I'm on the LA2 build myself, imported from Panamoz, built in Taiwan.
I like my homescreen to stay in portrait, and so this bug also immediately crashes some full screen games that are landscape only when I load them from my homescreen. I have to load an auto-rotate app (like the browser), switch to landscape, then multi-task into the game...its a pain.
I hope it's something in their implementation of HC but since I've not seen a device act like this on any previous incarnations of Android on multiple hardware platforms it has me a bit worried. Wonder if someone with a legit device can put a call into Samsung to see what's up or even if US support knows what the device is since Verizon is now selling them.

Very strange thing, I turn on animation, and everithing is work fine :-| I update Youtube and Opera (new versions was on market ), may be you should do that to, plus reboot your device.

Youtube in a browser works as expected now that the browser is not refreshing, however what I'm talking about is video streaming from within the youtube app. Everything is up to date and I did a reboot after changing the setting.

Screen not rotating on SGT7.7
I work at verizon and today this issue was driving me crazy for 22mins. After power cycling the device (twice) and checking the rotate box then unchecking it several times to no avail, I was left with two options: 1.Hard Reset, which i wasn't going to do, or 2. Calling samsung, the sammy rep instructed me to hard reset. Man she was really no help at all so i tried one last thing I horizontally re-calibrated the device and it worked just fine so far only resolution.
Before I updated to the minor 4.2.2 update (something like 12.15.15), I could launch the camera app without waking my phone by just twisting (like what we see on the moto x commercial) the phone. After the update, I had to wake my phone up to use the twist gesture. Anyone having this issue?
A side note, my active display sometimes failed me in the middle of the night.
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app
I have not had any issues with the twist to launch camera from sleep, I use it a lot.
When active display failed, did it cause a Force Close? it may have been a one time issue, if it reoccurs you could try clearing the cache for the active display app in Settings -> Manage Applications, or even your device cache (there is a guide on how to do this floating around here somewhere).

Are you using an app like lock screen policy to disable lock screen widgets?

Yup that was the issue, thanks. Disabled the camera also disabled that feature.

Ok so the camera issue is solved. But I found out I have some minor issues with the proximity sensor. Sometimes the active notification will not work when I moved the phone and it automatically sleeps (locks) when I use the phone. Lastly after making a call, the screen will not wake up and waking it via power button is ok. So my guess is that the proximity sensor issue, however rebooting the phone seems to solve the issue for a day or two.

Moto G is my first Motorola phone ever, so I don't know if this is normal.
When I have the YouTube app open and the video paused, the screen never turns off.... even after 10, 20, or 30 minutes.
On my other phones, such as the Samsung Note 3, HTC One and iPhone 4, the screen turns off after 30 seconds
(if that's what i chose in the "Display" setting).
With video paused in the Netflix player or MX player, the screen turns off after 30 seconds. It's only when the video is paused in the YouTube app.
I looked into the Moto G's display settings, but still couldn't figure out why it's not turning off with YouTube video paused
like the other phones.
Thanks!
noboy has experience this "problem" ?
Don't have this problem with my Youtube app.
Have you tried it with Chrome or another browser? Edit: Ah, nevermind. Just read that you tried it in the Netflix player.

I didn't think to try YouTube in a browser.
I opened up Chrome app and wen to YouTube. After the video starts playing for a few seconds, I hit the pause button. 30 seconds later, the screen will turn off.
So I guess the problem is the the YouTube app. Just tried the same video using the YouTube app... the screen would not turn off with the video paused at all.
I first discovered this "problem" when I was watching a YouTube video on YouTube app and had to leave the office. I hit pause and left the Moto G on my desk. When I came back about an hour later, the screen was still on. It can't be good for any LCD screen to display a static image like that.(or for battery life)
Why would you just leave it paused over a period of time?

see my post above(#4). When I was playing the video, someone called me, so I paused the video in the YouTube app. It was an emergency and I just ran out of the office. Obviously I wasn't about to stop and turn off my phone.
I just conducted another test... I left a video playing. It was 10 minutes long... after the video completely finished playing, the YouTube app also prevented the Moto G's screen from turning off. Basically the screen won't turn off whenever the YouTube app is open. (with or without video playing)
Not really sure what the problem is, but it does not occur on my Note 2, Note 3, or HTC One.
Hey
Just posting here in case anyone else is having this problem and has found a solution.
The problem is that once I set a youtube video into full screen, I cant get the video player controls to appear again when tapping the screen, meaning I can't seek or pause the video unless I press back to get to the small player. This only happens on my note 12.2 and not on my other devices running the same youtube version (nexus 5 and 7).
I have rooted and flashed the near stock rom from Gatsrom and am using CivZ kernel rev3.0
Uninstalling updates to the youtube app does fix the problem though, so it looks like it might be a problem specific to the note with the latest youtube, so I was wondering if anyone else has hit on this same glitch?
This happens on CivZ rom too, with CivZ kernel or stock kernel. Probably a YouTube glitch.
I am stock non rooted and it's happening to me too..Has to be a YT issue.

The Youtube app isn't adapted to work with screensizes above 11" yet. That's why.
Essentially what happens is the app is stretched and the HUD bugs out because of it.
Must be a regression in the newest version of the app then, since it used to work fine. I've sent feedback to Google regarding this via the youtube app.
Thanks for chiming in everyone!

Same problem here.
It's really irritating! When i enter the Youtube app from a link (in chrome) and then hit the full screen button, and then i want to pause the video, i need to hit the back button but that's immediately takes me back to last app (chrome).
i found out that if I want it to stay in Youtube app, i need to: press the link (in chrome or gmail app), lower the minimized video to the right bottom side of the screen, then enlarge the screen again, after all that i can hit the full screen button and if i want to pause i can hit the back button and it will not exit the app.
Oddly enough the interface can be forced to show up in full-screen mode using the play/pause media controls command. For example if one clicks the button on a pair of headphones with a play/pause button while in full-screen mode then the video will pause and controls show up on screen. As soon as the controls fade away due to the standard interface delay they cannot be brought back by screen touch gestures but the headphones button will bring them back.
Since I'm rooted and use tons of customizations, I've set up a custom gesture in GMD gesture control to invoke the media play/pause command as a work around to this issue in YouTube until it's fixed. I now simply tap and hold 5 fingers on the screen while YouTube is playing full-screen and the video pauses and Youtube displays the player interface.

I confirm that the problem is solved with version 6. You can get it from here as I did if you don't want to wait to roll out to your country's play store.
