Use At&t WiFi hotspots on custom roms - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi guys,

What Rom are you running?

On cleanrom4.5 you just need yo flash the att stock 4g and wifi hotspots hack mods in the cleanmods zip from recovery and you're good to go.
Also questions belongs in the q and a section.

Wait so it will not work with the generic icons? That is a shame, because the generic icons allow saving of phone numbers to default to Google not the phone. To me this is more valuable than att hot spot. They make me pay for a 3gb LTE plan without offering LTE in my area, I never exceed 1/2 gb on a given month.

Try the wifi tether app available for download on Google code. Set its setting to generic ICS and it'll still let you tether just not through the wifi hotspot app

Wow I'm so sorry! I re-read your OP and realized you're asking something completely different than what I answered.
Try downloading the my Att app or some other att wifi hotspots app that I can't remember the name of right now. Ill have to get back to you tomorrow about the name exactly.

No Connection After Root

I rooted using attn's method and after everything was done I can't connect to the internet, and I there is no E, G or H+ next to my service. I am still on the stock downgraded ROM so I'm thinking that could be the problem.

Sorry, bro I'm a derp haha

May get a GS3 cause I'm crazy. Couple questions though

I may get a GS3 but only if I can do a couple things ...maybe one thing. Can we remove the annoying, persistent WiFi notification in a stock ROM that's rooted and clockworked? Thank you!

Yea. I'm running Beans latest ROM n I don't get that notification
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
There is also a dialer code you can type in that will give you the option to turn it off.
Why would you need to be crazy to get a GS3?
Edit: IIRC it still shows up in the same spot after the code, but it shuts up about saying you should use Wifi and such
(been a while since stock, my bad)

I've read of some XML edits that can remove it but it'd need to be stock. I run stock, rooted so it'd need to be removable from the stock ROM. I wouldn't wanna see it in my notification bar or the pull down. And crazy cause I've had about a dozen phones in a year. I have a problem.

Yes, I'm also stock and rooted and i removed it, as well as that stupid popup about known networks in range.

[Q] Roaming help for CM 10.1 Flash PLEASE!!

I flashed CM 10.1 and got some errors about network connectivity, so decided to just go back to my backup of a rooted stock image. Afterwards i still see that i dont have network connectivity, and i am now roaming. I Saw some guides saying to flash back to a stock image. But can i do that with an OTA JB version already? and ive read about just "reprovision my phone", will it work even with the rooted stock image?
Thanks
and my IMEI is still in tact

One is change CDMA subscription type to ruin/sim

Have you checked your subscription type on what ever ROM you are on. Also the best method is to Odin root66 and disk the repro vision code

I am on the stock OTA JB from verizon at the moment, and ive tried to do the root 66 and the one i downloaded from doesnt have the .tar.md5 file in it: its was from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762204
and im not exactly sure by what you mean subscription type, and can i just do the reprovision code if im just OTA JB with just root?
Under mobile settings there is an option for CDMA subscription type it must be rui/sim, nit sure if it's on stock though.
Also the repro vision code doesn't work on jb that's why you must go back to root66

You can lose that no matter what you flash. That's why all ROMs say to back it up before flashing.

Google how to change update schedule for your phone model, there is a lot of sites with your info. In past it was used to manipulate update settings. Also if you are rooted then use app like titanium to freeze or remove update module. I personally would remove it as oem updates are garbage IMO .

I don't see any solution myself. What's happening with your phone is not normal. There's something wrong. The only way to fix it would be to ruu or clean flash a rom if you are bootloader unlocked.

Use titanium backup and freeze the OTA updater. Not sure what its called. My mother in law just got a One X, so I'm browsing these forums.
