Currently using a kexec rom (Bean's Stock 8). How would I go to non-kexec? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Title basically says it all. I'm using Bean's Stock 8 right now, and now that the bootloader is unlocked, how exactly do I switch to something like the latest release of CM10? Thanks much, guys.

Flash what roms in cwr? Kexec or not?

alright guys i want to flash beans build 8 but it says to use ez recovery with kexec. can i flash in cwr 6.0.0.8 since i have unlocked bootloader now or do we have to wait for roms to start being built for unlocked bootloaders?
My understanding is that Bean build 8 uses kexec so you need to use 6.0.1 cwm recovery. Once the roms are made for the unlocked non- kexec, you can use the regular cwm recovery and rom. Again this my understanding, please feel free to correct me.

CleanROM Question

I would like to flash to the CleanROM 2.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832070
But it says it's based on G7.
My current baseband for my GS3 is the VRALHE.
Can I still use it?
I know there is another CleanROM Ultra Lite, but I would like to aroma features.
Yes you can do that. No problem.
Your modem and RPM will still be HE, but kernel and system will be G7.

Which ROM would you pick?
Synergy, Clean, or Bean

I've only used CR of those three but am a happy camper and have no reason to switch.
Using CleanROM and I think this is better.
Less crap to deal with.
I like the clean-ness lol
I use cleanrom 2.1 soley for the kernel and love it. I will upgrade to 2.5 once the source code is released so cleankernel can be updated to work with it correctly.
Ive pretty much have tried every rom and kernel for this phone and always comeback to cleanrom if that helps you to choose. Its pretty much personal preference so try all of em. Just make sure if the rom comes with a kernel to flash back a stock kernel if the next rom isnt compatiable with it.

I throw a vote in for CleanROM as well, works flawlessly. I have had no reboots, problems, etc.
Also its easy to throw on add-ons. Superfast.

Yes. I'm using it with all HE based firmware/kernel/radio. Once you flash CleanROM 2.5 it will install the G7 kernel. I went ahead and flashed the HE kernel back afterwards, and it's been running great for me. Not everyone has the same results, so you may want to keep some nandroid backups of various combinations until you find one you are happy with.
I've tried most of the current ROMs out there, and of the 3, I like CleanRom. However, my fav right now is Liquidsmooth.

[Q] [4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10

Hello guys!
Just installed 4.1.2 on my Samsung SII and just love it, so it's time for my TF300T to get the update to.
After some searching i found that [OFFICIAL][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 Nightlies is the only on out there, or am I wrong?
Problem is I belive I am on JB bootloader. When I got my Asus I updated ICS stock to JB via OTA when I got the prompt, after that I unlocked the device, rooted it and installed TWRP and now running CleanROM 2.5 with CleanKernel. (have also runned Hydro 4.1).
So the questions i kind of simple: Can I install CyanogenMod 10 on my Asus taking in mind what I told you earlier?
Thanks in advance!

No, you cant. Till now there is no CM10 for the jb bootloader, but xplowild is working on it.
I reccommend the OC Rom with untermensch kernel. Runs fast as hell.

[Q] XT926 won't boot after installing cyanogenmod

I am trying to install my first custom ROM on my XT926 ota kk 4.4.2 rooted bootloader unlocked. I have cwm 6.0.4.4 and I have tried installing cm 10.2 stable and then I tried cm 11 snapshot and it says it has installed .zip files successfully but when I reboot it just hangs up on the M logo and I have to restore my ota to get my phone to reboot, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I believe most of the Roms in the Dev forum are still using 4.1.2 base, which means you cant flash them unless you go back to jb first.
There are some 4.4 test builds around you could flash on kk, sorry I don't have the link to them.

I tried one of the cm 11 ROMs from cyanogenmod's website, are you saying that those are also designed for the 4.1.2 kernel? If so does anyone have any suggestions on how to revert back to the jelly bean kernel, Also I was wondering if its OK to download the custom rom.zip file directly to the phone and put it in the right directory instead of moving it from the computer.
Unless they were updated to 4.4 source in the last week, I would say they are still on jb source. Most of the Roms you will find are a jellykat mix.
I posted a guide in the general forum, near the bottom you will find a pre-edited jb file you can use to flash with rsd.
Yes you can DL Roms right to your phone if you wish.

[Q] Old Version of CM - How to Update?

My G2 broke last week and I am using this Galaxy S3 until my G2 gets repaired.
It is currently running a VERY old version of CyanogenMod - CM10.1 20130713 EXPERIMENTAL version and ClockworkMod Recovery V6.0.3.1 which I know is quite old version.
I was wondering what steps I need to take to get this phone running a 4.4.x ROM? What should I flash first? Also any recommendations on 4.4.x ROMs - AOSP vs. TouchWiz?
Thanks in advance.

My recommendation would be to update ClockworkMod Recovery first. I think they're on to version 6.0.4.5 now, not sure though since I'm using TWRP instead.
In regards to choosing a ROM I think that depends on what you're into. Since you're already running CyanogenMod and you want 4.4 then you should probably take a look at CM11. I had mobile network/signal problems using the "Official" build so I'm using a Mastamoon unofficial build, it works great. Search for: cm-11-20140709-unofficial-mastamoon-d2lte.zip

Do I need to flash anything before going to a CM11 ROM from CM10?
I see in a lot of ROM threads about locked bootloader or certain baseband, etc.
Any advice on that? Anything I should be weary about?

Yeah you should probably upgrade to MF1. There is a link to it on the page for that particular ROM i had recommended. I don't think a locked bootloader will be an issue at this point since you've already got CM10 on there.
