No its not supported I dont think. However, beats audio is just an EQ profile so why dont you download something like PowerAMP from play store and configure it to a beats sound or maybe a more pleasing sound to your ears

You find beats audio only With sense 3 and up!

Second that. DSP Manager wipes the floor with Beats.
PowerAMP does a pretty good job too. Why not try out the free trial.

I've tried CM10 and I flashed the AwesomeBeats tweak alongside the ROM... The tweak installs an app with Beats profiles and an built in EQ you can modify. After using some time tweaking with the EQ and Bass Boost, I ended up with beautiful sound, so if you want Beats Audio and a powerfull EQ, go for that mod!

Allright, dsp manager is the best for headset volume, but Beats is not good. Bassmodd v.18 is working very vell but dsp manager doesnt support this programme.

Only reason IMHO to really want beats audio mod in a aosp rom to begin with is IF U USE BEATS HEADPHONES alongside. I'm guessing 99% of the people that want beats don't utilize the technology it was intended for.

Are you sure that it is only EQ profile. I thought it has something to do with hardware too. I have tried 2 phones(sensation&XE) with the same headphones, way different. by the way normal sensation used a custom rom beats EQ

[info] Beats Audio ... Fake optimisation..

Hi all !
I just post here to talk about ( again ? ) Beats audio.
After Many tests on many roms ( Beats / No Beats ) the results are here :
Take a 2.3.4 Without Beats audio Audio quality is really fine !
even in Bleutooth A2DP, Stereo Headsets or in speaker-mode.
Now with a 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 With Beats audio :
Audio is crappy With HTC Player in speaker-mode and A2DP.
When you plug headsets it enable beats then you have a nice quality but very very close to stock 2.3.4 without Beats.....
BTW you can listen to Music on deezer or spotify your have a nice quality without any probleme in A2DP or speakermode or Stereo-headsets.
What do you think about it ?
Best regards all !
I already said this. When u have beats kn the phone, htc makes the regular sound sojnd ****ty, and enable beats, and it raises it to a little better than nornal

You can't enable Beats in A2DP....
Is there a way to have both beats and the original equalizer??

It's a gimmick. CM7's DSP Manager is better, imo.
I prefer using Poweramp and its equalizer presets. Sounds great!

Beats is made for beats, not other headphones. K? Got it? Cool. Stop *****ing.

I personally quite like the difference Beats makes with the stock earbuds, maybe that's just me
It seems to pull the sound "forwards", if that makes sense, and gives it a slightly richer sound. Yeah, CM7's equalizer probably does just as well, but I'm not on CM7 yet.
I personally find that beats is much better for my ears than CM7 + DSP on my non stock reference bud phones.
CM7 is alpha state and not quite ready for prime time... there are audio artifacts still in there so the sound quality isn't quite clean as yet... but it will get there.
ver8 is much better than ver7
Overall however, The CURRENT audio quality for CM7 is horrible and i listen to a lot of classical music... for example: violin plucking and bowing sound terrible on CM7 but sound quite decent on Beats... that is quite a shame as Beats isn't much more than an EQ tuning for the Beats headset... and i am not using Beats headsets im using expensive Reference buds.
Right now I am looking for a better EQ app on market to replace beats as it does have its short comings as well.
Poweramp sounds better than beats but its ui is garbage to me
Sent by my feau gee
Here's my opinion on this whole beats fiasco.
All beats focus on is BASS. The more the better. It smallens the sound stage, which is why some feel like it's "closer"
DSP manager is not tuned for you. You tune it yourself, as music is subjective to each person. I might like bass, but you might not. So tune it yourself.
Think of DSP as cookie dough and Beats as ready baked cookies. Some like ready baked cookies, but some want to fine tune it themselves, adding chocolate or ****.
All in all, I HATE beats. It's nothing but a marketing scheme to me.
Yes, at one hand it's maketing. And it's working. There are options with better sound. But, if you like bass based music, Dr Dre's sound is quiet good. The Beats headphones are strong, at least I like the cable. It's a better headphone with a smaller range of happy users.
I like bass music a lot!

Plus one fukin thousand people on this forum are such haters. At the end of the day ....
Stock sensation: my dhd with srs sounded WAY better
Sensation xe: best audio quality on any phone I've tried, it makes so much difference.
P.s I listen to music about 2/3 hours a day and I use beats studios so I can deffo tell the difference.
Oh and don't criticize beats on 3.5 Rom because we haven't got a proper port, the mods we got sound nothing like native beats on xe.

Its impossible. Music depends on the person listening to it. Why so you think there are so many headphone manufacturers out there? What works for you might not work for him. You can't benchmark a headphone.

[MOD][updated]DSP Manager as replacement of beats audio[Sense 4.0]now download works!

For those who don't like the beats working in their device instead of DSP Manager then you can flash the file below.
Warning you will lose beats, and the following libs will no longer function ##libbeatbas.so, ###libsrsfx.so
Note: It does not matter what kernel you use eg. bricked or anthrax as the file related only to the ROM
WHATS WORKING:
Dynamic Range compression
EXTREME BASS Settings - prepare to be blown away
Equalizer
Virtual ROOM
Requirements:
0. SENSE 4 ROM and AOSP ROMS, SENSE3.6(theres workaround just keep reading below)
1. Google Play Music - included in zips - Comptable in the HTC lockscreen player
2. DSP Manager - included in zips
3. Musicfx comes in goole music - remove this as it will override settings in DSP
4. High end Headphones with deep bass - Frequency response 6-22k khz or must be closer range fail to do so will have a worse effect ordinary headphones cannot handle extreme bass. eg sennheiser mxl60 works better in audio beats.
Now try with your originale beats headphones comes in the package and you will feel the difference.
NO EFFECT ON SENSE4 Music player
NOT COMPATIBLE ON SENSE 3.6
the audio_effects.conf will f### up the ext.jar, widget.jar, then you will wrestle with FC on HTC music, and HTC video otherwise you dont need them then you can use this, try AOSP player with shinzlon theme and remove them instead
TRICKING THE BEATS notification to appear while playing google music
played the htc music player until the beats notification appeared then closed it
and played google player then the beats notification still remains
tested on
ROM: ORDROID 2.0.5
Device: HTC sensation XE
XE beats headphones come in package
Sennheiser hd 201
If you dont like just flashed the returntobeats.zip, also if you tried to flashed this in sense3.6 or AOSP roms
Credits goes to kristofpetho for working libcyanogen.so on AOSP roms, he might retired but his legacy moves on
Thanks a lot
But I can't download, it says file damaged, maybe because the space between "no" and "beats" try to remove it please, thx

Yes it will work but the rest of lib like beats and srs will not work it will exclusively activate only libcyonogen.so. also i will doubt the revert to beats will be similar to that ROM just back up your audio_effects.conf in system/etc/audio_effects.conf if anything goes wrong

Using our sensation as MP3 Player

Hi!
I was wondering since I've been pretty happy with Beats on our Sensation, the sound is actually pretty clean and loud enough which is what I want.
So my question is, I've been using Sense roms with Beats Audio for the sake of it, I wanted to try AOSP and CM (i did before but never really used as mp3 player) but I'm not sure with the absense of beats I can achieve the same quality / loudness, so I'm asking for your opinions
Is there any app like Apollo which does the same job? I think DSP Manager from CM isn't as good or as loud?
Opinions?
Thank you so much!
there is beats installer in play store ..check it ..i think that will do the job for you

It's flashable zip file, latest version is v4.0
Also, try Anthrax kernel (only for sense-based ROM though). It has system-wide beats, I read somewhere that Beats is like 60% kernel and 40% ROM libs. Sure there's a free Beats audio installer on the market, but considering HTC invested quite a lot in Beats sound technology, it makes more sense that the thing is more than just an apk and some libs.
PowerAmp seems to have a crispier sound to it.
DSP Manager was also suggested better than Beats.

Best sound mod IMO

Anyone know why mods like this don't work with Poweramp? The only reason I'm still using Sense-based ROM's is because nothing works with Poweramp. I really want to make the final move over to Jelly Bean but I like the SRS, Dolby and Beats enhancements you can get for Sense ROMs.

Haha I have done in the past and it mostly throws up people replying to audio mods for various devices claiming they do and do not work with Poweramp. I have found that Dolby Mobile should work on newer JB ROMs, now I just need SRS and Beats too I wouldn't mind if they worked with another player that wasnt Poweramp, but sometimes its hard to tell if you can't turn them on/off on the fly like you can with Poweramp.

Beat's EQ

I know thats htc sensation xe's stock ics rom beats, is just a simple eq boost. But is there any custom Jelly Bean ROM that retains that beats notification? TIA
