extended battery-optimus T - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

aNyone know an extended baTTEry for optimus T(p509)? I know that they make them for optimus S or V, but not T(p509)

What you're looking for is an Optimus M extended battery: http://www.amazon.com/Extended-Battery-Cover-Optimus-MS690/dp/B005KWD6TK

But they don't
Just like optimus s battery don't work on optimus t

I'm pretty sure they all use the LGIP-400n.
The only differences I'm seeing are in thickness, which may be due to the varying capacity.
EDIT: Just to clarify, the S is thinner than the T, which is why the batteries aren't universally compatible without some modification.
The M is much thicker, but that won't matter, because you're going to be using the modified backplate anyway.

After further research, it appears the T and the S are most compatible in terms of dimensions and tab placement, but you're going to have to cut away some of it to accommodate that silver bezel that swoops down on the T (the S has buttons in this location).
The M looked like the right dimensions, but after looking at a the original backplate, I can tell it's all wrong.
If you're able to do the modifications on the S's backplate, it's probably the easiest way to go.
The only other alternative would be locate a spare T backplate or a hardback case and modify it (cut out just enough for the battery to fit and create a new form with bondo).

Received my HTC Desire Dock Today !

It was a good dock.
Not bad for the price, doubt the battery is worth squat, though, due to how batteries are rated, there can be a huge difference between one 1400mAh and another. The HTC official ones are pretty good, so they tend to match or beat some 1600mAh batteries, so I dread to think what an unofficial 1200mAh battery is like, but still considering most docks cost about the same as this WITHOUT the battery, that's not bad at all.
I'm looking to get a dock myself, but I'm really wary about the cheapness of them.
well docks are pretty much a data cable in moulded plastic, not that much to them. I have no complaints with it though.
I think if you start changing the battery very often the back cover will brake... just the way THC made it?
do you think the phone would fit in with a skin on?

Well you have about 1mm each side of the Desire, I would say its a perfect fit without a case. Any more than 1mm all around and I'm pretty sure it won't fit.

I think the back cover seems fine, I think it is sturdier than it looks.
I tried out the 1200mAh battery yesterday and it lasted a whole day, so I don't plan on using it as my main but it certainly isn't useless.

Random batteries that work with the G2...

Has anyone else noticed that the T-Mobile G2, and the HTC Snap (Maple) have similarly shaped batteries with different specs? The G2's battery is rated at 4.81Whr, 3.7VDC, 1300mAh (model: BB96100), while the Snap's battery is rated 5.5Whr, 3.7VDC, 1500mAh (model: RHOD160). The Snaps battery is perhaps 2mm thicker, and had 2 annoying plastic corner pieces that prevented its insertion into the G2 (a nail clipper got rid of those pieces easily). Back cover fits, but it is a little more snug than usual. I could remove the label for a better fit, if i wanted this as a long term mod. G2 boots fine with this battery, and it looks like the pins match up, because it is charging fine from usb port.
Has anyone else tried this mod? I'm not sure if I want to run my G2 with a battery not specifically designed for it. This is more about following a hunch, just to see if it would work (although the extra 200mAh would be nice...)
P.S. - If you have located any batteries meant for other phones that also work with the G2, please feel free to list them here.
Just a thought... judging by the model number of the Snap battery, that's the same one the Rhodium (Touch Pro 2) uses.

I just did the clipping Trick with my spare Touch Pro 2 Battery and it fit into my Desire Z. Im not sure if it'll matter much... but by cutting off the plastik bit with the clipper it showed a small hole in the battery casing. Just looked like a hollow part with no actual "battery parts". I filled it up with some superglue, so that no moisture gets inside.
Let's see how this works out...
Both batteries also have similar specs:
The Desire Z has a 1300mAh and my old TP2 has a 1500mAh. Both operate at 3.7V DC.
the evo shifts battery is almost the exact same size and fits in kinda snugly. doesnt add much but it helps.

[Q] Charging dock for desktop that fits with case

Hi
I'm looking for a dock now for two reasons, once is I got extra battery and I need charger for it and second is because its cool ;P
But I use case (double protection silicone + plastic) and all I find is those who fits the dhd with no cover.. :/
I cant believe that not most of the people use case protector so these stores would make atleast 1 dock that would fit it..
I also tried to contact about 20 different stores asking them if it would fit their dock and all said no
Can you please help me find 1?
That fits with case and of course can charge batteries..
Thanks,
Yarden
anybody?
don't be shy..
Same question here...
Ive had a really good look around Ebay but havent found any myself. Also quite interest...I believe its because the USB plug is not able to support the weight of the phone therefore, needed to sides to be supported as a result, these docks are made to the shape of the phone, without case.
I hate it but you are right..
I'll just build my own custom one.

[Q] Extended Battery Cover

I just purchased an extended battery for my Nexus S 4G, this one specifically:
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innocell-3500mAh-Extended-Battery/dp/B0053735IY
Now, I have no complaints with the battery, it's fantastic. However, the new back that it came with is very cheaply made, and I'm afraid it's going to break. I also don't really like the feel of the material.
Does anyone know of any cases that can fit a Nexus S 4G with an extended battery in it? I've been Googling around and have yet to find anything. I've pretty much just resigned to being careful with the back, but I figured I'd ask you all to see if anyone knows of something that will fit. I was using a silicone case before (tight fit, good to grip) but anything would pretty much be better than the back of this.
Thanks!
Did you have looked in Power-Skin?
I'd put the link but the system don't leave me... Because I have less than 10 post...
But one of my friend use it on a IPhone and he say its amazing...

You're probably not going to find any cases to accommodate the larger battery. Thats why I went a different route and got multiple 1500mah batteries. I keep one in my wallet just in case the one in my phone dies, I wind up with almost the same battery (3500mah extended vs 2 1500mah batteries) but get to use any case I want.

Moto Mods, what would you like to see?

I will start off by saying i would like to see a case that protects the phone and acts as an extension for the mod links, in order to still put mods on (on top of the case) and not lose functionality. It woupd have to be thin of course.
Also a cheap battery extension mod, maybe zerolemon or something.
But a rotating camera lense mod would be super legit. What would you like to see?
I like the "style shell" idea, but I'd be interested in a style mod that also had protection for the sides of the phone...
Shattershield is great for the screen...but, if the phone drops on its side, you're still going to break/scuff/crack that part of the phone...

Yea that would be legit, and maybe with just a little raise so the front doesnt get scratches, i know it cant shatter but i hate scratches
A style shell with wireless charging. No extra battery, just wireless charging. Please.

This would be good as well!...
I'd also be interested to see what kind of extra battery they could fit inside a mod that just eliminates the camera bump, something the size of a style shell
The existing battery packs bring the thickness of the phone out past the camera...obviously they wouldn't be able to squeeze the extra 2200mah of juice into a thinner pack, but I'd love the option

I would love to see the pro camera mod. I've seen some teaser images of it. Definitely something I would purchase if it's actually decently made and not overly expensive.

I honestly like my phone better, holds better and feels more natural, with my Incipio battery mod on the phone. I does add a little extra thickness, but it's designed really well and fits my hand really well.

When I picked my phone up tonight the guy let me slap one of the Incipio batteries on the phone to see what it was like...
You're right, it's much less bulky than I thought it would be...felt nice actually

Would love to see a keyboard slider attachment a la the OG! Droid
Some ideas I'd love to see come to fruition:
- High gain WiFi antenna (which can be used for being a hotspot as well)
- High gain LTE Antenna (if that's a thing)
- E-ink display
- Wallet
- Style case that actually protects phone (TPU type or w/e, just something that won't slip from hands)
- Solar Charger (prob not practical since the tech isn't efficient yet, but still cool!)
- 2nd Touch screen
- Drone body that can follow a pre-defined flight path and the Moto Z will film it all. No controller required (yeah, I went there)
Love it!
In deciding between this phone for the Note 7, I'm leaning towards the Z purely for the mods. It makes it seem like it wont be outdated so quickly. I had a hard time coming up with what new mods would be but @jsmuli2 has some really good ideas!
An ir blaster with headphone jack built into an extended battery would be nice
Either the teased camera mod, or even a DSLR sensor/lens attachment mod would be nice. An e ink display would be nice too although I do own a kindle.
I would like to see something the phone enhances as opposed to enhancing the phone. Maybe something like an rc car that you take the body off of pop the phone on and tweak performance based on how you will be using it. Imagine the possibilities if that route is taken with mods. The device itself can be customized with low end tech specs since the power house would be the phone.
How about a car mount mod, with turbo charging and sd card storage for dash cam...

I just want a case that you can use the mods with, but still functions as a full case. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard. Spring pins on the inside, contacts on the outside, and magnets... I'd think that would be a no-brainer.
And a mod with a real headphone jack wouldn't be terrible.

It's stiff, I couldn't even get it to fit on my phone, those that have gotten it to fit have complained about fitment issues with certain mods, or the charging cable...there is a whole thread about it right on this page....
