Pretty much as stated in the title. I rooted and installed the stock Inspire rom with sideloading and all that jazz from attn1. Before I rooted, when I turned off WiFi, it turned off Mobile Data (gave it a check mark under H+ instead of 2 arrows). But since the root, it doesn't do that most of the time. Sometimes I can fix it by going into Airplane Mode, enabling WiFi and turning off Airplane Mode. That'll fix it sometimes. What's going on? Anyone got a clue?
Try checking what apps you have running in the background. I've seen that sometimes some programs will try to use mobile data even if wifi is on. If you go to Settings>Apps>Manage Apps you can try closing apps using data one by one to see if after you close a certain one mobile data disconnects. Try any AT&T app especially.

I tried shutting down all the running services and such, but it didn't fix it. I installed "TrafficStats Lite" to see what's drawing the bandwidth, and it just gives me "Total GPRS/EDGE/3G 55 kB", no programs using it. If I intentionally run a program on 3G, it shows up there. I'm stumped.
I had the same problem. I rebooted and problem solved. Also you can put the mobile network widget on your screen and just turn off the network when on wifi.
Check the apn set up. I created an apn to enable WiFi hotspot w/o data tether plan. When using my created apn my data never turned off either. Upon switching back to Medianet data was turned off and my "check mark" under the H+ was restored. Hope this helps.

Alright. So I installed and used barnacle wifi to tether something to my infuse, it worked. However, when I got home I found it can't connect to my home router. I checked on my laptop and the network is fine. I tried restarting, re entering password for the network and still nothing. Any ideas?

Also, when watching the wifi connection in phone settings, I see it scanning then say connecting then disconnected. Then starts the process over again.

you restarted the phone? sometimes my router becomes invisible and turning off wifi and tturning it back on helps. maybe try turning on mobile ap mode let it give you the whole checking for tethering plan and you dont own a tehthering plan messages and then turn it back to normal wifi. it might just have something to do with the way the radio switched modes that disagrees with the app, or a total coincicence. sometimes toggling modes sets everything strait. sometimes there is an actual problem that may be fixed by clearing data or reflashing the stock rom, i doubt it damaged the hardware in any way.
Yep, just cleared barnacle application data and fixed it right up. Thanks

Go into your settings, go to Wireless and Networks, go to Wi-Fi settings and set your sleep policy to Never. Out of the box it is set to turn off when your screen turns off unless you change it.

The latest official firmware P6200XXMD6 has problem in activating wi-fi.
if I turn on and off wifi several times(i think), wifi cannot be turned on again until you reboot. When I try to turn on wifi in settings, it will only stuck in "turning on...". I have faced this problem several times because juice defender turns on and off my wifi (in order to save battery).
Is this normal, I mean is there a bug in this ROM that prevents wifi from turning on if you turned on and off wifi several times before?

I have also had this issue ,but mine went away by just uninstalling one of my antivirus programs (uninstalled Avast and kept lookout and one mobile care ) and now i have not seen this issue in months.Could this be caused by to many antiviruses or just perhaps a bad combination of a few apps?
Hello-
My Nexus 5 keeps reconnecting to a common public WiFi hotspot even after I choose to forget it. I thought that this might be related to Google backup/restore (i.e., that the forgotten SSID was being restored automatically), so I have also turning off backup to clear the data, forgetting the network, and then turning back up back on.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ron
