Change splash screen? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So now that we have an unlocked bootloader, is it possible to change the splash screen? Or whatever the samsung galaxy sIII screen is on boot since obviously the samsung screen is pointless to change since it's on for a while millisecond. Ha

I believe Samsung puts the splash in the kernel, so it's not easily changed like HTC

I have not seen anything that would allow the actual galaxy sIII splash screen to change... Only the boot animations

it must be possible because both CM and AOKP have different splash screens .. anyone have any luck as of yet .. i love AOKP but im really not a fan of a big pink unicorn everytime i boot my phone

Splash screen?

So as the A2 is booting up, the Motorola dual core animation plays, then comes the AT&T Rethink possible animation, is that called the splash screen?
Would it be possible to change the splash screen animation?
If its still its the splash screen. If it moves it's the boot animation. Not accurate 100% due to people making still boot animation but that's how it is most of the time

The first screen is the Splash screen and the second one is the boot animation. Both can be changed.
The boot animation is located in /system/media/ and it is called bootanimation.zip
The splash screen is called logo.bin and I believe it is located at the root of the files system.
You can change the animation by installing Tom toolbox in the market. Gets rid of the annoying at&t screen.

Exactly what I want to do! Did u mean ROM Toolbox? So it will keep the Motorola animation and allow me to change the at&t animation?

Download Aptoide and do a search for Rom Toolbox pro, I changed the battery and got rid of the ATT white logo. Thanks for posting this, that screen was a nightmare!

Hell yeah! Thanks for the heads up, will do. I already know what battery I want. Can u customize the carrier text or is hiding it the only option?

Not a clue actually, I only thought that was an apple iOS thing? The battery meter seems to go at 20% increments. The 10% does not work right, phone shows 70% while my battery icon says 80%. Bummer.

Black line in screen???

Ok so after having this phone for over a month. The I'm watching a movie for the first time and I notice when the screen goes black in the movie there is a black line in the screen you can only see it on black screens or very dark gray screens. I have never dropped my phone.I'm just wondering does anyone else have this? and what is it from? The screen has to be pure black. I notice if there is white text near it its harder to see.

Yes others have had similar issues. Its a common problem with our phones, you can try and get a replacement but your gambling on getting another with the same issue.

I had this issue. Verizon replaced it and so far so good.

[Q] Home Screen Wallpaper Glitch?

Hi there,
I searched for this but could not find anything, so my apology if I overlooked it somewhere.
Just bought my Galaxy SIII through Verizon, Android version 4.0.4 ICS. Everything is still stock except for changing the wallpapers on the homescreen and lock screen (both different). Here's my issue and it seems to be off and on. If I hit the home button, regardless of whatever app or screen I am on, the wallpaper will glitch and seem to "offset" itself for a brief moment. This results in some blurred/granular stuff on each side. So far I've turned off the animation and transitions in the developer option, and turned off S Voice wake up when hitting the home button twice. I also tried reverting my wallpapers back to the stock wallpaper. Nothing has seemed to fix this problem as of yet. It's not lagging the phone performance, but it's annoying and look like ****.
Anybodye give me some help on how to address/fix this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.
Tom

Noobish question... Can I use any splash screen I find online or are they device specific? I know I could use any boot animation but I'm just not sure about splash screens. Thanks in advance

If my memory is functional, splash screens work a lot like boot animations do in the sense that you can use any one you find, however, just like boot animations, you want to try and get one that matches the resolution of the device (480x800 for the Blaze). You can use splash screens with different resolutions, they might look a little weird though.

[Q] screen is shaking/vibrating

My screen is shaking or vibrating just a little. If I go to the stock recovery and look at the highlightet text I can see that the text is vibrating. Am I the only one? It is barely noticable during a booted up system, but it is anoying.
Do you have a solid screen in stock recovery?
Yes

Yes wobbling, but just a little. You only see it when you stare at the higlighted text in recovery, but just the highlighted.

Probably my eyes is tricking me or I was not aware of this wobbling thing for 3 years, because now I see wobbling my optimus 2x's screen.

Try showing it to someone else without saying anything, you might only perceive it to be "shaking" because you believe it is there and are looking for it.
