[Q] Re: Tab Plus CyanogenMod 9 (August 10 build) - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

(First of all, many many thanks to aorth and his or her sources for this really useful firmware port!)
I can't reply in the main developer thread and I can't find the question (or answer) posted elsewhere, so I'm asking here: Is it possible to add an 'Apps' shortcut to the combined-bar at bottom, as exists in the stock firmwares, or should I just try a different launcher?? Overall I'm very impressed so didn't want to tinker. Thanks for any answers.

The notification bar is part of the framework, which is highly customized by Samsung.
I guess you won't get that in CM, even with different launcher.

[Q] The Ultimate ROM Selection Poll And Guide For The TF101

This poll/guide is intended to be more comprehensive than other "which ROM is best".
This could be a place where you post what you like about your ROM (devs as well), and what features help to differentiate it from the pack.
So, which ROM do you use?
(Edit: Gauging interest via reply/view count has been made harder because some ROMs have come from Honeycomb edited threads, instead of completely new threads (for their 4.0 based brethren)...which, i might add, it makes sense to do sometimes.)
Is there a way to edit a poll? If not, sorry for the ARHD ICS Typo.

[PROTIP lol] Annoyed by ICS keyboard switcher?

I've read some people don't like the new notification icon for keyboard switching. I don't have a way to get rid of that icon, but I just discovered you don't need to use it. Long hold on the space bar and you will get a pop up for quick changing the keyboard!
I'm running the latest (IIRC) version of Clean Rom Developer Edition. Sorry if this doesn't work on other ICS ROMs.

[Q] Methods for changing the colours in GApps.

Hi all,
I'd rather post this to the specific thread for the ROM I'm using, but alas despite being registered for years I can't post due to having never actually needed to before.
The general question is: Short of using a theme pack (for the theme engine used by CM9 etc.), is there a way to change the text/background colours?
More specifically (and there are others waiting for an answer on this over at the ROM thread (FOXHOUND 0.2 Cyano+AOKP), is there just a stock ICS/Nexus theme available?
There is supposedly a "white" theme included in the ROM, but alas it doesn't work (and I can't post in the thread to follow it up *sigh*) and the GApps has been made all black in the default theme and frankly I find it unattractive and painful on my eyes.
Google returns nothing for my queries, as does XDA.
Can anyone help with this?
And if you can, perhaps you could post a solution to the thread for me.

2Q: Nova Tablet Mode & Custom Roms with IR on 3113

I'm combining two questions/issues here so I don't fill up this forum.
1. I heard a rumor (or read it somewhere going through this forum?) that the custom ROMs for the 3113 rarely implement the IR drivers as a means of being more compatible with other versions of this tablet. Is this true? Are there ROMs that support IR? As a TS owner, this is fairly important.
2. Nova launcher - perhaps this is more of a complaint session than a question: On every device I've owned, I've seen hacks and mods to attempt to get "tablet mode" working on a 7" device. Overall, I believe the attempt is to get launchers to look more tablet like. Yes, the soft buttons move to the left, and the menu locations change, but overall, I'm assuming the holy grail everyone is searching for is the tablet look on the launchers.
I saw a support section on the Nova website where the developer stated that creating phablet and tablet modes was hokey and pointless (paraphrasing). My question would be, has anyone attempted to mod Nova to support a tablet mode on a 7" device? Really all we're asking for here is to move the side located launch bar to the bottom, allow the side margins to change pages, and put the search bar on the top.
Is this really that big of a deal??? What is it with this belief that a 7" tablet owner should be happy with a phone interface, and why are the devs of the launchers too stubborn to give us the option to decide how we want our layout? Is there something I'm missing here?
I've been through every launcher ever made (practically), and to date, I've only seen one offshoot of ADW do what we're asking, but unfortunately, performance was down, it was a little buggy, and I believe the dev may not have been babying the development.

1. To the best of my knowledge, the IR issue is based on the fact that it is proprietary software that belongs to Samsung - and they have not released the code, or given permission, etc for it to be used. The only "custom" roms that will have the IR option will be those using a stock Samsung rom as its base.
2. I cannot respond to the Nova Launcher question

Ah... That clears up a lot. Unfortunate as I thought Samsung was one of the leaders in open sourcing their code.

To point 2, the phablet ui was pushed by Google in jellybean. It has nothing to do with the homescreen devs. If you use a tablet ui hack, Nova works fine.

Well, really all a homescreen dev would have to do is allow us to move the the dock and search in portrait, right? I understand that tablet ui moves a few of the menus, etc, but I myself don't care that much about that (maybe I'm alone on this?. The big potatoes for me is the main home ui as I really don't like the dock on the side...
The control moving would be nice, but much lower on my list.

Doesn't ADW EX allow for the tablet-like homescreen option? I know you can put the dock on the bottom as opposed to the side, and the redesigned action bar can be put at the top. Only thing it doesn't do is put system UI in tablet mode.

Is there any XDA forum with miui customisation

I have seen that {Warez site reference removed} and observed there are very much customisation things for miui roms and it's really appreciable :fingers-crossed:..
but the bad thing is the {Warez site reference removed} which I doesnt know(translator is also misleading) , I can't even take the attachments from that forum since i don't have an account,it's not letting me to create one even ...
so iam here asking to suggest me a thread which is discussed about miui things in English.,
if there isn't any till now..why don't someone starts it.(like a person with better miui rom/framework/UI knowledge.),just initiate a colourful thread and let it set onto the pace for discussions like major things can be found in reg. to MIUI (in English pls)
iam really very very much considered about customisation things of miui roms
hope someone considers this.,
waiting for someone to start an English thread for the MIUI ROM/UI/FRAMEWORK/CUSTOMISATION discusion
Take a look here maybe...
In short, you could use: MIUI Themes, Substratum, CustoMIUIzer and GravityBox, at least for some quite easy UI customisation.
Well, there are also generic tools like KWLP and KWGT that you could expand with Tasker automation.
