HT25 vs HT24? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Just got a replacement phone, sent in an HT25 and got an HT24. Is there any difference at all?

only difference is HT25 is made by apple

Strange, Im thinking you might of got the order mixed up? HT25 is made on may while the HT24 is made on april. Also for the International One X the HT24 models were the ones plauged with production defects although i am not sure of the HTC One XL.

I find it odd that I've actually got HT26
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

ht25 is a newer batch than ht24 but defects and what not are completely random. I have ht24 and have a perfect defect-free phone while others I know who have ht25 have defects.

First time I've heard of a phone after HT25

I got an ht24 replacement and 2.2 update. No creaks no WiFi issues no problem
Sent from my HTC One X

I take it this is the first four digits of the serial number? Mine is an HT23, bought just a week ago. Currently waiting on the store to get a replacement in as this has many dead pixels.

I got my ht24 on launch day may 6. So I concur that it's probably made earlier than the newer ones.
And good to see someone got ht26. Must mean they sold out of previous stock.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app

Well, my replacement is an HT24 after the store sold out and received a new shipment.
It's creaky and you can see the soft key backlight through the bottom seam between the glass/bezel. Unfortunately, AT&T said that since I have already exchanged my phone twice for functional defects, they will only exchange it again if the defect actually affects usage. Still, this phone is certainly better than one with dead pixels, so I guess I'll live.

I pre-ordered mine and got one from the first batch it has a rattle in the camera, a creaking housing, and a small block of dead pixels. I still love the thing to death! I'm shocked the carriers will let you keep trading in for ones, but that's good customer service.

On the bottom left of my phone I can push down and there's some give along with a click sound. Anybody else? My inspire did this too and I exchanged it.

my two day old one x does this only in the lower right. I think this is mostly due to the design and will happen sooner or later, it did not the first day.

Or just ignore it and enjoy your phone. Does it do it during normal use, or just after you pressed hard on the corners because the OP told you to?
If it moves and makes a noise every time you TOUCH your screen during normal use, I would say it's an issue. If you have to force it by pressing hard, I wouldn't worry about it. Basically did you notice it before the OP brought it up?
It's really not a big deal or even noticeable unless you actually look for an issue...plus the case covers it up...and if you are concerned about something like this, you ought to be using a case anyways, ha.
I'm the op . It was really bad on my inspire. Touching the menu button made the phone click. If they all do it I'm not going to worry about it

If its annoying you then replace it, you just run the gamble of having some other issue that people are having. I personally think because of how hard I usually am to my phones and because I don't use a case this thing is going to be creaking and making all kinds of sounds in no time so I just wont care about it now.
Its like your first brand new car HAS to be perfect and you take it back for every rattle or squeak, by the 4th or 5th you think of it more as a tool that serves a function in your life and the squeaks and rattles don't take priority.
A brand new, freshly delivered, white hox and an equally new gray hox. Neither one has banding,.light bleed or squeaky corners. My squeaky inspire was horrible. And yesterday the volume rocker decided to fall off of the inspire as well.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Lol I noticed this earlier and didn't think much of it. Definitely creaking. Not sure if worth an exchange tho.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Welcome to XDA, where we probe our phones until we find a issue. Lol. Mine doesn't do it unless I go hulk on the corner, which I will never do under normal use. So it's fine to me.
No problems here
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Can't speak for the OP, but I think some people are intentionally looking for problems with the phone. i.e. doing things that wouldn't occur during normal operation, such as pushing down on the screen edges.
So far my phone hasn't had a single issue.
i dont push down hard on the buttons so i dont know
Mine has some give but no sound. Nothing i would've noticed if the op had never brought it up

I looked for it on this phone because, like dust under the screen, it seems to follow HTC around from device to device.
I'm not one to freak out over little stuff like this, but I just wanted to get the info out there in case it wasn't an isolated incident/defect on MY device.
I'm having the same issue on the bottom left corner. It started to randomly make a clicking noise and then I found this topic. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one but I would rather have a perfect phone!!
I've also noticed the small gap in the lower left allows a little bit of light out so out looks like the seal isn't perfect, hence the clicking too I guess.
I would return it to HTC but after reading other people's posts, it's likely that I could just get another bad one.
Sigh. £400 and it still has issues.
The bottom left of my HTC One X has a little give but I dont think its anything major that should be taken very seriously

Strange pixels blinking.

I just get my HTC One X. Wonderful phone, but I have very uncomfortable issue with display. On majority of screens in menu or applications, especially on dark backgrounds, it shows dozens or even hundreds of white or red pixels staying or moving as you swipe. Please help, what I should do? Got some screenshots.

Take it back, you should have no trouble exchanging it for a new one. Mine had one single dead pixel and they swapped mine for a new one. My new one even has the whiter display as opposed to the other one which had the yellowish tint.

looks like bad ram the gpu is using. Exchange it.
Thank you so much for your reply. But what if I bought it through RadioshackWireless, can I go to At&t store with that phone to exchange it there? Thank you.
I agree...I would exchange it...either a ram issue or the display is bad..HTC uses a few different companies to make their screens so it could just be bad...if bought at best buy at att, you should have no issue exchanging it..if amazon, you can still return but have to wait on shipping...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
you will have to go to Radio Shack and have them exchange it, AT&T will tell you to take it back to them. If you got the the phone from Radio Shack Online then check your packing slip and make sure it doesn't have any specific instructions saying that you can only return it to them by mail. Hope this helps

Screen Ripple

Okay, Is this just a somewhat defective phone or is the att version like this. I dont have to put much pressure on the screen and it ripples. On the international one I can put a good amount of pressure before it will make ripples
i mean it doesnt take much and its like putting a lotta pressure on the screen.
I have the at&t One X and I have no ripples no matter how much pressure I put on my phone ... You should maybe take yours back, exchange for a new one ...

I have this problem as well the first time it happened I was like "what the hell!?" Its sort of like when you press on a laptop screen or any other LCD. Its pretty annoying because it doesn't take much at all. They shipped me my replacement almost a week ago and it still hasn't gotten here and they haven't sent me a tracking number. Kinda pissing me off, but I guess good things happen to those that wait. It better apply to this :banghead:

Black TMo One-S is here, picture inside.

Look what showed up at my work today.
It came directly from HTC for specific reps who won phones from HTC in April. I'd imagine they are releasing them very shortly since we received them as prizes today. Mine should be here in a few days and I'll check software versions to see if there are any differences.

Well when i had talked to one of the higher ups at HTC in March, he said they planned on releasing the Black version at launch, but since the coating had the chipping issues they decided to delay it till they fixed it.
Hopefully this was the actual reason, and we don't have any chipping issues on these phones. I'll post some more pictures tomorrow or day after.

My wife fell in love with the black model. She's still holding on to her GS2 and doesn't care for the GS3 or anything equal in size.

What to do?

Hey XDA, I recently bought a One X about 5 days ago.
Since then I've replaced the phone 3 times, first and second replacements were for dead pixels, third was for a faulty Wi-Fi signal, now my fourth one which I'm currently using has light leaking through the sides and one of the capacitative buttons is not bright at all.
I'm getting really tired at this point and I really want to just find a good One X without problems. Any chance the grey ones have less issues? I doubt it but it's worth a shot at asking.

Still On My First
hmmm, I have read a lot about people getting damaged and faulty One Xs. I find that very interesting and wonder if it just bad luck, but with how many people have these problems, I wonder if HTC made a few bad batches and just didn't tell anyone about them. I am on my first One X, hopefully the only) and have been loving it ever since the day I got it. I haven't noticed any problems. Another interesting thing I have noticed is that people seem to say that their grey ones are just fine. I've got myself a grey one too and have had no issue either. Maybe it is only the white ones that had this problem. Hope you get a good one soon, or I even hope you decide to stay with the One X. Maybe you can try getting it from somewhere else that may noot have gotten a bad batch.
I would keep getting replacements until I got one that was perfect, or at least close enough. Something like a yellow tint in the display isn't a big deal, but dead pixels or broken wifi is.

Thing about the wifi is, the wifi is a defect on almost all units. It was a mistake that HTC themselves actually acknowledged. It has something to do with the connectors being too far apart. My One X seems to disconnect frequently but it will only be for a few seconds, so I don't worry too much about it. Apparently the newest made devices have fixed this issue but I expect that it will be a little while before all of the old ones are sold. I hope this helps :highfive:
