Just moved from HTC Desire to HTC One. ON the Desire there is a notification sound called Freeze. It is not on the One. Where do I find it to down load. Thanks AQ
Welcome to the forums. I'll just say it because a Mod is going to get you eventually anyway: please search before making new threads. There's a section just for your phone where you can likely find the answer with ease.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1533 That's for the X since you didn't specify, but you can search if you need another.

Got the chance of updating to one and have been looking for reports, advice feedback on this phone. Is there going to be a section for this phone ?
Thanks
Probably not as it's not an HTC device even though it is branded an XDA.
Is this a HTC only forum then ?
Don't know about that but i do know they have decided not to create a section for things like the Samsung Omnia. But then that is neither HTC nor an XDA.
Seems fair enough, they do say somewhere its HTC only, just read it, be to much if they had to do every windows phone out there. Oh well the Zest is on the way, lest see what it's like in the flesh.
I was wondering how similar the htc sensation and the sensation 4g (tmobile) are. Can one use the same mods, kernels, etc for both of them. I am asking because there is no separate forum for sensation 4g.
responded to your post in the q&a forum (seriously didn't need to post twice) that they are they exact same & that's why there's no need for a separate forum
<excuse me for that. I just wanted to make sure I get an answer quickly but there seem to be no way for me to remove the other post
Can anyone let me know, which is the best custom rom.
Blueetooth for ios...
air blue sharing is a paid app which works very perfect without any bug, worth buying it.
How many times is this question asked across all forums?
ask your HTC One S questions in the section below.

closing this one here...
Sorry had to title it the way I did. Was just too funny to pass up...
Am I the only one who thinks we should have a moderator merge all of these sense 5 threads and make it a rule that all new threads will be closed? Just like the main JB thread we had?
Or, "JellyBean 4.1.2/4.2.x Update and Sense 5.0 Speculation/News/Discussion Here - All Others Will Be Locked -"

Another good idea but the thread title is too long to fit.
I don't mind seeing 1 thread for Sense 5. It's the 10+ threads that are driving me crazy.
And maybe it should be a sticky.. but then again, it's for the forum moderators to decide.

Or we could delete all the existing threads... Nothing too important has been said, if anything important at all!

Just for those who jump into this thread thinking that we are getting Sense 5 via OTA....only the global versions of the One X, One X+, One S and One V will be getting it.
that's what they're saying anyways.

If global versions get it, like HTC__001, then I assume it would be fairly easy flashing a Sense 5 onto a rooted device.

Think the xda people kind of like clutter and duplicate threads. Just look how they created an application forum for every phone. Just look at how much duplication there is going on there, it's crazy, but i guess someone thinks that makes sense.
Tbh if there is one thing that vexes me more than redundant threads, it's the endless replies "can't you read there is already a thread for this"
It's the same as feeding trolls - completely self-defeating. It validates the thread because it pushes it up to the top of the list and renders the poster no better than the OP.
If the thread is redundant leave it alone, alert the moderators and let them do their thing, then we can all move on.

Rather than opening more threads and adding to the clutter, reporting may of been a good idea.
Speculation sticky thread created, relevant posts to be moved there

Please don't get mad at me for making this thread.
I just haven't seen any recent, non-shady looking places with a guide to root an HTC One X.
I'd like to root my HTC One X to:
1) Improve battery life by:
i) Safely undervolting/underclocking it
ii) Turning off 2 of the 4 cores
iii) Installing the BEST rom for battery
(I'm not sure of their respective advantages/risks/disadvantages.. could you please let me know?)
iv) Any other way, really
2) Get rid of the "3" Network branding
3) Maybe get a nice ROM
4) Perhaps I'll get Titanium Backup Pro,
I recently had my phone serviced under warranty at HTC service, and the 3-month-warranty-of-repairs thing will end in a month, and the normal 2 year warranty expired in April.
Should I root my HOX now?
How should I root my HOX? Could you please direct me to a still-valid rooting guide for my HOX?
Also, could you please recommend what I should do once I root my phone?
EDIT: Also, I'm a bit confused about custom ROMs. Does having one installed mean the default HTC Sense is removed? Like, the weather widgets and such will be gone? The 'settings' menus will look different, etc?
Thanks
The first thing you should do is probably be in the correct forum [emoji12]
You're in the HTC One XL / at&t One X (Evita) forum, and you actually have the HTC One X (Endeavoru). Plus, you've posted in the General Section, when you should have posted in the Q&A Section.
What you should do is head over to the HTC One X forum, but before you post another thread there you should do some research first. XDA rules state that a user must search thoroughly before posting. All you should really need to do is check out the sticky threads (the ones at the very top) in each of the sections there, your question has been asked a million times before, and therefore has been answered a million times before. Time to do some reading.
PS. Asking which ROM is best/most stable/fastest/prettiest, or asking for a suggestion isn't allowed, here's why. To say one ROM is better is to infer that the others are inferior in some way. This is disrespectful to the devs who spend their spare time bringing us these awesome ROMs free of charge. Each user has different tastes anyway, the best way to see which ROM suits you is to flash a few and find out for yourself. Battery life differs greatly from user to user anyway, it depends a lot on how you use your device.
